No. It's... hard to explain what it is.
oh ,,, the wikis lie,,
It's an instanced place where you level up on a completely separate system.
i want the form and function hairstyle
The whole point of it was for legendary/artifact gear.
I think the overall impression was that most Eastern players either liked it or were indifferent, because they like mindless grinding over in the East.
Most Western players haaaate it.
I also hate it, because it reminds me of all the worst parts of FF11.
oof
Y'sh gets a lot of love from me because of her roasting of "Little Sun" in 4.X
I mostly did raiding, though I wasn't hardcore to do PUGs.
I mostly stuck around Alliance or the rare raid where I could help with clearing content that wasn't Savage.
Shin-chan EX was a right pain in the you-know-what.
This one adds some more games that I feel were left out by the first one. I hope everyone enjoys.
old but gold
Indeed.
But I think my least favorite part about XIV is how much of a slog it can be to get iLVL stuff raised along with doing multiple job class levelling as an aside.
(Getting my PLD levelled while my DRG sat at 70 kind of was hard to adjust since I'm REALLY not good at tanking.)
iLVL stuff makes me turn redder than Mr. Krabs' body.
Thats most MMOs for ya, unfortunately
Yeah, but the grind in XIV is probably what got me to drop it for a bit.
Plus I also don't like that iLVL locks story progression too.
So imagine my frustration with going through a patch and not being able to finish the patch's storyline because of my iLVL being low.
Now THAT made me angry.
Thats dumb
Especially considering I'd been micromanaging a lot of my gear slowly.
Though I think most MMOs also do that unfortunately
Its the dreaded gear treadmill
The gear dreadmill
Which GW2 doesnt have, which is why GW2 is great
XIV is a bit more forgiving.
Though it really sucks when you can't get the gear piece you wanted.
looks at the Ivalice Raid
starts shaking
Rabanastreeeeeeeeeeeee
Imagine an MMO without levelling or gear
Destiny 2 is the closest thing to an mmo I will play
There are custom RP servers without leveling or gear
but, y'know, you have to do that whole RP thing
Right but I dont want that either
Actually, maybe keep some of the gear?
I just want an experience where you dont have to basically work on the game to be able to eventually enjoy it
Heroes of the Storm:Mobas::???:MMOs
GFDVGHKFG
I love hots
what a fancy little boy
I like Alisae a lot.
Idk, sounds like normal danish to me
i havent seen enough of her but she saved me from the sultana's chambers cutscenes
so i love her
Alphy's next to her too but my favorite of all XIV characters is that magnificent guy named Raubahn.
Raubahn is a god among men.
Also find it funny that his adopted son is voiced by Shulk in the new dub cast.
:O
all of the current dub cast in XIV worked on Xenoblade 1 and 2.
If my memory serves me correctly on the English-side of things.
All the while the Japanese cast is just as big.
(I'm boring and I play XIV in Japanese.)
Oh yeah, the JRPG Im playing has a character voiced by the same guy who voices the human male commander in GW2
Its so weird
(Thancred's voice in Japanese is to die for.)
And I think another character is voiced by either the guy who voices Ezreal or Ekko in league
I know that the Japanese cast for XIV has a lot of top-billers for most anime or JRPGs.
i had the voice acting on japanese forARR but i love the voicework for heavensward
Most of them returning from previous FF games too.
I was right on the first, but wrong on the second
Ohhh
He voices Robin in Teen Titans
I see
Japanese Zenos is Yuri Lowell.
I do wonder what the next MMO the FFXIV guy is going to make is going to be like
:O
yeah
He's still the general director / producer of XIV
but he has roles elsewhere in the company
like the dude's gone up in the rank and it's unsurprising if he has a handle on the next FF game in a way.
:OO thats so cool!! good for him
I heard rumours that its actually a new MMO
Probably from a producer's role.
Since its specifically in the same MMO division
I think XIV is going to last longer or as long as XI has.
imagine yoko taro making a ff game
Don't think they're gonna do another MMO soon.
SE please i dont have the money for another mmo
which is Japan-only.
Could be a New IP
Could be.
Then again, itd probably be a sub-based MMO so, eh
But for a while I heard that the next project he was overseeing was a console RPG.
UGH I LOVE ALPHIS NEW VOICE
So who knows, there might be multiple projects he has a hand in.
hes so baby
Still kinda wish Riot just made an MMO set in Runeterra
I wanna hang out with Viktor
I also heard that due to the success of the Rabanastre / Ivalice-themed raids, there was something about Itsuno coming back for something.
