I think the good thing is that the whole game is being released bit by bit as a result of the whole Early Access thing, so you'll get to experience new chunks of the game over time, which will keep the experience from going stale

they did that with dead cells, i got burned out on dead cells. at some point the new bit-by-bit content was not enough for me to keep comming back to it. and when they released the full game it was too different for me :/

I own some early access games that I haven't played in ages. Take Project Zomboid for example. I didn't play that for over a year, started playing it in October and have been playing it weekly since then.
A game doesn't have to keep your interest all the time. Tbh I have got my moneys worth out of Hades already, if I didn't play it again I'd be happy with the money I've spent on it, but I know I'll be continuing playing it for a while, even if I do burn myself out on it and stop playing for a while.

Still, early access, we have only seen the 2 first levels, so we can't really say much about the difficulty. Obviously the people that start playing now are going to have an easier time on these early levels than those who buy the game on its full release.

The thing is that in previous games, hard difficulty modifiers have always been optional while in Hades sometimes you feel forced to take them. As the game is right now, some mechanics of the game can be seen as having a difficulty challenge out of nowhere. So a fun, optional "easier" mode would be nice, since I suppose that a "hardcore" mode will eventually come as a pure optional setting.
