Spear is ultimate poke damage. It can't bash enemies into walls like the sword or shield, but the increased distance on it combined with how you can infinitely spam its attack makes it oddly fun. I just stood across gaps poking at some armored Wretched Thugs fleeing when they got close and chipping away at their armor until they finally dropped. Took a long time especially because I had no damage buffs, but it was fun.

I'm someone who's pretty dang interested in buying the game soon, but want to wait some so I see a slightly more completed game. That said, there's not really a good spot to quickly check the dev progress online besides tucked away here in discord. So i gotta ask is it just me or is the boss hp bar messed up. The damage is fine normally but at the very end when it seems to have a decent chunk left like maybe a tenth to a twentieth it goes down after 1 hit that that shouldn't have done that much damage. This seems to be both meg and the hydra. Am i just blind or is this occuring for everybody?

your last health chunk in a lot of games is more than it seems to add tension, for bosses you can do the reverse where it seems you have further to go but actually they are close to death

Like, getting Artemis cast plus the "cast falls out of enemies in 2 seconds" is such a powerful combo I don't even use my weapon.
Jut cast cast cast cast, dash dash dash, pick'em back up, cast cast cast cast, dash dash dash, pick'em back up, repeat as long as necessary.

Biggest make-or-break on hydra melee runs for me has been whether I have enough health / damage to blow up 1, preferably 2 heads very quickly in 6 head phase.
Once there is space to stand then I can usually avoid stuff and play it safer, but those first "here comes the heads" seconds are very important.