Might have been for 5.0 since two of the important locales in Ivalice are in 5.0 as part of Eorzea
Dalmasca and that major area from Vagrant Story were name dropped.
Though another Ivalice game has always been in my interest.
Hoping Square-Enix does return to that world at some point while Itsuno's around.
Because I do want to see something to follow up on Tactics.
Plus XII Zodiac Age sold very well from what I recall.
I just want to see a proper followup to Dissidia
doot doot
Honestly speaking? I kind of want to see Square-Enix revisit the idea of a western studio doing something with Ivalice.
Im sure it has
But its still not Dissidia
It lacks the ludicrous sky battles
Also all of the good characters
Like, just what they did to my boy Exdeath
I'm more excited for when Gilgamesh returns.
Seriously
How do you take an iconic shield and parry character
Whose coolest gimmick was the ability to block literally everything
And make him into a stance character
I think they went with a different direction for NT on the basis to make it work better for Arcades.
That's why I feel the gameplay isn't like the original games.
NT was originally Arcade only before they finally brought it over to PS4 and PC.
I feel like the chance of it happening is found more in OO.
Even Kefka is less zany
OO is actually a bit better with the story at least.
Opera Omnia
the mobile game
it actually has better story and character interactions
stuff's really good
plus almost every playable is in the game from each games are in
also includes the CC main protags, WoFF protags and a few others from spin-offs
Looks like a normal RPG, except on mobile
Not my thing tbh
But yeah, after waiting so long after the masterpieces that Dissidia, and Dissidia 012 were
Dissidia NT was a massive disappointment
also they just added Ignis from XV as of late
I think NT only got my respect when they gave me another XI rep.
XI is probably the game that gets a lot more love in OO than in NT
because OO gives you Lion, Lillisette and Aphmau in addition to Prishe and Shantotto
I think we're gonna get ||Ardyn|| at some point.
Because now only XV, T and T-0 are missing villains iirc.
Though Im not sure what Ardyns moveset would be, exactly
XV's villain should probably be Ravus imo.
Ehhhh
if not Ravus than Aranea to throw people a bone
I wouldn't mind them.
I mean theyd be alright, but Noctis and Ardyn are set
And of the rest, Ignis is the only correct choice
I think Tactics' villain is one I'm unsure of
because I dunno how they'd handle Ultima / Altima.
Delita would be a nice secondary rep from Tactics, but he isn't a villain.
(Then again, neither is Snow and yet he gets his LR-self.)
Hm
What other mainline FF game was there where the main character wasnt the prettiest
I guess FF7
T-0's villain is probably the one where I'm very confused on who it'd be.
Because I really don't know who they'd pick.
Wrong, cloud is gorgeous
you think vincent > cloud?
Zack was datamined with Tifa for a S2 of NT.
Oof
Even with his edgelord costume
tbh,, i have a model of vincent so
He is so pretty
But yeah, Cloud and Firion
Who else
Bartz I guess?
Though its unfair being in the same game as Gilgamesh
Honestly speaking the best looking FF character will be Balthier.
Very strange way of spelling "Ignis"
Always and forever will be. No exceptions.
Unless your name is Ignis.
I honestly love how Ignis became such a breakout character
I've always taken a fancy to Balthier, honestly. He's that kind of guy I love.
i dont like ignis ,, oops
Excuse you
i wish i could have liked him more
My favorite of the XV boys is Prompto.
But that's because I want to give that boy a hug.
It does.
But I never played it so, whoops
promptos dlc is. wonderful
Actually no
hes my fav chocobro but
I liked Gladio the least
aranea and iris out here doing bits for me
As a character he isnt terribly interesting
Which is why he is shirtless and ripped probably
I'd say my favorite character from XV is Ardyn himself.
I like Gladio the most, I'm a sucker for protector types
ech
Hm
I like Ardyn because there's something about his personality.
why do people like ardyn i Dont understand
Also his wing tattoos are cool as hell
disgusting man
Id say my order is Ignis, Ardyn, and maybe Iris
Ardyn ... greasy and mean
arDYN IS GREASY TY
Ardyn's a very effective villain.
im so mad he got a playable dlc but aranea and luna didnt?
He also has a funny moment or two during his DLC.
He is just evil enough to not have any moral ambiguity, but still sympathetic enough to not be cartoonish
i dont wanna play a whole dlc with him
Plus his english VO is ๐
Darin de Paul is a great VA.
