she has a few common patterns. dashing to you/ after stopping whipping around her/ and the explosions which you have to react to. The bullet hell move you can just dodge or blast through em with an attack. Just bait out the dash then attack then retreat. that's a simple enough strat if you are still struggling

Yah, I sometimes feel like things don't proc when they should. I have still not had that Demeter boon work where decay is supposed to proc when everyone is chilled.

Well I typically just use whatever weapon has the darkness buff but I normally just try to avoid Theseus's spears until Asterius is down and then once he is on his own I do a lot of shooting him in the back and yah specialing behind his shield.
Helps if you get one of the boons midway through the fight that is easier to dodge though that may be relative.

bow is situationally really good in the ely boss fights, but generally i've found ranged weapons suffer way too much against anything with shields
the fact that shields eat casts for free without any penalty whatsoever doesn't help either...

Many times and for many reasons, a player will make a decision which they soon regret.
There is hope.
But first you must understand the game's auto-save functions and Give Up feature.
After opening your in-game pause/options menu, just below the selection labeled Display you will see an option to either Quit or to Give Up.
These will both be explained below.
Quiting the Game
The game will auto-save every time Zag enters a new room/chamber.
This means that many things that happen in said room/chamber can be effectively undone simply by using the Quit function before leaving that chamber.
However, in an effort to prevent certain kinds of in-game "run cheating", certain things will cause the game to replace the Quit option with the Give Up option.
Giving Up
If you Give Up, the current Run will be aborted and you will be returned to the moment you last entered the training room from which you began the run.
This will undo the entirety of the run you just aborted as if it had never happened. (In fact, the next run you make will be the same run you aborted)
Things That Trigger the Give Up Option (that I know of)
- Taking damage after entering a chamber, but before collecting its reward.
- ||Re-rolling a chamber reward using Fated Authority.||
- ||Fishing.||
- ||Entering Chaos chambers.||

@serene obsidian as mentioned above about Fear Statue, greeks also often displayed Ares in chains, to "contain" him. His urge to kill was widely known and many tales involving Ares been ending pretty bad for mortals who got close enough. So, basically, greeks tried to contain their own god, while using chains in his appearances.
some statues that had no chains on em in our days, had attachments for those. vases and stuff also had those not always but often.

I ran zeus shield (shun i know) but i had All the knockback from poseidon and All the bolt upgrades from zeus. As soon as i launched my shield and hit a satyr after getting the Wall AoE Bump ( i assssume) The game COMPLETELY froze

It's hard because you have to learn a bunch of new attack patterns, but once you do learn them, the punishment doesn't feel too rough.
Unless you stack it with high amounts of forced overtime, in which case some of the new attack patterns become very very difficult.

@random sandal The Broken Spearpoint I think is widely considered one of the best in the game.
Skelly's is a nice easy save, but overall I think the spearpoint is the most effective durability
Saigon is nuts and uses the most difficult keepsakes, but they're effective if you're just that good.

I'm gonna explain it instead of being coy: Getting the right starting boon for the first free one can make or break a run because your main attack for the chosen Aspect is very likely to roll on that boon, and the rarity buff is very nice - starting Chaos Shield with Epic-rated Dionysus special is almost a free win. @random sandal
That said, I'm not quite sure the second floor works properly with god keepsakes
The "next one will be this god" function appears to just not really work consistently, so... you can probably monkey with other boons and be fine

If playing for fun:
I take the keepsake for whatever god I want, then the coin purse, then whatever god-sake I want for synergy, then Acorn for the final biome.
If grinding resources:
Poseidon first, then coin purse, then Acorn for the final 2 Biomes.
If playing on 10 Heat or higher:
Coin purse first, then Hourglass for Asphodel & Elysium, then Acorn for the final Biome.

Fated Choice pertains to the Minor Prophecies you can access from your bedroom desk -- if you complete all the requirements for a Prophecy, you will receive the corresponding reward. It won't help you during the run itself, but the reward you get might help with future runs (although some rewards are redeemed mainly for decoration/fluff)

man after i got the chaos boons out of the way i realised i entered 6 chaos gates and 4 gave me flourish on a chiron run
add to that ares and aphrodite duo boon ares attack + aphrodite special
everything was one shotted
hermes helped out too +special speed 30%
so did the hammer which was my first one
whenever i play with chiron bow i tend to find that +4 hammer really easy

One of my personal favourite runs was turning the shield into a bow, using the hammer to turn bull rush into a ranged attack with a power shot

As for the attack, it doesn't really work to use damage boosts on it unless you're rocking aspect of Eris at at least level 2 due to rounding I think - otherwise flat damage like Zues attack is better, or quickly applying status stacks or doom to lots of enemies
The 5 shot short range attack is completely ridiculous with the Artimes attack though

If you go bow, you want to go for attack damage, and get daedalus hammers that either give you explosive attack, or double attack, or triple attack, and just get up in there and shotgun fools
