technically no, but your save will be modified like said above, with all final boss resources deleted
i would recommend waiting just because that way you have everything fresh in your mind and there is no disconnect from winning the 1st time with the post 1.0 stuff though
cause currently you can win like 1000 times and the first win post 1.0 will be like the "first time"
Alr thanks
Im still at 10 heat on hades 1 so im gonna take my time to really 100% everything possible
wait so hades 2 is coming to switch 1 right?
just to confirm because I tend to be a little stupid
Yes
Is jades 2 coming to switch on release, or later?
i believe it should be on switch with 1.0
as far as we know its just coming to switch 1 and 2. "More info later this year" - april 2025
Gotcha, thx
Cast was super important in the first game
"+50%"
Saw something in the update notes about something resetting on the full release in exchange for a currency
wondering if there's any benefit to start playing the game now to benefit from that later or if it's best to start fresh when full release comes?
not really, the "something" is what drops from the final boss and you need it for the incantation that finishes the game's story. they just don't want us early access players that have a ton of it stockpiled to instantly finish the story before seeing all the cutscenes
you will rise again soon, sleep well 💪
can't wait to return to greece on 1.0
Maybe this will happen
I mean spoilers for sure but ||first region of the surface lol||
technically first ||region of underworld ||I think
hi, i have a bit off a weird question. i havent played hades 2 since the very first (and shortly, second) patch of early access. i told myself i would wait until full release to pick it back up, but ive been itching to play so badly that i installed it. but i just saw somewhere that they just released the last patch before 1.0 release. is the game mostly completed? im wondering if i should wait until 1.0 for a full experience or if its okay because the current state of the game is essentially the full experience
hey!
so we're expecting a full release to come out almost any day now! it can happen next week, or in september, or october etc.
but the game is pretty much 99% complete atp. All of the gameplay stuff is pretty much fully finished, the biggest main thing we're missing is the conclusion/ending to the story.
so you could theoretically start playing right now and it shouldn't mess with your experience as a new player at all
thanks a lot, exactly what i wanted to hear
if you played Hades 1, think of it as having EVERYTHING in the game be available except for ||going to the surface and meeting persephone and doing the ending stuff basically||
no prob!! the game is absolutely fantastic, enjoy it!!!
oh thats perfect
also idk if im the only person in existence to have this take but i really miss the original dash that had a delay 😭
idk why it just felt so nice and differentiated hades 2 mc from zagreus
yeah I dont disagree honestly, but the way it turned out is still pretty good, it still keeps a good bit of its unique identity imo
okay, starting my first run
thanks again
I love how it's very fresh to play overall
have fun~
Hi, I'm also been trying to hold off playing the game but since you basically says ot's 99% complete, I just wanna ask, is there a different dialogue each time you meet and fight the final boss?
like do they acknowledge that you already beaten them etc.
yep! there is plenty of dialogue already in the game
there are lots of side stories you can engage in as well
are the romance option also complete? like can you complete a romance in the current patch?
yep!
if you’ve played hades 1, the message right here perfectly explains what is the missing part in terms of story #h2-for-new-players message
wow this lilac person explained it really well I agree
i didn’t even notice it was you who sent the message
Ahhh, I'l try to hold off until Oct, I think I'll try Pyre first. Maybe it will get released by then
Silksong or Hades 2 first? what do you guys think XD
Do you think it will release this Oct?
I personally think it will release August or September
but there are some people that think it'll be October/November
There's not a single day that I haven't thought about Hades 2 XD
since Hades 1 was my first ever game that I bought with my own money and I loved every bit of it
- well the achievements were accidentally published a couple weeks ago which seems to have been a mistake, but it also suggests that these achievements are ready and just waiting to be released properly
- also the gameplay side of things is like 99% finished atp and they would take 3 months between upates to add a lot of gameplay stuff!! but this time it's just some story bits that they need to add which presumably takes a lot less work, so it's more so that they just want to wrap things up
- especially since they explicitly stated that the last patch 11 is 100% the last patch, so we're not getting any more balance changes until the 1.0.. and if that's not happening, what else are they going to spend time on if not just releasing the game, right?
- it's also very likely they've been working on a lot of ending story stuff for quite a while now, at least since the Warsong update iirc
these are just ramblings of a mad person though
June was the last major patch right, so maybe 3-4 months from then so that's why I was assuming it to be october
that's a common assumption yes
but because of the reasons stated above i dont know if it will follow the same pattern
but I am also high on copium and dont know anything !!!

maybe they'll release it during halloween since it matches with the aesthetic
I doubt it because if they're actually 2+ more months to finish a game then why not make 1 or 2 extra balance patches happen?
the copium is through the roof and i’m all for it
imagine they relase it on 2026 though
I can't really imagine a single reason why they'd do that lol 😔
2026 gang
btw, did the achievement leak you mentioned also contains spoilers for the ending or not really?
yes it does potentially so I dont recommend looking at it
for a weak definition of spoiler imo but everyone has different tolerances
it's not just the ending that has spoilers, there are other spoiler-y achievements too so it's best to just avoid them altogether tbqh
i know, i saw the list, imo nothing in it advances to the level of spoiler beyond people speculating and convincing themselves, but also u are right that if spoilers matter to someone they should probably stay away for their own peace of mind if nothing else
waiting for both hades and slay the spire 2 now that i have 2 weeks off is driving me a touch insane 🥲
well you can technically start playing hades 2 right now
mhm, i am 150 hours in
i love my time with it, but i do want to see what 1.0 is going to bring
have you given it a go yet?
the truth behind ||schelemeus'|| facade will be laid bare for all to see
no pizza hasnt played it yet
☹️
y e s, pleeease
proud to say i caught on to him first time meeting him, ||like everyone else who played H1||
i just want to ||wake up hypno||
same!
<@&456908176877551658> pls
lmao
(and apologies for the ping)
this new patch? haha
No apologies needed. In fact, we thank you for letting us know ❤️
Whoa whoa, can I get a dm about this
look it up in steamdb lol
How's everyone's night Im hyped for whenever the game comes out on switch
I put around 900 hours into hades 1 one of my favorite games ever
A lot of people are of the opinion that H2 manages to surpass H1 by a wide margin, it's really awesome
Wait it's that good apparently
and the rest just say that it's just as good, just different
I got a take a week off to fully play it whenever it's released
I've only seen the siren fight only because I loved the music tracks that played
It does play a bit differently to H1 so be prepared for a shift! it's a bit less button mashy, like you only get to have 1 dash in this game instead. But yes it is absolutely fantastic
I don't mind less dashes tbh
ok then you'll probably love this game too
Sometimes I would over dash in h1 and land in lava
It's very well-polished and there's a lot more viable builds in this game compared to the first
Plus boons don't have damage variance on them
it's got at least twice the amount of content too!
there is plenty of stuff to do and play with for sure
(This is not an exaggeration)
Twice the amount?!?
