From the Steam page, Windows 7 is a minumum requirement. Also, from january, the mininum requirement for the Steam client will be Windows 10. I don't what would happen if you go with XP regardless

There can only be three fake bobs, so the fourth bob is always real if the first three were fake. Fake bobs have an interval of 2-5 seconds while the real bob has an interval of 1-2 seconds. So if it takes more than 2 seconds, it should be a fake bob. Meaning you should look for the real bob within a short time after you start fishing or within a short time after a previous bob.

Personally, I just look for the white flash above the bobber and ignore the bobber itself. Some players have said they have better success when putting their thumb on the bobber to not get distracted by that, so maybe you could give that a try.

A Perfect Catch means catching a fish within 340ms. Perfect Catches are 50/50 on being a legendary or rare fish. Any other catch is 50/50 on being a rare or common fish.

1. At the start of the run, you have a specific seed. Giving up restarts the run with that same seed.
2. As you progress, many of your different actions (including breaking pots) will advance your seed some amount, leading to branching randomness off your initial seed

Bosses are also encounters. However bosses and mini-bosses are not standard encounters, which does matter for certain Chaos boons

I don't know... From what I gather, your 3 built-in death defiances are used up before the Chaos death defiance, and they're tracked separately. Since you lost a built in DD, you can get the option to buy it back

Each boss, except for the final boss, has a bit of RNG to them
But that RNG lessens with each subsequent boss, I suppose to make things more consistent and fair

I love how much of the mechanical ideas in Hades are refinements and improvements upon ideas in their previous games

The Exalted are the best example, as they borrow from previous Supergiant games in two ways

The obvious thing is the cells from Transistor

But less obvious is the Exalted Greatshields

opening more than 1 duoboon per god does not give more chances of getting one from that god. the game rolls boon shininess (aka is it a duo or legendary), and only separately checks for rarity if the first condition fails. that might explain some things.

It's not the only way, but get very good at fishing. Fishing nets you lots of gems and nectar and such!