God, I can't stand FF15. Those annoying characters, that clunky gameplay, those boring maps, that lame story, an entire movie dedicated to sheer exposition... The only saving grace is the soundtrack, which, I mean... It's a FF game. The score is always going to be fire.
The rest? SE can keep it, baby.
meanwhile his Japanese voice is Axel's voice actor.
Im just a sucker for Affable Villains
Now is maybe the time to say I have never played an FF game X) only watched chunks of XV over my friend's shoulder
Hold up, annoying characters
This is an even worse take than not liking Ignis tbh
Eh, thats fair
JRPGs are a slog
Not for everyone
I still dont know why I play them sometimes
WAIT I HAVE A BALTHIER MODEL TOO I FORGOT
Actually, no, I do, the characters
Honestly, I'd like if the next mainline returned to a world more akin to FFIX.
Hm
I'm super salty about FF15. I wanted for the game for years because I thought it sounded so cool, then it came out and it was trash to me.
I think I would like it if I played it, I was just in the middle of an FO4 kick, and I don't have a PS4 of my own so /shrug
Rather than the modern fantasy.
So SE can keep it.
Doubt.
There really wasnt that much to be done with it, and Id argue theyve done all they could already
lol kismet if u liked what nomura presented for ffxiii vs then
wait for the next kh
Thats ... still closer to FF6 than FF9
Nomura is a hack to me at this point.
I think?
It has elements of 9 as part of the world.
OOF
Ive not really played 9
ive basically sold my soul to nomura, its an issue
Other than briefly at a friends place
I enjoyed KH1&2. Everything else he's touched? Nah, I'm not here for it.
In-fact the big airship that takes you to Rabanasty in XIV is from 9.
I don't think KH3 is bad, per se. But it just didn't impress me.
Ozma's a boss in XIV too.
Like, not full modern fantasy like FFXV? Yeah thats fair
Though honestly, I want more actual modern fantasy
And that ending was straight butt. Even by typical ridiculous KH plot standards.
FFXV was kind of a compromise
Honestly, I played KH3 and I think it was a perfectly fine game. Story-wise is a different perspective.
I just want full-on modern cities with fantasy elements
I did enjoy some moments of the story.
Make it shadowrun but less depressing
But I can't say that it was entirely great.
I grew up with KH.
So I was in this ride from the very beginning.
Like there is so much to be done there, and so much cool stuff unexplored
But maybe thats too modern for Final Fantasy
I think the "moment to moment" bits in the story were good, but the overarching narrative and how it wrapped up? Nope.
FF7 was probably as modern as its gonna get
As for gameplay... I guess if you like your games super easy it was fine?
I'd like a Final Fantasy game more along the lines of the Atelier games with style and world look.
Atelier games?
Nah, I'm not going back through that mess. I have a thing where I don't really like replaying games unless I consider them above and beyond exceptional.
Atelier Escha and Logy really makes me appreciate the artist.
And KH3 is not that. Not even critical is worth it.
That's a bit of an elitist approach, but alright Kis.
i mean,, i dont like replaying games bc i get bored
I replay a lot of games because I see the value in not only playing but also to analyze them.
I think there are only 10 games total Ive replayed
the only game ive replayed ,,, uhh
Let me rephrase. I don't like replaying games because... I've experienced it once. I don't see why I should spend time going through something I've already seen again. I could spend that time playing another game I've never touched before. But I break that exception if something about the game truly stands out to me.
ohh ive replayed all the kh and AA games but like,,, theres been whole years inbetween replays
If I was getting paid to review a game, it'd be different. But I'm not, and I don't have endless hours in a day. So I'm conservative with my time.
Mainly because its not a super-high quality narrative
Even if it was bloody hilarious
But damn, slicing up everything is so fun
I've replayed:
almost every Tales of game up to this point.
Octopath Traveler twice.
Chrono Trigger multiple times.
FFXII probably three times.
DMC3, 4SE and I'm going to return to 5 at some point.
Persona 3, 4 and 5 (4 due to Golden)
Dragon Quest 3 and 5 (both equally)
there's more but these are a handful I can bring mention to.
I might have to replay TOCS II when 3 comes out later this year
Because Im sure Ive forgotten elements of it
thank you for reminding me UNO
aight
Most servers have multiple UNOs, so it gets confusing
To me, an elitist mentality would be not even bothering to TRY a game because I have a preconceived notion of it that's "beneath me". Simply choosing to spend my time on what I think is cool and/or what I know I'll enjoy is just me... playing what I like (or will potentially like) to play. Those are two different things.
