I recently went on a tear through the entire Supergiant catalogue after picking up Transistor and Bastion on the Switch sale. Just finished Pyre a few nights ago, and now here I am.
One thing that strikes me about Hades after playing all of their other work, however, is how different the art style feels. It's far rougher/sketchier than Jen Zee's past work IMO.
I wonder if that was a deliberate choice.

I think it just fits HAdes more. There is much more one the screen. the gameplay is faster and it helps with visibility

Also, did the previous games use 3D character models? If they did they were blended into the hand drawn backgrounds seamlessly, while in Hades they are much more clearly 3D on top of 2D.

Being rendered to sprites makes sense. They appear to animate at fixed frame rates compared to the rest of the family.
I'm assuming they do it that way to save time on animation. Not having to hand draw every animation from eight angles.

Like nearly every boon so far simply applies an effect or otherwise amplifies the basic two attacks for each weapon.

The number of weapons provides a pretty sizable amount of customization, eventually you will be able to equip different options that change how each weapon plays and what it’s specialty is.

you dont need Dark Thirst to use a weapon. Just use it, have fun, and unlock the heat rewards. RNG can feel more random/unfair than it is, people are biased toward their experience and fixed point

How likely is it that Malphon is gonna be nerfed? I've been using it exclusively and it I am on a 4 win streak with the time being cut from 45 minutes on average to 15-20mins. It is quickly becoming my favorite weapon to use.
