hits that apply scorch apply a certain amount but don't do damage on-hit; if an enemy has any scorch on them they'll "drain" that scorch to take DoT until it's gone, if that makes sense
but scorch is also complicated since depending on your boons/duo boons in works kind of differently, and I don't want to spoil things

if you hit an enemy twice, they'll have 120 scorch on them
every second, 100 scorch will be turned into damage (which can benefit from universal damage% buffs), so you'll get 2 seconds of damage before you run out and would have to reapply it
scorch is capped at 999

pyro technique makes scorch tick (and get consumed) faster, and the duo boons with ||aprhodite and demeter|| change how scorch application matter

with the ||aphrodite duo it doesn't get consumed when dealing damage so long as enemies are weak, so scorch application stops mattering as much and you deal max damage so long as you have 100 scorch||
with the ||demeter duo you detonate all stacks of scorch when you freeze an enemy, so the goal is building up as much as possible really fast to nuke enemies||
and then with both it's more like the second situation, just more forgiving wrt how fast you need to apply it to reach the max

Do you feel this way about other aspects of life? Like playing a new sport, cooking a new recipe, studying a new subject…? There’s fun to be had in the learning process. That’s what the game is here. I’ve finished Hades 2 blind yesterday on the Switch 2 and I’m sure I didn’t do the most damage possible. You don’t have to play optimally to win. What’s important is that you’re enjoying your time spent playing.

no. Per run, there will be 4 gods. You can somewhat affect this, but the game will try to keep the same 4 gods in your run

His size is misleading, it really makes him a lot easier to hit since he never moves. You can spend most of the fight hitting him. You don't need to focus on the environment very much - his attacks are the main focus point. The head slam and eye projectile are the most dangerous attacks. For both, take a dash back, then for the projectile dash through it

Neither is "stronger". Death Defiance gives you more Life (220%) overall and protects you from insta-kill attacks. Strength gives you less Life (160%) overall, but makes healing 60% more effective and gives you a global 20% damage boost. They both have their merits.

you can also rely more on omega moves, and/or interrupt your combo so you don’t get locked into the super slow last hit. weaving in specials can be nice for that. also dash attacks are a good choice, esp with the right hammer

Doesnt seem to make a difference for Omega indeed, I was doing like 285 dmg on big mobs in the area and then same 284 dmg on one of the sirens in the boss fight, although if they have some form of damage reduction, then it may actually be the case that it does increase the omega damage

Depends on Aspect. If you wanna just facetank, Mel with a good attack boon can never go wrong. If you aren't 100% sure you can hit the 3rd hit in the combo just dash away and continue your 2-hit combo.

Use the special to apply curses but not much for damage.

Than Axe is much the same as Mel axe in terms of boon priorities, though your playstyle is a bit different due to Mortality being a rather big benefit to keep up. Also, it's worth learning that using the Special resets your Attack combo on all aspects
