Personally, my favorite build with it is hunting rifts, even though it's kinda counter-intuitive to do a cast that doesn't get stuck in someone. But man, the +50% damage when maxed is so good

The best possible speed I think you can get is the following:
+30% (Zag Sword)
+20% (Charon Shop Item, Ichor i think?)
+40% (Epic Greater Haste)
+48% (Epic Second Wind)
+100% (drift dash)
- whatever you can get from plume (usually 30%)
This totals to about...
268-275% bonus movespeed after using a call and dashing
moving nearly 4 times faster
combined with the fact that extra mobility on the sword is god tier
this could be for a hilariously stupid run

Shield and God Mode are really good at easing the difficulty curve. They’re sort of like training wheel in my opinion. You’ll eventually want to turn them off though as you get used to things
I got my first non-god mode clears on heat 2-3 after I got used to everything with God Mode on

You have to full clear (you get one from meg and one from last boss). Then you can increase heat to reset all the drops.

After you've yeeted the last boss @plucky shoal You unlock a bit of a bonus thingy.
You can make the game harder, and whenever you complete it while you've made it harder, you get Blood and what not from the bosses.
Example, if I go through the game again with the Sword or Spear, i won't get nothing, unless if I put the Heat up, Which you unlock after kicking the last bosses Dentals in.

hey, any tips for builds with the spear? i'm doing pretty terribly with it compared to my other weapons

and Personal Liability is a unique Hell modifier, it prevents built-in impervious from triggering if you take a certain amount of damage as a % of your max HP, meaning that you can be one shot
Budget Cuts is the biggest issue with Hell, as it limits your mirror upgrades to 2500 darkness
so you have to choose between death defiances and other options, and you might as well forget about the boon rarity upgrade options entirely

The biggest issue I could imagine would be the having only one dash
I feel like most of the other things you get as a result of playing the game could and would be mitigated at least partly by extreme skill
But only one dash seems killer

I did a no-darkness run once to see if it would get any special dialogue from Meg (it didn't) and at least reached the final boss with it, but that's still a bit different with the keepsakes and renovations and Nemesis Blade.

i got to the final zone in 7 runs which i was quite surprised since i was hard locked on hydra when it first came out. but i was quite stubborn with keepsakes and didnt beat the final boss until my 40th run when i finnally started swapping them around, and now the game feels very consistent ever since i started using them all

I just finished my slowest run ever of 43 minutes
(this is what happens when you pick Chiron bow and don't get saddled with no decent specials)

that was my first time using a maxed out Zagreus shield, so I was extra careful

so seeing a 40 minute run blew my mind

my average is about 40 minutes, my fastest is 24 or 26 with the Chaos shield, from when I did the timed heat challenge

my longest succesful run was 36 minutes with a railgun. Then I did a 26 minute run. Maybe I am going too fast with the game. Need a really slow burner weapon to reach an hour.

Chaos is definitely my favorite one
I like to scout the areas after each clear, especially after I noticed that Erebus and Chaos rifts spawn in weird locations in Asphodel and Elysium

rooms in Tartarus are much tighter so it's easier to see the rifts, but in the other biomes rifts sometimes spawn in very weird locations, far away from the exit

I reported irretrievable Bloodshards using F10. It's very noticeable during one of Styx' final rooms, with a big inaccessible area in the middle
if the shards land smack in the middle of that area, you can't recall them from any angle