Yep!!!
Please look forward to it
I've put around 900 hours into Hades 1
you'll see what it means !!! :)
yeah i already have 200+ hours in H2 despite it still being in early access
Well gotta go I don't want to know a single mechanic about this game I want to be fully immersed into it
I'm trying to avoid everything bout it and I mean everything
sure thing~ yeah be mindful of the spoilers!!
there are a ton of crazy twists that are waiting for you lol
have fun!
Do we know a release date at all from enswitch and switch 2 yet
tl;dr any day now is technically possible, could be august, could be september, could be october
Nope, release date is "when it's done"
probably not later than october, but i mean anything can happen
My birthday is in December maybe by then I can pick it up for a birthday gift
I feel like it's 99% guaranteed it'll release before december 🤞
But it'll probably come out in time to be a Game of the Year award nominee
Even though Norman Reedus and the Funky Fetus 2 will likely win
I'm hoping this game I've been waiting for whenever it's been announced
I've been waiting
No way I dont think DS2 will win.. I feel like expedition 33 has a much much higher chance because it blew up so much
Expedition 33 was such a good game
or uh Silksong.. if that comes out
If
If.... 😔
Honestly u know what I would love a Hades and Hades 2 music track on vinyl
I haven't been this hyped for a game release since the Spyro the dragon trilogy got a remake
you could theoretically play the game already too, you know
I could but I don't have a PC
ahh understandable
I have a switch lite and Xbox one
And I'm really not looking forward to upgrading yet plus Hades 2 will be on switch 1 console
So I can keep using my old console
Idk how you live without a pc tbh haha
It's not too bad I work most of the time
But I am taking a siesta for about a month when the game comes out I got vacation time I haven't used yet
I got a plan Im playing Hades 2 when it comes out ordering Chinese food and dr pepper and just relaxing
I haven't had a soda in about three years
I'm so hyped for this game especially with everyone saying how good it is
Have a good night everyone
Doubt on that first part, though even if it did come out that early it couldn't stop the sheer power of the Funky Fetus
too bad hades 2 came out in arguably the best or second best year of videogames in the last 10 years 🙁
i really want an indie game to win game of the year
Yeah hades 1 almost got the GOTY if the last of us 2 didn't snatch that victory 😔
I agree, it'd be so cool and super encouraging!!
unlikely I feel, same year as Ghost of tsushima, doom eternal, ff7 remake
Silksong could have a chance too whenever it comes out
Balatro also got so close!
Wait hi not evil pronto
Hades 2 and Silksong both making it to this GOTY nominee seems unlikely I think
I think you're underestimating them a lot and overestimating DS2
I don't see them doing 2/6 nominees being indie lol
I can absolutely see that!!!
Geoff has been adamant about wanting to support indies more especially
And dunking more on the evil capitalist companies that do tons of layoffs
nah
You have no faith 😔
in geoff? nope
I mean I'm trying to think of what AAA has done this year that's award-worthy and I can only think of like DK Banannza and Split Fiction
Idk he invited the bg3 director again last year to give a proper good speech about the games industry and also he's been giving a free slot free of charge to one indie game every time too I think
Like he is trying to do better and make up for his mistakes in the past
At least that's what it looks like idk
I think doom dark ages probably squeaks in
Oh yeah forgot ab that

Kingdom Come 2 would be a based pick but I doubt it
also Nightreign might make it meaning Elden Ring has gotten nominated 3 times
I doubt night reign will make it tbh
oh KCD2 is Feb, too early for their cycle
Death Stranding 2 is prob gonna be on there 😪
probably lol
What's still up for release this year... MGS Snake Eater remake, Borderlands 4, Silent Hill f, Ghost of Yotei, Battlefield 6, Outer Worlds 2, Pokemon Legends Z-A, Metroid Prime 4, Silksong(cope), Hades 2(probably)
oh yeah Sakurai's new game, Kirby Air Riders
insane year for gaming though, sad cant play most of them cause I only have potato laptop
Play indie games, they're better anyways!
yehh, that's why I'm waiting for hades 2 and Silksong
Im currently on my Metro Playthrough (2nd game). It's actually good
I need to finish Metro Exodus one of these days
I'm on last Light currently and I heard good things about exodus
it has 100k positive reviews on steam so im excited
I've mostly been juggling AAA and indie games rn. Playing the Golden Idol duology as well as MH wilds and SMT V Vengeance
just wrapped up DK bananza
Speaking of indie games, outer wilds was such a good experience alsoo, I think it's one of my top indie games with hades and hollow knight
actually almost all indie games I've played was good tbh
I don't think I've ever really played bad games, just games I kinda fall off on
The only game I've dropped (maybe I'll finish it in the future) was Mass effect Andromeda
such a letdown storywise from the main series
i think 4 positions of GOTY nominees are locked (EXP33, DS2, Split fiction and donkey kong), i really hope that hades 2 can snatch one of the positions
oh yeah I should play mass effect sometimes, I tried the first game and fell off it in the first planet lol
just push through Mass effect 1, it's normal since it's a really old game and the mechanicsof the 1st game was bad. but 2 and 3 really improves it especially the exploration/combat
how many games are nominated in GOTY? I forgot, was it 4 or 6
6
Ghost of Yotei probably gets nominated
eh, from the trailer i kinda doubt it ngl
the graphics look oddly similar to ghost of tsushima which came out in 2019
oops
i mean 2020
Well the graphics is still really good in 2025 terms. I even think if tsushima was released on 2024/2025, it still gets nominated haha
those grass physics
i really like the game but i dont think it would be nominated if it came out rn tbh, its reviews among critics is quite bad and it was lucky to be in an arguably weak year
fair point
crazy that it has a 83 on metacritic
I think critics were just sick of reviewing big open worlds lol
if Exp 33 doesnt win, I will riot XD
I'm one of those edgy "yeah expedition 33 is aight but not goated" people
to be fair i 100%d the game, and the open world aspect of it is not strong :(, but it does have alot of other strong aspects so i feel it was unfairly reviewed
I probably put Blue Prince above Expedition 33, though Blue Prince kinda doesn't have a strong ending
you hurt my soul with that one haha
heard blue prince was also good, what is it about, no spoilers though
puzzle game
with a touch of roguelike
and it does those aspects exceptionally well
Blue Prince is a puzzle roguelike with resource management. Your goal is to get as far as you can before you run out of resources, while also solving puzzles for almost every room
puzzle and roguelike, that's a combination I've never heard of before
yeah its alot of fun (though considerably difficult)
I think the elements kind of clash tbh
i like puzzle games , I'll add it to my wishlist and get it once it goes on sale
the initial exploration where you're finding out new stuff is just excellent
I loved outer wilds so I'll probably like this
i hated outer wilds (pls dont kill me)
hahah, we all have our own opinions XD
(kills you just a little bit)
i do think its a good game tho, i just didnt connect with it
just like lot of people dont like Death Stranding, I loved it tbh
outer wilds is just so goated
tbh its so good i wouldnt be mad if it won game of the year
its a unique game that isnt supposed to work but does anyway
it also released during covid which was a weird coincidence haha
I wanna play DS2 but I need to wait for the pc port in 2-3 yrs ahhhhhhhh
its probably just a year
oh right it's ps5 exclusive
cant wait for hades 2 to fully release so i can 100% it
i had so much fun with hades 1 100% so im excited for this one
I think ive played hades 2 too much, because I tried to play it yesterday and my hands and brain were like: nope! Im burnt out on this!