I only got on a JRPG binge because of Crosscode (go buy it, its an amazing game)
And the sky series was just a bit too dated by that point
Still, played TOCS I and II
The first one was honestly really weak, mainly just setup and good lord the characters were unbelievably stupid at times
The second one was actually really good
My first JRPG (or rather Tactical RPG) was Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.
Whoa, that's a really niche game to be your first!
I have Japanese cousins so playing that game was a bit of a convenient spot in my younger years.
I was probably the one kid who got to play a lot of games we never got due to cousins visiting.
Though as a result of the one cousin, he also got me into Anime.
Ah
my first major anime was G Gundam.
Guess everything comes with a downside
Mine was Digimon Adventure I think
So more mainstream
I think over the years I kind of started looking into more niche things to find what makes them enjoyable.
iโm gonna say it
My first JRPG was Legend of Legaia. It, uh... didn't age well. And it's sequel is awful.
digimon > pokemon
But I never finished it.
I think my first JRPG was Pokemon, if that counts? actually wait, no, I think I might've played a Dragon Quest/Warrior game first? It's all kinda fuzzy. something on the Gameboy, probably.
It's how I got into that tangled web of a universe written by Kinoki Nasu.
i see youโre a man of culture uno
Also at least in terms of anime yeah, Digimon > Pokemon. haven't played the Digimon games enough to have an opinion on them.
The first JRPG I finished was Legend of Dragoon. All 60 hours of it. And that's the game I have to thank for making me a gamer.
Ovven, still
I liked both Pokemon and Digimon.
I was never much into Pokemon
oh
sorry
The game that made me into someone who appreciate games as an art form was probably Chrono Trigger.
Mystery Dungeon is the exception
I mean, the one that made me appreciate games as an art form was easily Ghost Trick
Or Transistor
Im not sure which I played first
Oh no definitely agreed on with Ghost Trick.
I think Ghost Trick
I like both Pokemon and Digimon, but I prefer Digimon overall. It's a little edgier.
Ghost Trick is really good.
(In a good way.)
Shame the creator's dog passed away.
I prefer Digimon because its a fascinating world with fascinating creatures
;_;
Plus the shows handled darker themes in interesting ways
Rocket was an adorable lil' Pommy.
Wasnt it Missile?
I think the Digimon shows have been superior to Pokemon from the get go... well, maybe everything before the 5th season. 4th is where it started going downhill.
Eh, even at its worst Digimon is better
I couldn't remember the name. Excuse my brain fart.
Pokemon sort of has the game market on lock. But I thought Digimon Dusk/Dawn was fantastic.
But yeah, 4 was a bit of a decline
5 was perfectly fine
Carried by the main character punching everything
Including god, at the end of it
I disagree when it comes to the 5th season (is that Savers? I don't remember the name) and Xros or whatever it's called where all the kids are younger.
Savers/Data squad, yeah
My absolute favorite season was Tamers.
That's the pinnacle for me.
As it should be, its the best
And then we got Appli Monsters
Which was actually really really good
Even though the first 15 or so episodes were slow
I remember hearing about Appli, but I didn't bother to look into it.
Also the whole punching god thing wasnt a joke
Speaking of SMT, I hope that Switch title ends up being good.
He literally punches god
I could really go for another SMT.
I still wish I had someone to play the Digimon Tabletop with
2019 release for Japan.
That's what I'm betting on.
We're supposed to be getting more news for V soon.
Though really, the game I'm most excited for coming out of Sega is probably Shin Sakura Wars.
and that's in 2020.
I'd really like for them to go back to something along the lines of Nocturne in terms of aesthetic and theme, or even dark and dismal like Digital Devil Saga, but we'll see.
Well the artist who did SMTIV and IVA is leading the art from this point on.
So far it seems to be more of his ilk when it comes to the art direction.
He did a fantastic job with IVA's demons.
Odin from IVA is probably my favorite design of his.
Rather, by aesthetic I didn't mean character designs/art. I mean more... Erm...
"I want it to be dark and edgy."
Atmosphere?
Yes, that.
I think there's certainly a chance it might be, but I dunno.
SMTV might be Chaos-themed given how the teaser trailer went.
I only sorta liked the only Sakura Wars game I've played and even THEN I'm hyped for the new one, lol. It's awesome to see an older series come back, and really the reason I was frustrated with the one game I played was the writing, the gameplay was cool.
So something more along the lines of Nocturne.
