Hello, just joined this chatroom

Is the below bug already known and reported, or is it just me?
I'm experiencing a pretty consistent bug where if one of my people walks into the space where an Imp has recently used their explosion aura-cast, my person will die.
I suspect it may happen in reverse, too? because I have also seen enemy people randomly die out of nowhere. But I'm not sure that it's because of my Ti'zo's explosion.

Pyre imp bug (Supergiant Games)

These two things happened about a minute apart from eachother, in the same match. I was recording to demonstrate the bug, which happens pretty consistently.

The first clip is intended behaviour, the enemy imp's aura cast disintegrates itself and the player's character inside the area. Then another of the player's characters enters the area and ...

I can screenshot the masteries and talismans if you'd like, but I'm pretty sure it happens regardless.
The enemy characters don't have any talismans

I just noticed that in the first case, where the bug didn't happen, the imp triggered Safe Return (letting them come back to life immediately). But the second time, it did not.

This fits with my intuition that the explosion zone remains dangerous until the imp comes back to life.

Not exactly accurate. The enemy Imp’s Safe Return triggered both times (it set their respawn timer to 2 seconds), but for some reason the little Safe Return icon didn’t show up

I’m guessing that’s because my Ti’zo has the advancement of exploding on death, so the enemy imp may have died because of that instead of dying because of their own aura cast.

I saw that in the video and did that as part of my tests, but no, in this case both your Tizo their Imp die to the opponent Imp's cast

I even tried picking 2 Imps on the opposing side and having one die to Ti'zo's on-death cast, but in my case, the Nightwing team were able to walk through that area just fine

Wow a wyrm main! I struggle to play wyrm against the game AI, I'm surprised there is a serious wyrm main. I basically just use Wyrm for racing to the pyre after disintegrating the enemy team.
Also for some reason the enemy AI struggles a lot with jumping over the wyrm's trail.

I'm not a fan of all titan stars but adding more and more each liberation rite and by the end you might just be comfortable enough and said screw it and turn on all 12 anyways

I think it allows the enemy team to skip or speed-up various crucial animations which allows for several techs that a player isn't able to do. For example if it thinks a pyre dive is going to blocked, it throws the ball to an ally mid-jump. And then if the character survives the dive, it passes the ball back and plunges

This past year I ran an 8 month D&D campaign set in a (somewhat modified) Downside! Among other adventures, my players saved caravans from Howlers in the valley, explored a shrine to Lu, navigated the reefs of the sea of solis, stopped a group of former bloodborder soldiers out for revenge from sieging the nest of Triesta, infiltrated the isle of Khalymer to steal the tattered mantle, and ultimately confronted the cult of Yslach.
My party was a cur warrior exiled for framing a powerful merchant, a sap cleric exiled for insurgency, a crime wizard exiled for necromancy, and a self-exiled harp Druid. We went from levels 3-16 over the course of 8 months.
Was very fun to get into the details of the world outside of the rites, it’s a really cool setting even without them. Who is living in those little hiding-holes we see in the background of the Valley? What sea-faring infrastructure popped up after the deathless tempest was tamed? Things like that were explored.

Stats were largely homebrew, we were running Daggerheart and there just isn’t that much content for it as of now.
If what you’re asking is game material versus my own take on the downside, I quickly found the game asked more questions than it answered and the downside became a skeleton for my own details. I did rework the map, scribes, and titans minorly, and set the campaign in a Downside where the rebellion failed, so there’s a critical mass of exiles to allow a patchwork civilization to form. We met Rukey as mayor of a more established Hollowroot, and Bertrude as her merchant self, then Hedwyn, Fikani, Mae, and Volfred were scattered but never encountered.

If you install on linux, you'll get an error related to libfmodstudio.so.8

This is easily fixed. Simply go to your terminal and input these two lines by copy paste

cd ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Pyre;
execstack --clear-execstack ./lib64/libfmod.so.8;

If you installed it through a different platform than Steam, then instead of the directory in the first line, go to wherever your pyre-linux folder is in your file browser, and copy the path to the directory.

Debatable, I’d say - they’re 100% in the conversation but Harp, Sap, and Savage all have a lot of tech too

I personally don't think sap is all that complex tbh, once you figure out that he's a big dumb beatstick his gameplan is quite straightforward and he does like 3 things

Harp and savage id say are also in the running, id have to sit down and count all their different gimmicks to see just who has the most tools, but just goin based on vibes I still think wyrm has more buttons

I think a real testament to the game is the fact that every race feels easy/simple enough to micro multiple at a time while also having enough depth/complexity to have skill expression and a real learning curve so as not to get boring.

Finally played Pyre for the first time and just finished it last night and wow, what a fantastic game. I'm kinda mad I put it off for so long, it was so much fun; the writing and characters and worldbuilding was excellent, I think Rites are fun, and I LOVED the way the story and 'epilogues' unfolded through my own actions. ;_; ❤️

Some of my favorite decisions were purposefully throwing two Rites, specifically ||against the Fate so that one of them could be liberated|| and then ||at the end against Oralech, letting him win and then insisting he go free when he nominated me||. The outcomes were so good.

Has anyone who got Pyre as part of Itch.io's "Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality" in 2020 tried to launch it recently?

I'm on Steam Deck - it launches, but then closes itself, and in the "Details for nerds" on the Itch app it says "you must buy this game to download".

Thanks! I tried launching it from Steam as a non-Steam game, and also from the Itch.io app on the Linux desktop, but neither would work (and they have worked before, but it's been a few years since I tried).
