this is just my off-the-top-of-head speculation, but each of the heroes from the hidden aspects seem to have met some manner of ignoble end, or otherwise had a troubled relationship with death in general
Arthur died to his own traitorous son as his kingdom crumbled around him, Guan Yu arrogantly underestimated his opponent and was outmaneuvered and killed for it, Lucifer obviously fell from grace due to his own pride, Beowulf tries to fight a dragon alone and gets mortally wounded, Gilgamesh goes on a long, painful journey to achieve immortality that ultimately ends in humiliating failure, and Rama (in some versions of the tale) committed suicide after his wife dies of sorrow because he condemned her out of distrust
