yeah, that is important to note, this one is interesting in that it starts hard as hell, and gets easier as you build up permanent upgrades over many runs. After many runs you can then make it hard again with run modifiers for extra rewards

i think the most unique thing about this game is all weapons are fun and feel different, then you have different aspects that make every weapon play in different ways

I looked at the wiki for chaos. okay chaos is weird. Their boons seem to be generated on the spot. It's a (negative effect) + (positive effect) and thats the boon

so I just tried tight deadline for the first time and my time ran out in the boss battle vs Theseus but I didn't die. What exactly happens when the time runs out? it was in the end of the battle and it was kinda chaotic because I was hurrying as much as I could.

General question, I'm trying to avoid learning too much about this game before I play it, but how do its systems and balance feel to you all compared to Diablo III?

(I assume that's an appropriate game to compare it to)

Sort of trying to avoid skinner-box systems where an infinite grind is necessary for endgame benefits.

@signal goblet The game does include a certain degree of grind, but not to the extent of games that rely on it. The story pacing really softens any feeling of harsh endless grinding. The devs really combined roguelite permaprogression and ongoing story amazingly already.

@sage marten seems possible. I’ve heard haephestus is unlikely because he might butt in on the weapon upgrading already in the runs. Hestia I think is said to be ||in a dispute with the gods on Olympus and so is unlikely to enter the game.|| Apollo is also a crowd favorite since he would interact with Artemis in the family dynamic well.

But it’s really hard to predict, I would be happy for any other god in general, especially one with a fire theme.

Reading the posts here about the ages of the Olympians had me looking at the family trees and something struck me that had always kind of been nagging at me, but I never had words for it.
Where are the muses? I mean, I would understand their exclusion to focus solely upon Orpheus for the music in the game, but I can't recall any mention of them even in relation to any other kind of creative endeavor. Obviously not all the gods are going to being in game, but the sisters are pretty big in the telling of Greek tales.

With Erebus and Nyx, 'darkness' and 'night' respectively, being Chaos' only offspring who went on to produce the...less happy gods in the cosmology we see that Hesiod saw Chaos as a being of darkness and the association with the abyss of the underworld makes sense.

How do you do a boonless run? Doesn't the game force you to take a boon at the start, and you most certainly can't constantly reroll whenever a single door chamber gives you a boon next chamber
@spring lava you are forced to take some boons, but afaik you just don't use them until you sell, e.g if you get cast, you just dont cast at all

That gentleman is Logan Cunningham who voices The Storyteller as well as Hades, Poseidon, Achilles, Charon, and Asterius. In Pyre he was The Voice, Lendel, Dalbert, Bertrude, and Ignarius. Transistor saw him as The Transistor itself. Meanwhile in Bastion he was The Stranger and Rucks.

Truly an amazing voice actor.

Hey I just bought the game on steam after playing it on Epic around release and I'm a couple updates behind as far as knowledge goes. If a character has a gold lock next to them, that means I have to complete a quest to give ambrosia right? I don't know how to trigger that quest.

Also same ninjah, but its probably like. down the pipeline as we get closer to release to help with Titan blood costs for new aspects, if they plan to do it at all.
