I'm not sure if it's intended (and I'd imagine it's been reported) but it appears that the increased damage done by charmed enemies also applies to any damage you take if you get caught in their AoEs. Not a pleasant experience.

In the end I've decided I'll get the games on GOG... I suppose it's better to have offline installers. Though no Hades. Well, I'm still quite hesitating x). I just find it better to actually have the game vs rely on an internet service. Though I could just copy the files just like I did with Transistor. Welp. Me endlessly not being sure(TM).

weird games are definetly great, but they are not always the appeal sadly, it's definetly hard to cook up that does quite well. I liked Pyre too, but I do feel like them playing it a bit safer is needed to stay as well, company, but I feel like even then they are doing quite well with the game, considering they are making a rogue-lite game with more story-focused side, it definetly not as strange, but it does the job for it, as it is not as common, maybe they will make another weird game after this one. But hey, if they don't make weirdish games I guess it is alright, as I am already enjoying there stuff the way they are and if I will be really in need of much weird and stranger type of games I am sure someone will cook up one.

I mean that's how for the even smaller indie projects out there, sadly, for people who don't have as much way of marketing the game or get the word out about their stuff, it is mostly about passion, for at least a good amount of people seeing and enjoying the work, but even then it is probably the motive too for the most indie companies, after all, indies depend on how most will recieve it, since I am sure positive feedback and response is what drives even more so.

It surely is! But it definetly hard to achieve a great amount of following unless you are quite lucky with it, which is great when you are, it truly heartwarming to see when a good project gets a good enough attention, though it sometimes doesn't work so well, but even then, spreading the information enough you can is good enough I think, that's what I do mostly and how people view me as the guy who knows indies, but truth to be told I don't even go much on itch.io to know them all, I really just watch some youtube videos and search through the steam.

i think hades is far off from being a normal roguelike
there's so very much of the "roguelike" aspect it almost puts me in a daze
it's more roguelike then most roguelikes due to all the nice stuff that's in hades
binding of isaac, rogue legacy, dead cells, don't have as much as hades
which is why it's probably my favorite one out of the mix

I see more Hades as a secret friendship making simulator with rogue-lite attached to it, if to see it from view of gameplay bits seperately you can probably conect to other games. It stands out as rogue-lite due to it being one of the heavy narrative one, while other focus on adding the background lore and such, here interactions are more common, although there are some that did it (Wasted and Moon Hunters) this one seeminly perfected it with due to how big it is in such content definetly, while others kind of don't use it as much, plus it has much different resources to spend things on than simply buy a better gear or something, it has something that defines it more than usual, so kind of it gets tricky and interesintg, but alas it has more sorry for the cliche RPG themed spendings in hub, where the focus is to make much closer relationship with the npcs to know the story better and also gain benefit from it gameplay wise, but otherwise it follows the same sort of pattern, which as person who played many rogue-lites seen already, but it doesn't devalue it, hell in core of rogue-lites was always having some ideas that are similiar to the core of what was the esentially the father of all rogues, with adding in spice of other game genres. But anyway, the game is great and what I like about it, it has a more fixed value of difficulty despite the RNG, which sometimes, some Rogue-lites may suffer in during gameplay loop, the polish also definetly makes this game good, alongside with somewhat different artstyle from say pixel, as much I like such artstyle, it's always great to see some different one to mix up the brew.

So, this might seem strange but I just want to gush for a second. I was watching the 10th anniversary concert and was once again reminded of the awe I have for Supergiant. The writing feels engaging and beautiful. The music is absolutely spellbinding. The art is awe inspiring. Most importantly though, it absolutely amazes me to see the absolute passion on display. The investment in all of the animations, all of the updates, all of the stories blows me away. It is as refreshing as a pool in Asphodel. i will say the biggest point in bastion's favor: story is much better

well after 16 runs I finally managed to beat Hades, Hades is your best game yet Supergiant. I felt Pyre was not challenging enough but Hades has the balance expectionally right from the start, and after these first runs learning the attack patterns you can ramp the difficulty up yourself. rails are "paths" for your camera to follow (think old silent hill games and how the camera there followed your character on a set path)
clamps are like the end bits of that rail? a point after which the camera can't move any further

did some surface research on greek mythology and illustrations of greek gods and i have to say Hades as an Olympian is extremely accurate to his ancient greek image