Also not sure how I feel about TCOS III being PS4-only
Because each game seems to follow the different routes as a canon
Different localization team too
SMT1 = Neutral
SMT2 = Law
SMT3 = Chaos
SMTIV & IVA = Neutral
SMTV = Chaos(?)
if not Chaos then I could see V being from a Law angle to a degree.
that teaser that they gave us certainly made me think of Blasted Tokyo from IV a bit.
Maybe go for a 2-dimensional alignment chart
If there's one thing I want to know about V.
Is if it's the return of the Turn Press System from 3 and 4.
Also I wanna know when FF7 is finally gonna be here
or a new system entirely for combat.
Hopefully they can improve it to the current day without losing what the original charming
Square-Enix conference in June.
imo SE has already won E3 but capcom could easilt bring it back to me
Capcom announcing an Onimusha reboot would rock my socks off.
I will be nettled
they arent sticking to the old canon ff7 so like,, ,zack if ur out there come home honey
Either a reboot or further rereleases for 2 and 3.
They arent?
Or do you mean not sticking to the extra canon outside of the game itself
Dawn of Dreams should never be remembered.
7R is based on what we know, but it's a new scenario entirely.
Oh ok, thats fine
Like think of it as an AU to the original
Dirge of Cerberus was the last one
ty
I liked Crisis Core, but the other 2 made like no sense
DoC is a pile of crap.
So Im fine with that
@ SE PORT CRISIS CORE COWARDS
Also I really hope they dont weaken the message of the original FF7
Lord knows itd be appropriate right about now
Honestly speaking, I really want Square-Enix to just bite the bullet and do something with Monolith Software to remake Xenogears as a Switch title.
Either that or Bandai-Namco does something with Xenosaga with Nintendo due to KOS-MOS showing up in XBC2.
I'm just really excited to see how E3 goes this year given the rumors.
Between Capcom, Square and what FROM Software has to offer down to any other titles coming around...certainly will admit that I'm curious to see what games get dropped in our laps this year.
Are Platinum Games showing anything?
I want to see more stuff from Capcom, either that or them announcing something for DMCV.
or localise miles edgeworth 2
AA7 is all but confirmed, but I'd wait until TGS for that j/s.
or DGS
Agreed on AA7
Give Athena some time in the spotlight
Let Maya appear more without getting accused for murder again
BRING KLAVIER BACK!
But Platinum Games had a game called Fall of Babylon that they announced at some point
bring franny back too
Yeah their second Square collab.
And her wife Adrian Andrews
that's one I expect them to bring up a bit about.
Because he is a fop
If Ema doesnt like him, I dont like him
She ... doesnt?
look i just want capcom to finish the kristoph story line
I mean, she likes working abroad, but its pretty clearly shown she is rather irritated with him at best
I dont know what there is to finish tbh
I hope thats not a spoiler
uhh kristophs black psyche locks/
nah ive already gotten spoilers lmao
i know what happens
I mean, they arguably already were revealed
im just too lazy to play
We just dont break them
Only if we get more Maya, and Franziska and Adrian von Karma show up
Honestly
Oh this isnt anything ever said
But I think their personalities actually kinda clash
I want an AA spin-off that's more like LA Noire.
or Judgement from the Yakuza guys
have u,, played investigations
Yeah that sounds kinda like Investigations 2
probably is then
i have yet to play investigations 2 but ,,, i have the fan-made localisation downloaded
But, anyway, Franziska got a major superiority complex, while Simon has a weird self-depricating side, and a rather odd sense of humour
because the last game I played was The Great Ace Attorney.
Theyre similiar in that theyre intimidating, but different in everything else
I just watched the subbed playthrough
I still have to finish DGS2
Because the youtube channel that did it originally kinda stopped
And there is a series of twitch VODs with live translation, but its harder than just reading it
Oh and I forgot the by far most important part of AA7
Gumshoe back as the detective
hes busy as phoenix's chef
Absolutely same
I dont know what the story could be
But I still want more
Plus more jokes about Lynne dying
gt was a perfect game, but another story in the same world would b neat
beauty backstory!!!
Oh yeah, since we talked about replaying games earlier
I think Crosscode might be the first game where Ill go for a full New Game + run
A red-skinned wyrm and girl in blue~โช
๐ท โน ๐ฒ ๐ช is free on the Epic Store right now! None of you have an excuse for not having this delightful game anymore
FREE STUFF! YAY!
I was debating whether or not I should buy Rime. This sure simplifies the decision.
The answer is yes, you should buy it (were it not free)
Someone else hates Epic Games store?
it is a popular opinion, yes
I need Hades in Steam :c
It will have a steam release once it's out of early access
I know, but now i can't get the game
why not?
