eh, i mainly played healers and tanks in world of warcraft, i was never very comfy with playing a dps because of the extreme focus on topping the damage meters

the biggest learnign curve with ffxiv healing so far has been adjusting to the fact that i'm expected to dps and heal

Yeah, like... Gendering the person correctly is important. But if said trans person is DISTINCTLY, ACTIVELY doing something on PURPOSE to emulate something society associates with the gender they aren't... Calling it something it's not isn't rude. It's just calling it what it is.

I also only made the joke because many trans people I know or knew liked joking or being serious about presenting as more than one gender, the gender flexibility was important to them, but in this case I had no sufficient information so I might have crossed the line with "so all genders" joke

I'm a strong believer in the ideal that words only possess as much power as you allow them to hold over you. Discribing something as the user/performer of the action intended it to be portrayed shouldn't hurt them if they're aware of... the sheer, basic nature of language and how it works.
