Rn, i must say, i defeated Sybil by turning her allies with Switch(), so they get aggroed, then i go for the back and spam Crash breach breach and then Jaunt away
My breach is enchanced with Spark and my Switch with Bounce

The first one or two times I did that fight I didn't use Switch(); I think I just used fairly standard Crash() + Breach() combo really. Dodging attacks can work with Jaunt() if you have it, but otherwise I think you should recharge quickly enough to just dodge in the planning phase

I’ve never had a problem with the game straight-up crashing, but disabling this did fix the serious lag issues I was having while trying to stream Pyre.

By using the function in the different slots, since you have the active ones, upgrade ones, and the passive ones. And once you use a function at least once in a fight, you unlock the additional description
And well, once you install a function in an upgrade slot and use its associated active function once in a fight, you get the info

Yeah it's quite involved, but most combinations yield something useful in the end. Try out the sandbox challenges, as some of those give you a preset of functions which can wet your appetite for some more unusual combinations

Sorry for being kinda late to this discussion, but I kinda think "I will save you" fits the corrupted version of In Circles more then "I won't save you." Spoilers for Transistor's plot.|| It seems to be implied that the corrupted version is Sybil singing the song, not Red (the voice change fits it, and that voice also kinda matches Sybil's in-game voice), and if that's the case it wouldn't make sense for Sybil to say "I won't save you." Instead she would be saying "I will save you", and her method of "saving Red" is killing her before the Process deletes her from existence.||

What I find so fascinating is that throughout the whole game, players seem to have full control over Red, her choices, and actions. It's only until the end where the player loses complete control and Red gets the final say. That is until you choose to recurse. It's almost like you're stealing her final and only choice and having her go through everything again. It's almost like fulfilling the "when everything changes, nothing changes" theme that's so prevalent throughout the game.

I just watched the Transistor documentary and it really makes me appreciate so much more the process and the growing pains that it was for SGG, if that makes sense. I always enjoyed the nicer looking games: polished, pretty graphics and music like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Basara, Overwatch, but it often just felt like style divorced from the narrative; I think Transistor really was the first time I saw a game which integrated its style right into its narrative. The documentary really articulated what younger me (I think I was 17 when I played it) noticed off the bat, that the story belonged to Red and how each artistic flourish and musical number was hers. Even without a voice I liked her, and being reframed in hindsight to know that it was indeed a choice was very satisfying.
And while in hindsight, it's easy to say 'as usual SGG delivers on the audio experience, voiceacting and music and all' I think it's such a marvel that such a sonic identity exists at all. Whoever that makes the audio decisions has a particularly deft touch to how sound evokes feelings and that's amazing.
Also it was the first time where I encountered skill stacking that worked and produced different outcomes in the way that was logical and visually engaging beyond the stats. That made me super excited for game mechanics and tactical play for the first time, cause usually those parts I slog through and suffer to get to the narrative.
Sidenote: I enjoy also games/narratives that indirectly teach you about certain IRL fields, the foundation of coding language here kind of helped me visually conceptualize basic coding that I later took in uni so, thanks lol
The medium is the message; all the intricate little thoughts and clever metaphors was used to bolster the story, making the sum greater than its parts.
TL;DR: It's the first time I've ever seen a game so beloved in its making. I'm glad Transistor exists. Thank yalls for making it.

Transistor was the Supergiant Game that had the most impact on me. I instantly fell in love with the art, atmosphere, and music. The gameplay was nothing like I've ever experienced up to that point. I was blown away by how you could combine functions and choose ones to add to your arsenal. That coupled with the Turn planning system, made you able to approach battle interactions in a variety of creative ways only very few games do well. Like in the song Paper Boats, I think I will always find Transistor in my heart.

The Camerata terminal startup sound is in the Ringtone pack TheCakeFlavor just posted a link to. Its the "OVCTerminalStartupAdmin" one
So I didn't actually have Asher's audio extracted from the game files, but I did end up getting that done. I also have a transcript of all his lines. Time to see what sort of voicemail message I can make!

I've found that that combo should one-shot anything in the game, but anything for which that much damage is necessary (Jerks, Sybil, Royce) has health gates and you've just burned your entire Turn and now the Jerk is still healthy and now he's gonna eat two Functions.
(I still run it every time)