Need me that hades itch release yeahh
Because i buy with "rapipago"(payment method of Argentina) and Epic does not have this, only Paypal and other
I do not have Paypal
i think you can pay directly with credit card as well, no?
Yes, but i do not have a credit card either
You can buy prepaid visas
That's weird, Rage 2 Collectors Edition, with the physical goods, game, extras, and box sells for like 50 bucks
Is that gamers' way of saying they would rather get it on steam? lol
"Time to wake up Trace...."
Just finished Axiom Verge
It might have melted my brain a bit
hrm,,, the xiv battle changes
Gimmie new ghost trick owo
That would be so cool
huh
speaking of the Atelier games
seems like their developer teased a new game today
Hey @opaque quail send u a media inquirie via dm.
Thanks for your time and best regards
blublubblub
me when i was little putting my head in my bath water and making bubbles
anyone else do that or am i weird
im crying bc of ffxiv
this is th e sweetest thing anyones ever said
alphinaud is my real son
i loved doing that too!! and i liked seeing how long i could hold my breath ahha
oh thank god ghfjkgdf
i go blubublbublublublub
dog!! shark dog!!
DO RK
praise dork
uk government is a shambles atm
Implying it hasnt been for the last 2 years
I heard one of the potential replacements is bloody stupid johnson
I was going to say "come to germany"
But Merkel is gonna leave soon-ish
And thats probably gonna be the same kinda mess
And with the SPD squandering everything, the only real left options are the green party (Who are anti-GMO idiots and have a strong anti-vax wing) and the left party (who ... are actually totally fine, they just never get good enough results to have a major impact)
I too believe everyone does the bath thing
Only have a shower, kinda hard to blow bubbles in there...
Some folks in here probably identify with this as much as I do https://i.redd.it/mkxi564gu6031.jpg
oh big mood
Can someone help me? I'm having this very weird and specific problem where in my new keyboard, the spacebar doesn't work if I am pressing the a and w keys together, meaning i can't dash towards the upper left. (it also happens with q and w because i tested with typing, and it's a problem with this keyboard specifically because I use a laptop and I tested with the laptop keyboard).
that is indeed.............a very specific problem.........
what kind of keyboard is it?
had a similar problem once, had something to do with the settings
was able to fix it
but if it's only like that on one keyboard, it sounds like a different thing
i think there's some keyboards that are just like that
can only use so many keys at once
could be wrong
the problem is that it's not a roll-over
i can use other 3 or more keys combinations just fine
it's just the A+W+Space or Q+W+Space (and maybe others that I haven't found)
it's so weird
yeah, that sounds kinda weird
it's multilaser
don't know which one though
it literally just says "gamer keyboard" on the box lmao
oops sorry
thank gosh i got warranty
u can try using a controller in the meantime or something
my old keyboard wouldn't take more than three inputs
i got a second hand corsair now so it's an improvement
okay question: for what reason do you play Hades?
I assume the main answer will be "because it's fun" don't wanna speak for anyone though
that's a valid answer
could you develop why is it fun? as in what you enjoy about it? story, gameplay, etc?
I don't own/play the game so I cannot elaborate and honestly this discussion would be more suitable for #h1-builds-and-combat
fair point
me kill bad guy release serotonin
1 i will buy any title supergiant games releases as i am a huge fan i love the art and the battle systems and the music
๐ 2 what ^ said
ive only played transistor and hades but i own all but pyre and i plan on getting pyre and the ost asap
pyre is really fun!!
pyre's So fun
pyre is a good time
but also pyre make me cry
bastion made me cry
transistor got me close
I don't think pyre ever did
Bastion: ||Rescuing Zulf tho ๐ข ๐ข ๐ข||
yeah that was rly good
the first time around playing bastion i was mostly like cool next, but when i replayed it....ouch
I've played it three or four times and Bastion: ||I can't leave Zulf ;n;||
cried at bastion, almost cried at transistor, didn't cry at pyre
I think that someone more skilled than me should do a mashup of Coheed and Cambria's Welcome Home and Transistor's Spine of the World
cried at all three
same
For me its similiar, except swap Bastion and Transistor
pyre messes me up in a way i cant fully articulate
IS THAT PETER NUREYEV
Then again my opinion is that Transistor was a major improvement over Bastion in most aspects
OWO

:DDDD
aaages ago i had a joshua ilon pfp from the live show
Transistor: ||"Hey, what are you doing? Wait, wait, what are you doing. Red. Don't you do it. Don't you dare. Don't do this.... please... If you do this.... Red please don't..... WAIT RED"||
god the liveshow is so GOOD
IT IS it was so cute
Then again I played Transistor before Bastion, and I imagine that makes a difference
Between Logan's amazing voice, and Darren's Amazing music
Bastion and Transistor had some stupid powerful scenes
yhhh
For me Transistor and Ghost Trick showed that games could be a kind of art that other media are incapable of replicating
Bastion merely reinforced that idea
You can play it on an emulator
Or on iOS if you have that for some reason, I believe
yeah, or watch a playthu, its by the same ppl who did ace attorney
Yeah
ghost trick is one of my top fave games
Did cryaotic do a lets play?