I give it a week before im playing it like all the time again
I like talking about it but I haven't played it in a month or so
Meanwhile me.
rookie numbers
I'm at 199.3 hours XD
lots of long breaks between binges bc of my old lady hands
H1 I did entirely on Switch so I don't have access to those numbers yet but they're somewhere in the 300 range last I checked
for me there's just too many other games in the world to play!
I wonder if Hades 2 will surpass my full Hades 1 playtime
I've played the first for 840 hours more or less
Do you think Hades 2 release date will be revealed tom? (Gamescom)?
Hades 1 was a surprise release. I think there was a leak of the date at one point but there was no "The game will release on this day," type announcement.
Imagine silksong and hades 2 release date tom, i might die
I didn't think that will happen, but SGG would make me the happiest person on Earth if they make this
It would lowkey dissapoint me
Earlier release date means less polish and that likely most of the Patch 11 feedback goes unimplemented
Dunno
Unless they're like "oh it releases December"
I mean, there will be post-launch updates and for what I've seen the game looks really polished, and SGG wouldn’t release the game if there's some serious bug or any stuff
Post-launch will likely only be minor balance changes and bug fixes, not major reworks
Game's closer to 1.0 this patch than 10 was but if they go to 1.0 quickly still a lot of bad mechanics that get locked into place forever
Hm, if they release the 1.0 on this month (I don't think that they will) I would trust in their decision
Not to be argumentative, just trying to understand. I was under the impression that 1.0 was just about the main story, and they might rebalance things later too?
Yeah mainly story but we know there will be at least one gameplay addition
oooh
Btw, some datamined stuff of the Olympic Update showed material from the post-ending game
Plus patch 11 made some rework changes that could only get feedback this round
Shhh not allowed to discuss
I will not say what, if you want to know see go in your own risk
fair enough
there was a release trailer like a month in advance I believe
ah ye the launch trailer said "fall 2020" that later became the following september, didn't catch that
the h2 trailer's gonna be hype i think
idk how they're gonna top the unseen trailer
Dunno that
So would be nice if SGG drop a teaser
silksong date i'll only believe will happen when i hold the game in my hands
ah btw, is the gamescon like a livestream where they showcase the games? and upcoming new ones?
there are some shows / parts of it that are being streamed, like the ONL (open night live) today, and the nintendo direct showcase
Learning how to deal with this right now, I really gotta learn how to take breaks and let my mind rest with this kind of gameplay. Biggest mistake I played with h1 was overplaying it when my mind didn't want to
how do i progress eris relationship bar? no spoilers if possible, but i usually fight her on rivals if that makes a difference
she's the most common npc encounter, just do ||surface runs||
Btw this teaser completed five years yesterday
would be really cool to hear about full release soon
My guess is 1.0 trailer in September, release in October for the spooky season
Leaks mentioned 🤮
There’s a lot of stuff that might fall between the cracks balance wise
Was just to explain my point 😭
1- datamines can't be talked about here
2- it wasn't actual ending stuff
it was just concept art
Okay
Not gonna say the D-world anymore
Guys do you prefer to play hades on pc, console, or switch?
Im wondering about buying hades 2 on switch (when it came out) but on pc is much cheaper
Sept 4 Silksong, hoping Hades 2 releases a date soon
pc
(i dont have a console or a switch)
The same for me, don't have a console, but it runs really well on PC (nearly any PC, it runs fine even on my 8-year-old gaming laptop)
yea, this game doesn't require too much high end hardware yet still gorgeous.
I've played on Switch and Xbox, and I think that is more confortable on Switch
Hopefully SGG will not delay the release because of Silksong
i think if a game doesnt care about silkson, itd be hades
doesnt care as in it can rival
Hope so
theyll release when ready
I am counting that H2 will be something like my birthday gift (November 20
i am counting early 2026
But I wouldn’t complain if SGG release in september btw
I would understand, this is part of the process and alright. That said, I would be kinda discouraged if they did this

truth be told, im not that hyped for 1.0, gameplay wise we pretty much got everything
whatever is missing is just a nice lil bonus
I understand that vision in the EA pals, but I have not played the game yet
And my hype is very high since the first game is my favorite game of all time
hmm
im gonna wait for switch 1 version then
it will probably feel so much better playing this and devs gets all the money LOL
switch 1 version might not be great tbh. Hades 1 already had framedrops in some hectic sections
but who knows
@fickle ruin i have this game absolutely amazing
xbox game pass users are eating good, lot's of good games so far
this game is v well optimized, i just started playing today
ran at a locked 165 on only a 2060 super
i might just be used to the bar being in hell tho
i've been playing expedition 33, senua II, and doom: dark ages all v good so far

Same, it's what makes sense
I already have it on PC because of EA, but I'll get it again on Switch so I can play it everywhere 😄
laptop, but with controller is my choice :D
Definitely pc. Controller hurts my hand when playing hades
Controller makes me afraid I’m going to permanently strain my thumb lmao, so KB+M is my go to
funny because controller players don't use kbm to avoid carpal tunnel
"pick your poison" ahh situation
Wow did i just find keyboard users? Perhaps I wasn't alonr
kbm master race
360° attack my beloved 🫀
Wow I thought i was alone
I'll learn kbm at 1.0 if they don't fix coat but fingers crossed
Maybe it's just a really small selection here but I feel like more people played on controller in H1 compared to H2.
i imagine keyboard prob gives overall better control
as a controller user i don't feel like learning an entirely different control scheme
So you're saying I should stop waffling and play Sekiro on MKB since I can't get a controller to work?
