What a shame...I have all the blizz games fan for almost 10 years and its just so...havnt words for it Lost my faith when they stop supporting hots and since then every blizz news get me in horrible shame...

As for the topic of rogue likes, I think the only real disappointment gives off is Gungeon. It feels so slow compared to the ones I played and really as much as fun it was, in retrospective it fell flat for me since I never felt the same feeling of success and progression than other games.

but last year i played it through serious sam fusion, and...
WOW it's actually way better
it just goes to show how close ss3 was to being a really good game at release

it's really good
it takes it's time to really kick in to the high gear
but tbh - those first few levels - as boring as they might seem - are a great introduction to the series for the new players
i played it in co-op with my buddy and up to that point he was playing mostly COD and other games like that
so that first few ss3 levels - being filled with weak hitscanners and giving you fairly standard guns with ADS and reloading - were a nice and smooth transition from this type of gameplay to the more oldschool stuff
for me it was boring
but for someone new it was a nice set of training wheels
i appreciate those first levels more now than i did back in 2011 
but yeah - this year is looking really good for video games
so far 2020 is supposed to have doom eternal, ss4, new half life i'm too poor to play
REmake3, ff7, hades might come out of early access too?

It's good in my opinion. It's just can get messy understanding the strategies considering the game whole thing is being Tactical RPG Tower Defence Rogue-Like.
Especially with dlc, things can get different. Only thing that's tricky is the fact how different the difficulties are. The normal difficulty is just hardcore mode in trench coat.

@ dead cells topic, its a very pretty game and i love how it looks but yeah it is much more unforgiving. hades is infinitely more appealing to me because it has a more interactive story, while the focus on dead cells is largely the (admittedly solid) gameplay. which isnt a bad thing, but im just inherently not great at the genre so its more punishing to me and i rarely pick it up.

The combat is great but the metroidvania elements are EXTREMELY tedious for someone who plays it for the first time
It's allways having the next area locked and the only way to get there is with a hidden thing in X corner in Y place

I don't really like Hollow Knight for a very reason how easily I get stuck lost in the levels, the experience gotten stale to me simply because most of my time was spent trying to explore the area and try understand how I am supposed to progress. However I get the appeal for game to be exploration based, but if you are dummy like me the fun gets cut due to simple frustration of feeling stuck with no real indication of to know where to go next without spending some heasty time looking up and going through guides and then coming to realization you may have softlocked yourself.
Tldr - hollow knight good game, but I ruined the experience for myself.

The game wants you to dump multiple hours in a single session for your first playthrough in order to be able to tell where each area you can now enter with the skill you got