Its probably my favourite of all time, and Im ashamed I overlooked it so much
๐
Its so good
i dont know tbh!
I doubt it
but yeah its So good
I'd highly recommend playing Ghost Trick over watching it, it's a pretty singular experience if you can get into it.
Missil!!! ๐ญ
Best Boy
That is such a good dog
can you pet the dog
hes the BEST dog
Well I wont go into spoilers, but
h a
You will be able to interact with the dog
There will be dog interactions, that's a guarantee.
:o
yes, the dog is very important
i would honestly say its a prime specimen of a perfect video game
yeah
If you have a DS and want to invest in buying it physically I recommend it because it's getting harder to find overall, but otherwise yeah DS emulators are really easy to get going.
For both the only flaw I have is "its kind of short, but I also dont think it shouldve been longer"
And uhhh you can support the devs through Ace Attorney purchases instead since that series just hit it big everywhere, finally. ๐
the mechanics are so fun and refreshing... the music goes hard AF, the graphics are Astonishing to behold
Do you know what game was stupid powerful for me?
The beginner's Guide
its not like, the most traditional videogame
and didn't really have a whole lot of gameplay
but it hurt
I sent an email to its maker
I'm sure he laughed at its response
I've... never heard of it?! The reviews are awesome hmmm......
iโve bought the AA trilogy so many times there so good
is it on steam? :0c
yup
Still need AA7
I'm going to really emphasize that its not traditional
I kind of hope its on the 3DS and not the switch
Because I dont really want to get a switch yet
SLAMS THE DOOR OPEN WHO SAID GHOST TRICK
Buy the Stanley Parable and The Beginner's Guide
I'm not exactly sure how to describe it
I did
I see what type of game it is then. ๐
non-tradidtional is funky fresh im defs gonna look into it
We were talking about good games
Yeah, its by the guy that did the stanley parable
Also tangentially good dogs
Sparrow we've all said Ghost Trick I think. ๐
ahahah
honestly i wasn't that impressed by what i've seen of beginner's guide
no, i mean i watched a playthrough and was pretty :| throughout
ah
Luckily there are many, many games to choose from. ๐
yup!

Too many games in fact
Even moreso if you play multiplayer games that take up a lot of your time
What are the thoughts on the Ultra Deluxe version of Stanley Parable that was announced at TGA? In a night of a lot of excitement for Supergiant I was actually... really pumped to see it. ๐
Curse you League and your characters Im way too invested in
I didn't even know there was a ultra delux version
casually glances at 3000 hours of Dota 2
It's not out yet still, but supposed to be out this year.
https://stanleyparable.com When The Stanley Parable came out, a lot of people asked us for more endings and more content. We told them it didn't need more co...
personally i'll be waiting on untitled goose game
i sincerely hope they decide to keep that as the name
i can't think of it as anything else by now
man, the stanley parable narrator could say anything and it'd be funny
remember it?
remember it? i think i still have it installed.
@ionic viper I use his announcer pack for dota 2 a lot
When goat simulator Happened. ๐
WHY HAVEN'T THEY MADE SANCTUM 3 YET?!?!
I cri
Not that goat simulator and satisfactory aren't freekin' amazing
djfhkjghd the highest rated comment on that trailer: "They waited for the "Go Outside" achievement to be possible before announcing anything I see"
transistor made me cry silly................
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT-vvzCxQWM if anyone is curious about the goose game
From the makers of Push Me Pull You comes the first footage of a stealth game about being a mkischievous goose. Amazing. Watch more trailers here! https://ww...