(I played Pyre on MKB, for what it's worth)
I played all of H1 on kbm then switched to controller for H2 bc of the dev recommendation
Now I can't go back 😔
Some day I'm going to remove the "Controller strongly recommended on PC" screen from HLB's boot sequence.
I feel like both KBM and controller work in Hades well enough (both games) and probably depends largely on personal preference. Some weapons lend themselves better to KBM vs. controller but I think everything was designed to work with controller.
Personally I just like using controllers for non-FPS games when I can
yeah i have keybind recommendations for it too if you need em
I actually don’t use a mouse at all. I’m fully KB only
It’s a relic from playing video games during class for those wondering :P
But also, the auto-aim for KB only is good enough where you pretty much just face Mel in a vague direction towards any enemy and the aim snaps and takes over.
I'm genuinely interested on how the hell that works. I assume WASD are also for aiming, but what do you use for attack, special and cast?
UIOP
Shift for dash, U for cast, O for special, P for attack, LCtrl for Hex. I is unused for combat
Along with copious amounts of auto-fire bound to space.
...Where's your Space?
hornet will never be balli- 😳 😳
someone should make a melinoe ballin gif
though i assume it's a lot of work
very interesting setup
I was wondering, will the physical release of the game be released at the same time as the virtual one?
Or with some delay
I don't believe there is a physical version, period.
at least currently announced, so unless its a shadow drop at the same time assume delay, if it happens period
Hm when did physical switch 1 hades 1 drop?
Hades 1 was September 2020. Physical was March 2021.
march from what im seeing yeah
Playstation and xbox were August 2021
Is it just my luck or is the chance for grave thirst not equal for every weapon? I got 5 now and haven't even used all of them because the bonus is always hitting the same weapons.
True randomness doesn't feel random
Tbh they should definitely make it so the game at least tries to spread it out. I barely use the coat skulls and staff since it's always landing on the other three
Yeah it's exactly the same weapons for me too
If it's any consolation the grind in hades 2 is wayyyy shorter than it is in hades 1 so it definitely stops mattering at a point
but also sometimes true randomness isnt random
the "weightgate" issue from destiny 2 comes to mind where they had a bad hashing algorithm
Welp
That's good to hear, I had a ton of hours in the first game but still couldn't afford upgrading all weapons to the maximum.
Yeah I have 160 hours in hades 1 and have about 2/3 of the weapons maxed, maxed everything in h2 around 80 hours
Though right now I feel a bit overwhelmed with the amount of different resources 🙂
But I'm sure that will get better.
It does. And all resources are unlocked the same way, playing
theres just one of each type per biome
flower, ore, crop
and then some other stuff like psyche, bones, ash
all the resources and each of them is only used like 2 times each
excluding cosmetics anyway
Tbh the resource gathering side of the game is really underdeveloped
I hope the crossroads renewal project gets some of its prestige costs replaced with specific items you can find, that'd be a nice way to integrate it all together
do note it cannot pick the weapon you just used, so if you keeping using the axe hoping it gets bonus, it wont get it
that said, yeah random works in random ways, not how you want it to work
i just beat the first boss, really enjoying the improvements from the first game
hecate's character is my favorite thus far
Hecate is neat. She’s a great first boss too I think
also the enemies in this game hit hard 😭
i'm also terrified to face her again because ||i think i only pulled it off because i had a 25% damage boost against her from nemesis' keepsake||
:3
true, took some time to adjust from the first game, this game was harder for me.
I think I went back to H1 at some point early on in EA just for fun and I was quite surprised when I realized how much they are the same...but different. Like the core gameplay is the same but Zag and Mel definitely play differently and it's jarring going back after spending much time in H2
yeaa h1 feels more hack and slash while h2 feels more tactical
you're also not fighting rng as hard which is sick
Wooo I just got hades II im hype
enjoy the game, but remember the story isn't finished yet
Ok
Also I’m not done with hades yet so I’ll fill in time
A hades 2 console release date would be really cool to hear soon.
For console you mean Xbox/Playstation?
no I mean switch
Ah
It will launh simultaneously with the PC version
I think that next month and beyond the launch will be imminent
My guess is in October
i want the release reveal trailer. Think they are delaying because of silksong or not related at all?
Good question
As much as I loved Hollow Knight, my hours of Hades 1 dwarfs my time with Hollow Knight by a factor of 6x or more
I don't know, but if the game launch in september definitely will not be in the beginning of the month
I think I'm an exact opposite. Which is weird. Hades endgame is way more fun
Is there any reference to the antikythera mechanism in the game? I got a chance to see it in person a couple years ago in Greece and always thought it would be a fun item boon to come across in the game
Yeah, and Charon has one in one of his shops, Styx I believe
We don’t even have the pc release date
I think you miss understand. I played way more hades
I'm pretty sure I understood exactly what you said, and said that i did the opposite
I like Hades II more
I like both equally
Moooooods
Hades 2 is too good. It makes hades 1 look bad
disagree
Eh Hades 1 still holds up for the average experience
Unless you're doing high heat or speedrun
Then you start to see why H2 is better
Hades 1 is alr but i much prefer the strategy of gameplay in h2. It also just feels easier to make a build come together
I mean its pretty expected for a sequel to outdo its predecessor, right? xD
Im just jazz at the variety of boons and stuff
I've done 4 runs on Hades 1 (one that's close to 100%, the rest just seeing how quickly I can do a full loop), and spent a ton of time with Hades 2 in early-access... atm I love them pretty equally. I slightly prefer the overall flavor/builds of 2, but I found the bosses in 1 had a clearer difficulty curve (so far) + the full story was really affecting and so well done.
They do feel quite diff and compliment one another, but until we get the full ending/s story of 2 + final gameplay balance it's impossible to choose lol.
