Getting heals for kills would trivialize Meg and Hydra, even if it would be very lackluster against some other bosses. It would also be something that doesn't fare well with the timed pact because it's slower than just doing damage (granted, Aphrodite doesn't have a damaging effect without Sweet Surrender or arguably her legendary), but be really strong without a time limit

Rail takes too long to ramp up, Shield is a little slower, definitely safer. Playing the Sword with the Zag aspect gives you a massive speed boost (and doesn't hurt your damage that much to not use the other aspects) and combined with anything Athena you're much tankier even though you're constantly in the enemy's face.

There was also the very brief time when hammers weren't exclusive from each other, and Hestia aspect used to be a hammer upgrade called "Heavy Slug" which gave you one powerful bullet.
So you could get Heavy Slug, and Infinite Chamber, and spam Hestia powered shots.
It was glorious and very busted.

bit of advice, if you want to give an NPC a bottle, make sure you give the bottle first. I dont know if its a bug or whatever, but if I talk to them first before giving a bottle, I lose the option of gifting a bottle

for Hydra I recommend trying to get something that helps shred the heads armor faster, so artemis critical rates, literal armor break from Daedalus, Doom from Ares or stack poison with Dyo

there is honestly so many ways to build, I did actually do a cast build before, got ares cast boon, then enhances it with hermes speed and got crit rate, double cast and tracking cast from Artemis, that hting was mental, basically every room I just threw out all my blade rifts and stoo still, they did all the work

I don't blame you, the sword is good but hella intensive. Sometimes you just wanna use the shield and sleep at the keys.
Armor damage is kinda cool, as is the pseudo-AoE, but staggering is so so so much more useful (especially when the rail doesn't come with it outside Special normally) and actual-factual AoE also helps the Rail's inaccuracy more than piercing helps hit additional targets.

The move speed is very useful when playing with Sword, if you forego the dash attack and rely on the most powerful tool at your disposal, the World Splitter. There is no need for such trickery and subtlety as dashing when you wield the full might of the Stygian Blade! Walk swiftly towards your enemies, that you might Chop them to smithereens with a single devastating blow!

So earlier I mentioned how I made a build where I had homing blade rifts carving everything up and I didnt even have to move a muscle outside of throwing them out...well, I got a heroic boon from artemis that doubles my cast amount, and now I throw out 12 homing blade rifts that carves everything up and also a boon from ares that makes enemies take more damage form blade rifts for every blade rift damage tick...with this combo, I melted the final boss from full to 0% in like...30 seconds?

I just looked up a few. I really like Dyonisus on the bow special. Exclusive Access is great. Poseidon damage on the attack. Prioritize that early in Tartarus and you have Epic boons from then on.