"It is a lovely morning in the village, and you are a horrible goose."
i've had that goose game on my wishlist for a while hahaa
oh same
i remember when people slowly started uncovering some mystery with ominous whispers in one of the levels, it never went anywhere but i still think about it from time to time
i'm so ready to be a horrible goose
understandable
that sounds like something a goose would do
oh god
we had them all over my high school campus
geese are evil
they would run after you honking aggressively if you looked at them wrong
HONK HONK
im not sure if i've ever seen a goose
im absolutely sure i've seen ducks though
hrmm
geese are evil
Geese are delicious
i just keep giggling at the wigglewalk of the goose in that trailer
@kindred delta sup
sup
also re: extended stanley parable, i am VERY excited about it
i wanna know what goose tastes like
okay but as long as the new endings don't involve having to do something like press the same button for four hours
Isn't that all games, when it comes down to it?
yes but sometimes the buttons are different
It depends on what kind of geese
Ive heard Canadian Geese are the worst
In fact, it is my theory that the canadians are so nice and apologetic because of the geese
Most ill-tempered? Maybe. Still delicious
Unrelated: It's been over a year since fans saved the Expanse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=16&v=a5-DcdfxCvU
#SaveTheExpanse was a global fan movement that came together to save the highly-acclaimed TV show The Expanse. The campaign involved a petition that got more...
Idk, I never liked goose meat much
oh yeah...........the โsave the baby by pressing this button for four hoursโ game fjdkfjsjfhskfjkdjf
Letโs not forget about the achievement you get for not playing the game for like three years
at least that ending didnt have an achievement tied to it
i dont think i did it myself and i have all of them
well, i cheated with the go outside achievement, but not with any of the rest
five years, actually
It's definitely been multiple years since I've played The Stanley Parable but I'm not positive it's been five years so I'm afraid to launch it and try. :l
If it's on Steam, it should tell you when you last played, right?
lol, ditto
Ahhh, the easy obvious answer I missed. ๐
Wait, no, I did try that before! I don't actually know what this means for when I played it last.
Okay no, checking achievements to see if that'll help me know.
It says Last Played when its installed I believe
it has apparently last played the stanley parable 5 years 7 months and 2 days ago
The achievements also tell me May 1st, we're doing this!
Achievements should have unlock dates, yeah
And I've also never.... launched the game twice, at all. I'm gonna get Welcome Back and Go Outside at the same time.
so you launched the game and played it for an entire tuesday without ever closing it once
๐
No actually, I'm missing the Tuesday one.
me too
apparently its the least achieved achievement
even the unachievable objective has 2.8% higher completion
globally
also am I the only one in here who plays dota 2 because 7.22 is crazy
i suddenly really wanna replay ori and the blind forest
i suddenly really wanna replay ori and the blind forest
I played it a lot a long time ago
But League is just better, and has characters I actually care about, soooo
Lemme see what 7.22 actually does
Yeah
Somehow dotas characters do not attach to me in the same way that leagues did
but the gameplay is so much more in my wheelhouse
also all my friends play it
or tbh I'd play hots
Its because Dota 2 doesnt really have much of a lore
They have some good VOs though
Like Timber
But VOs only give you so much characterization
I like Nyx assassin, but mostly because he's fun to play
Nyx nyx nyx
heheheh nyx
HotS was fun actually
I never played it much because I didnt like the random map gimmick
But honestly, it did a lot of things right
I never played it much because I couldn't convince any of my friends to play it longer than a month
did someone say DOTA
I did!
techies?
autochess > normal dota
no biggie ^^
hahaha
lol
Tinker was fun in Dota 2
Also
But I guess the big problem with Dota 2 is that it doesnt care about "anti-fun"
"I don't want these lemons.
I just want limes."
A lot of things in Dota 2 are just awful to play against
anything with mana burn
like, seriously, I only started banning drow recently because she was OP, but freekin' antimage and his mana burn would get my ban every game otherwise
also, as someone who plays a lot of puck and Nyx, hooks don't bother me ๐
I used to play Vlad in League.
Not to mention so much clutter Dota 2 kept because its just leftovers from the WC3 engine
Then I picked up a character like Skeleton King / Specter King (or whatever his name is)
Also, Dota 2 does not have a hero that is literally just a cat
Therefore, League > Dota 2
Dota does have one thing
that I have seen no other moba have
that makes it the best
Blink. Dagger.
my favorite League character is uh...
Jeopardy theme
What's its range?
1.2 second cooldown blink
is it like, half the screen?
Take that
does it cost no mana?
It might as well not cost any tbh
the cooldown of flash is 5 minutes...........................
I liked that one character that everyone was getting mad at for being a lesbian
You possess champions, hop between them, and heal them and throw out projectiles you change the trajectory of mid-air
the chameleon?