The only thing missing from h2 is the story ending, so my opinion won't change, i only value gameplay, story is but a bonus for me. Both games are good gameplay wise
H1 1.0 added gameplay. EM4 didn't release until then, neither did Hades's keepsake.
or ||persephones||. But those are VERY minimal in the grand scheme - and we aren't even missing EM4 this time
Because stuff was missing like gilgamesh, em4 and whatnot. So far h2 is pretty much complete aside from a couple of keepsakes, i highly doubt that will change my opinion on the game
100%. There was stuff obviously missing from hades 1 1.0 that had to be coming. Anything coming to h2 1.0 is pure speculation short of stuff from the achievement list that was shown a month ago
You can argue for a bunch of different things at varying levels of cope
but nothing is on the level of guaranteed like fists hidden aspect was, cause what were they gonna do NOT have a 4th aspect for a weapon?
TBF, with how much people trash Gilgamesh, you'd think they'd prefer it didn't
finally, gilgamesh 2
Ultrlamesh
So, I take it there is no release date yet?
Let anlone a PS5 date?
correct
ps5 and xbox will likely be a few months after the initial release
common console L
Console L?
L stand for loss, as in a common loss for console users. it's an internet meme slang thing
Ah, not sure I understand why getting it a few months later is a loss, but ok!
That said, I do hope for a more stable port this time around Hades 1 crash more than it should!
I just like teasing console players
but I couldn't imagine waiting a couple months to play hades II after initial release
he's so innocent and pure 😭
I know right 🥹
Well I got like 4 or 5 copies of Hades on different platforms and did the full early access, for Hades 2 I wanted to get the final thing, with stories and dynamics complete instead than in progress.
So I decided to wait !
My current PC might be able to run H2 correctly, but it will likely be better on PS5.
So I'll wait and stay as far away from spoilers as I can.
truth be told i suggest you stay away from this channel and server in general, stuff just slips out from time to time
theres 2 hades now??????
Yeah I've seen a random spoiler or two, even here. I don't think people do it intentionally, sometimes we just don't even think something is a "spoiler" and it's hard to know exactly where that line is drawn without simply shutting down all discussion. I 2nd this advice - the server in general comes with a small risk, even if you stick to this channel
technically the channel description specifies what a spoiler is
but people regularly ignore it anyway 🤠
oh you mean the text at the top of the screen? I'll be honest, I didn't even notice it (I may have at some point but it's grey text and doesn't really stand out). If that's what you're referring to, I kind of wonder how "post Erebus content" is even defined. Like, you go through Erebus every Underworld run but some things about Erebus can be changed that might be considered a result of "post Erebus content" 🤷
I'm also a bit of a Discord noob though so if you're referring to something else, I wouldn't even know how to check
I think when they say Erebus they're referring to fresh file Erebus = ie everything a player would experience before defeating Hecate
Yeah I think that would be a fair assumption
basically anything that is literally post erebus, or unlocked FROM post erebus content should be spoilered
Example, ||icarus|| is technically in the crossroads and can be argued as before erebus, but it also requires you to not only unlock ||surface||, but gift him a lot before he shows up.
the good litmus test of this was basically technical test tbh
Yeah I agree with this, makes perfect sense
Yeah, if you've never played the game everything is a spoiler
Can’t argue with that lol
so I can say that they should buff apollo
understood. apollo now is no longer a twink
If there's any question as to whether or not something is a spoiler, it's always better to air on the side of caution. This is the "no spoiler" channel, after all. Every other channel is the wild west in that regard, gotta maintain at least one safe haven for newer players
Just started playing this game the past few days and I’m enjoying the crap outta it!
We love to see it!
Heyo, whom to give the first nectar to?
Ideally you should be aiming to give it to all olympians, but as of later patches the thing you got for that is now locked between meeting the final boss of each route so not the best target.
I would give it to skelly though, just so you can have an early DD
i already got a DD from the meditation thing
would they stack?
i literally cant beat the 2nd boss ; (
she is difficult
don't beat yourself up about it, everyone gets stuck there for a bit
i keep getting to 3rd phase and then dying
which is really annoying cuz i keep losing when she has like 50-100 hp
any idea what weapon might be the best? rn im using sister blades but they feel bleh since melee
absolutely fine there, just don't use omega attack since it just hits her shell
mel daggers can be upgraded to do backstab damage which will really help with tearing down Roxy since she can't turn
You already got good advice, I'll just add that it's important to not get too greedy with your attacks. You don't have a time limit, so there's no rush. Early runs are a good opportunity to get a feel for each boss right - don't put too much pressure on "winning". It will get easier over time as you learn each fight and upgrade things, but it's harder to learn when you try to zerg rush the boss. You can dodge everything, and until you're comfortable with the fight, avoiding getting hit should be a higher priority than doing actual damage (it will come more naturally later so that avoiding getting hit is 2nd nature and you can focus more on trying to actually kill the boss)
Also while daggers are totally fine and I think all weapons are perfectly viable here, I do think staff is probably easier. If you really like playing daggers though, you should stick with it because you're going to have more fun (and probably play better) when you're using a weapon you like. Don't be afraid to experiment with other weapons though!
okee thank you
Remember what channel you're in
sorry i thought i was in discussion
question, in as little spoilers as possible, can somebody please tell me if there are ||any more hidden aspects besides the 3 you first get on every weapon?||
||the 3 on every weapon are the non hidden aspects, there’s 1 hidden aspect for every weapon, for a total of 4 aspects||
thank you!
Also can I say Artemis has such a glowup I was like oh my gosh
Afternoon.
hey i just want to know if theres any info of hades 2 coming out after early access. i don't really like to play games until i can max it all down, so once im done with hades 1, i preferably would rather wait then go into hades 2 early access.
tl;dr: any day now!! could be this week, could be late October/early November
what would you say at the absolute worst of how long it could be?
the absolute worst is probably late November
oh alr im cool then
yep yep!
dont have to wait as much for silksong compared to that
lmaoo yeah I honestly want Hades 2 to take longer to come out now because Silksong is going to take me like a month to finish haha
and i still can't buy it... becuz my father just bought me hades 1 like a month ago
its not money is the problem, its just that my father thinks ill be addicted to these games
and he is totally right, hades 1, hollow knight, and a few other indie games were so fun
both Hades 2 and Silksong are insanely amazing games, so you can't go wrong either way!
anyways thanks for the info!
no prob!
What is Silksong? I’ve seen multiple references to it now
it’s the sequel to the game Hollow Knight. Has nothing to do with Hades 2, but it’s an overlapping fan base
Both sequels to hugely successful indy games which weren’t thought to be getting a sequel.
The result of eight years of hype for a single indie game

Whats the possibility of Hades 2 being released on Halloween of this year
There's a Nintendo direct in like 2 days
I've got money put away for whenever Hades 2 is released
It's pretty possible
I really hope so!
