if you dont suck at video games getting a really good timing on fishing on the surface can net you a bass, which is traded for a titan blood. i personally traded a ton of ambrosia because i could care less about ||cthonic champions|| but generally you will be slowly accruing them as you ramp up the pact of punishment. by the time you hit around heat 8 with all the weapons you should have enough to max out your favorite aspects.

i however do suck at videogames so i have to go the long way and increase heat 1 by 1 because i am for some reason better at the main game than i am at fishing.

its not hard to get SOMETHING, but in order to get legendary fish you have to have reaction time pretty much as fast as the fastest humans so i just get super jittery and occasionally accidentally perfectly time a fish

the best strat ive come up with for not accidentally clicking too early

is to hold my index finger above the button and hold it back by pinching it between my index and thumb from my other hand, that way its harder to accidentally tap, and you can feel more confident to hit the timing for getting something

but for getting legendary fish, throw everything out the window and click randomly because god knows my reaction time is slower than the average sea urchin

There can only be three fake bobs, so the fourth bob is always real if the first three were fake. Fake bobs have an interval of 2-5 seconds while the real bob has an interval of 1-2 seconds. So if it takes more than 2 seconds, it should be a fake bob. Meaning you should look for the real bob within a short time after you start fishing or within a short time after a previous bob.

Personally, I just look for the white flash above the bobber and ignore the bobber itself. Some players have said they have better success when putting their thumb on the bobber to not get distracted by that, so maybe you could give that a try.

A Perfect Catch means catching a fish within 340ms. Perfect Catches are 50/50 on being a legendary or rare fish. Any other catch is 50/50 on being a rare or common fish.

this is a fine speed but i wouldn't call it fast. not trying to disparage you. what i would recommend to make the timer more forgiving is pausing while decision making. if you are thinking about what room to take just pause the game it'll shave a lot of time off