Does Supergiant usually announce the date of release for their games in advance? Or is this a “no warning, just release” situation
hades 1 was shadow dropped in a september direct
What’s shadow drop?
Means they just release it without saying anything
Or during the announcement itself
That's what they've been doing with every update so far, and since h1 did i expect the same here
I’m starting to feel nostalgic for Mihoyo which releases Genshin Impact updates on a strict 6-week schedule
The thing about no release schedule is you can't dissapoint people for being late
A problem Mihoyo solves by not being late 🫠
Sometimes you gotta push back, sometimes stuff is not ready, sometimes it needs a bit more time in the oven, I prefer a game delayed than an undercooked mess
Mihoyo also has many thousands of employees. They should be able to regularly churn out updates. When Amir and Greg have several battalions worth of coders and artists we can expect the same kind of work from SGG.
Let alone constant crunch and overworking your employees!!!
I don't even know Mihoyo's work culture, but I can guess that it's not as healthy as SGG's (because I've never heard of a work culture as healthy as SGG's).
Team cherry!
But anytime someone says "Just don't fail," I've got a problem.
I am unfamiliar with TC's culture, so I'm just being safe.
People, and every game developer is comprised of at least one of those, make mistakes. They miscalculate, sometimes bite off more than they can chew, etc.
Take the most god gamer here, put them in their very best game, and they will eventually goof.
Goals will be failed, deadlines will be missed. That will happen unless you have unlimited resources to eternally get more artists and testers and what-have-you.
True. For the case of Hades 2, even Haelian who is a real pro sometimes outright fails
mark your calendars boys and girls, september 25th
I need to finish silksong nefore hades 2 fak
Will the price increase when 1.0 drops?
1.0 is one month early for my birthday present, but i can't complain
probably? but they haven't said yet
imma just buy it next week after my birthday
"The Nintendo Switch 2 version features blazing-fast 120fps performance in TV Mode. If you get the version for the original Nintendo Switch, you can download a free upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version if you have both consoles. Your progress from Steam or the Epic Games Store can transfer via Cross Saves."
I love that 😄
Omg the game comes out on my birthday
Silent hill f next day and ghost off yotei on October 2nd, everyone is celebrating me 😛
its possible, as it has always been in the FAQ but its more likely to go down in price with the steam sale going on since its gone 10% off every time for major updates and sales
Is the digital switch copy also a Nov release, or same day with 1.0? Hard to tell from the announcement.
the digital versions of the game (pc, switch and switch 2) are releasing together in september and the physical versions are releasing in november
Sooooooo good~
yep! less than two weeks from now
I'm so excited! I've been holding off on playing because I want to play on my switch like I did for hades 1.
Is it possible to preorder or do I have to Remember? lmao
idk if switch does preorders
me neither, i almost never preorder games lmao
I'd recommend setting up an alert in whatever calendar app you use 😄
you see, there's a key assumption there,

me and my friend did prank a server we were in about preorders for silksong. my friend kept editing in zote into the preview images on the steam page but also editing in a "preorder" button and zote got more and more obvious but no one noticed bc they were confused by the preorder button not being there for them
he edited one for me, too. then i panicked bc i'm a mod in that server and i remembered after posting the "no misinformation" rule
but one of the other mods pointed out the zote in mine so it was fiiiiiine
So i just watched the direct September 25th
I'm so hypeeeeeeed
I thought it was gonna be later this year
Two weeks to go
Oh yeah plus I just looked on the switch store it's 30$ that's a great price
Oh dang 1.0 on the 25th
September 25 babyyyy
YOOoo
Yeah man we eating good I’m hype cause my sister got a switch two and can play this game
We are soo back
Let's gooooooooooo
I already couldn't play silksong yet because of another game, now i'm wayyyy delayed
this implies it was over at some point
I finished hades1 3 months ago so i kinda didnt wanna jump in yet hehe
taking a few days off for this game
I’m in the middle of hades one I have the early access version in my steam deck
But my sis is a hades fan and she gonna get hades two on switch day one as she planning to preorder it
I said top player, not some influencer.
I'm so ready I've got two weeks of pto I gotta use I'm gonna order Chinese food and some strawberries and cream Dr pepper and just play Hades all day
I'm really glad they ported it to Nintendo switch 1 too I have a switch lite I play on
Quick question why does hades two have so many buttons
like for general combat or other stuff? cause combat is p much the same buttons as h1
Really?
Care to show your button mapping
Cause I feel overwhelmed by the control map and I dunno which ones are relevant aside the basic ones like cast and specials
lmb attack
rmb cast
m4 special
space/shift dash
e interact
f hex
I use controller brother in steam deck
But thanks
oh yeah I've seen people change lots to be on bumpers and triggers to play stuff that dashes a lot and still needs to attack and special, I wouldn't know myself, hopefully someone with controller schemes can chime in
re-map cast and dash (sprint) to shoulder buttons
hey all, just saw the awesome news about the release date - is hades 2 going to be releasing on playstation 5 on launch? it kinda didn't look like it from the trailer but i just wanted to see?
It will not be on PS5 at launch.
Ah, just switch and switch 2?
But the digital version? The physical version will be on Nov 20?
Yes, the game will launch download-only.
Ach, I only have a switch and ps5, but I don't want to do the disservice of playing the game in anything other than 120hz!
I might need to finally get a switch 2 for it
I tanked Mario Kart World across the jaw and didn't flinch. Kirby Air Riders looked at me funny and I went down. Oh, it also releases on November 20th.
Good year for the Switch 2.
game is 120fps in docked mode I think
idk the specifics past that
It'll be interesting to see if it'll be 4k120fps - it seems too much, so maybe 1080p 120fps
I wonder if Hades 2 benefits a lot from higher res in the first place, since a lot of it is 2d art assets
Good point!
2 weeks 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭
I haven't played the game for over a year now. I looked into the Early Access right when it launched but then thought I would save the rest for the final release which is now so close. I since have gotten a Switch 2 and would love to play it on there since I already played Hades on the Switch 1. But I guess there is no way of transfering that license of anything, right? I would just have to buy it again on Switch 2?
if u mean going from steam to switch, yea i think ur gonna have to buy h2 in eshop again
standard for most games iirc
Yeah that's what I figured. Bummer. But I guess I will do that. Would you say Hades 2 is as good as the first one? I loved the original and really enjoyed what I played of the EA but as I said I have only played like 10 hours in it and decided to wait for the full release then. So I have no idea what and how the game has changed since then.
it's also not really a "license" cuz buying the game should mean complete ownership of that game copy but uh that gets into an entirely different issue
o yea h2's super enjoyable i'd say, it's got a ton of content i think u'd enjoy
Do we know if there is any new content coming with the 1.0 update?
the ending of the game
1.0's gonna be all the (remaining) story stuff, then prob all the good polish etc etc
But any new zones for the runs?
I remember how story progressed in the first after every run. So is it "just that" or is there also something missing in the run. Like a zone or boss?
i believe all the runs are gameplay complete rn
So I guess taking another look at the current version can't be bad
Even though I have to admit that I forgot most my playing time from last year. I'm terrible at remembering that stuff. Ask me about a quest in a game I finished a while ago and I won't remember 😄
lol fair, tbh it might be worth just holding off until two weeks then so that u get to have a basically fresh start with a properly full game
i think i'd phrase in terms of the runs don't have anything missing for gameplay, but we don't know if some new stuff is going to sneak in with 1.0. and if they do like with hades 1, there'll be some things added after launch
mhm, i'm just taking the question very literally of "any new zones for the runs", which i heavily doubt that the current run formula will change atp
maybe a miniboss here and there but that gets into speculation/guessing territory so eh not worth thinking about
Really? Haelian is not a top player?
i mean haelian's a really strong player overall, even if he doesn't play ||high fear|| on the regular he's still got a pretty good grasp on the game i imagine
He's good but he's not "One of two players worldwide who are capable of completing Hades 1 on 64 heat" level
Still good enough to leave most of us mere mortals in the dust, of course
Maybe I'm biased since he is way better than me
Haelian is genuinely very good but he's not one of the best of the best rn, no. Though the distinction is only worth making when people are taking his words as gospel, he is still very good.
Will the price increase in steam for hades 2 once 1.0 is ready?
To Supergiant games, I just want y'all to know.
I look forward to later this month with great interest.
if i had a nickel for every time a super popular indie game sequel was given an unexpected trailer that showed a release date 2 weeks from then, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice
Hyped.
Haven't touched the EA after the final region dropped so now I'm looking forward to start fresh on a new save
Hi all, I haven't touched Hades 2 at all except to set the display settings.
Do we expect the introduction of the game to be different come the full release?
nope, we expect everything until your first win to be the same
there are rumors of a secret fight similar to Charon's hades 1 fight to be added, but even if so, i don't expect it to be accessible early
"First win" meaning "first exit" in terms of Hades 1 ?
First full route win, so similar to beating REDACTED in hades 1
a few of my personal recommendations:
special on right click, cast on side mouse button, auto sprint set to on
a few of my personal recommendations:
play on a controller instead
😌

So it wasn’t only me that caught off guard
does anyone know what quality the switch 2 version will run at for 120fps? considering getting a switch 2 so i can play on release weekend but not sure how it'll be - though if we can get 1080p at 120fps, that would be huge
1080 120 only in tv mode
oh cool, i didn't see that bit! where's that from? TV mode for 1080p 120fps is amazing!
the full FAQ on their website
Supergiant Games is a small independent game development studio in San Francisco, known for its award-winning titles Hades, Pyre, Transistor, and Bastion.
Hey all. I was just wondering if anyone knows when in the day Hades 2 is gonna release in each timezone? I mean I'll find out on the day I guess, but if possible I'd like to know when I'll have access to it
and sometimes in my timezone it's a whole day later cause it happens at like 3am
dont think anyone knows any time yet, were still 10 days away
that's fair. I hope we get something concrete before the day. did the patches come out at a set time during the day?
historically patches come out around 12pm-2pm EST
gun to my head as a full release i would bet on it launching when the steam store updates at 1pmEST
okay. that'd be like 8pm for me
entirely possible its like an hour earlier though, but i highly doubt before that
Guess I’ll take the following Monday off - can’t take the 26th off.
Who are your favorite people to watch Hades content on YouTube?
Haelian and Boated are great. I mostly watch these 2 for H2 content.
boated 🙏
boated, only the high difficulty runs
the humble frog man cult when people ask for h2 content creators:
idk man the ||62 fear|| runs go kinda hard
his “fun runs” are also indeed, fun to watch
Shoutout to the east coast with the est
How grindy are people finding the resource gathering? I’ve heard from a friend it can be pretty bad. Is it notably worse than Titan’s Blood?
excluding a few specific upgrades it's pretty chill
They made resource gathering way better but if you want to unlock everything its still gonna take tons of runs
that part in specific is much better than Titan’s blood
Is it still tied to slowly increasing difficulty? I kinda liked that
Or is it just “grind runs until you get what you need”, which is much less satisfying
without spoiling, there are multiple ways to gather the resource that upgrades your weapons. both the old way and new ways
Yeah you dont have to but it speeds up the process by a massive amount if you increase difficulty
it kinda depends
like overall its probably objectively more grindy in a vacuum
but its not like.... GRINDY
you'll just find yourself really needing a specific resource that won't god damn spawn
since its not guaranteed
Uuuugh that sounds actively terrible lol
Its not bad really
yeah most of the time you actively have zero issues
Its more grindy in a vacuum because there's more things to spend resources on
BUT i guarantee at one point or another you will find yourslef missing one or two specific resources and need to play one of the paths multiple times to collect that amount
for like 90% of things you'll just automatically collect stuff on your runs and then buy stuff as it comes up
think like the early hades 1 contractor stuff where you need to prioritze what to spend your resources on first
thats not an issue and is actually kinda fun
the problem comes in when you need like 5 X and that region has multiple encounters in the same room so the chance for a resource doesn't refresh betwen encounters leading to you only getting 1 X that run
Yeah, that sounds icky but otherwise it’s probably fine
Like waiting for ||Dusa||’s quest to work in H1 (or anyone else’s lol)
It's soooo much better. You're gonna max yourself in half the time. I have 50 more hours in hades 1 than hades 2 but in hades 1 I'm only like 70% to fully upgraded, hades 2 I've been fully upgraded for a while
I actually enjoy the resource gathering. way better than titan blood imo
gathering iron kinda sucks
not bad at all imo, its one of the most simple "grinding" systems with ways to reliable get what you want. its quite enjoyable to me
two quick questions:
- will the price of the game change on release
- is the 1.0 release just early access plus an update, or is early access only a part of the whole game
i dont know about the price, but 1.0 means the game is coming out of early access. it is the full release of the game, so it will no longer be in EA
my question is regarding the amount of content in early access and in 1.0
how do they compare
for example, bg3 on early access was only act 1, then the game released with 3 acts
oh well no one could possibly answer that for you as we can't see the future but generally speaking the game in early access is like 95% complete, most major gameplay elements are done. i assume the most major changes will be adding the endings and all character interactions relevant to that. but who knows they may surprise us with some cool new gameplay stuff as well
definitely not as big a change as bg3
their ea qna on steam says price will stay the same
the gameplay is complete, all regions, all difficulty modifiers, all hidden aspects. it's just the story and character quests left
for a hades 1 comparison, imagine if after your first win, you just died and couldn't go see Persephone, most characters hearts would cap out at 4 and you couldn't gift them more nectar
your can do that with 10 characters in the current version, and yes those are post Ephyra so you gotta spoiler them
Idk how to do that I just deleted the message
add || on both sides of the spoiler part
| | twice without the space, once at the start and once at the end. ||like this||
Oh so like this. Like this.
you can currently get a max bond with: the romancable characters which are ||nemesis, icarus, moros and eris|| and these people ||chaos, narc, ares, selene, dora, heracles||
@jagged marten right click on my message and copy it, paste it somewhere and look where i put the | symbols
1)$29.99 usd so same price
2)it’s full game
for people playing on switch when it's out, are you gonna transfer data or start from scratch
transfer if i can
Transfer what, save data from one platform to another?
yeah
oh didn't even know that was an option. That's nice! I assume you still have to buy the game twice if you're going from something like PC to Switch, but still cool to have
H1 had it, idk if they confirmed it'll be a thing here
It does cross save just looked up from there website
The 1.0 trailer goes inconceivably hard
ive rewatched it an unhealthy amount of times
(actually i watched videos of streamers live reacting to the hades 2 announcement in the nintendo direct but same difference)
Same, currently trying to pick good frames for wallpapers
Studio Grackle did this one too, right?
GOD i cant wait
line
I have avoided every thing in this game for over a year
Hey

The emotional journey of going to #hades2-faq is… sad.
“Oh no, please let it be normal physical on NS2… YES YES IT IS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
…wait I’m getting excited over the bare minimum.”

Really got me hitting that
So I've only played the first one but does Hades 2 take place after Hades 1, and if so then is it addressed? If it's technically a spoiler then I don't wanna hear it then
Yes, 2 is a direct sequel and takes place after H1.
objectively yes but not like a direct sequel in the sense of like GOW ragnarok or any continuation from the previous plot
Same characters, same setting(ish) but in the future
with other issues not shown in h1
just getting the 10th win(1st ending) in H1 is enough to play h2, and even then its not like it matters that much
Ah ok understandable. Asking since I've only escaped 3 times so I don't wanna accidentally get spoiled if I start playing Hades 2
you may as well wait 2 weeks for hades 2 launch
that way you get the full experience, for example the game currently ends in the equivalent of your 1st win in hades 1, except you instantly die after beating the equivalent of dad.
Ok cool
yeah is a whole separate story, but it does happens after the events of h1
Only one week now!
Yippy
1 week 22~ hours
this is funny but technically not allowed in this channel 😂
Fck sorry😭
especially with 1.0 right around the corner a lot of people in this chat have never touched the game
Aa Oki, so no spoilers here
you can delete the message now??
Done ^^ srry, i'm on my way to school lol
Yeah, if you If you don't want to get spoiled on H1, you should reach the ending before you start H2.
I mean not really? H2 doesn't really spoil anything from h1
What connects h2 to h1 is just the fact that it happens after the events of h1, but pretty much nothing that happens on h1 gets mentioned on h2, aside from the characters mentioning zag, which doesn't say much
at least, right now. im assuming the full release’s story will depend a bit more on it
considering some things they’ve set up directly has to do with last game’s characters
This is not true the ending of H1 is mentioned in H2.
If you happen to ||check a particular item in Melinoe's tent||, you can see it before your second run, even.
https://youtu.be/FnW5lkk8SOQ?si=BQPTfe-4khjFHc1K
me impatiently waiting for September 25th
He starts breaking his entire living room
Soon™️
wait yeah lol
I almost forgor
Thank you Supergiant for the built-in excuse to wait a few months
Physical gang rise
im playing the ea in steam soooo
I played the veeeeeery first release of EA, bled into the first patch, realized how much changed with the resource system in that one singular patch alone, and instantly went cold turkey on the whole shebang
the resource system has been changed since then if it helps (in terms of collecting)
i hope you have fun with 1.0
I mean I liked the first release, definitely saw some problems with it. But from there I saw how much it changed with one patch and was like “oh man I can’t watch this evolve I GOTTA wait to see the final form blind”
For someone truly and 100% new to H1, there are references to things revealed at later points of H1s story that would be a spoiler. People can debate on how significant those spoilers may be, but there's no getting around the fact that H2 does make reference to things in H1 that aren't immediately known when you start H1
yeah true^
Yeah 100%
I had to finish h1 completely before starting h2 since it spoiled a specific part
Oh that part
I think I just sold another copy of Hades
“I loved Transistor, but I’m not a roguelike guy and I don’t care about Greek myth”
“Before either of those it’s a Supergiant game”
“Sold”
…I’m doing my part?
This was me about pyre (though tje sports aspect made me give up,.,., near immediately)
I kinda hope sgg do something more interesting than greek myth roguelike next though
they do it well but idk, just hoping for something more exciting and novel
As a Percy Jackson kid (and an actual Greek at that), a new interpretation of Greek myth by cool creative people is on the higher end of stuff you can do
But I do totally get it
Yeah i love hades but transistor was what got me into SGG and everything about that game was crazy good
Hades 1 and 2 do tell some interesting niches of Greek Myth that sometimes aren't explored as much
But also sometimes do tell the stuff that everyone does know
The quality and quantity of stuff in the games is what makes them shine, but I'm looking forward to their next game with some more zest and spice, yaknow?
Greek myths probably the most well trod stuff. I love h1 & h2 but its near impossible to make greek myth feel new, especially if the the major pantheon is a major focus
Smth a la transistor... I think something thats a little less real time could be fun
Pyre was basketball in purgatory
~~would I be killed for admitting I only ever played SGG’s Greek games
Too many games exist in this vast world of ours~~
Hades was their breakout hit so it makes sense
their second breakout hit I suppose, after transistor
Meh, always heard more about Bastion before Hades
Guess stuff like that is relative to perspectives
Yeah
I think technically hades was bigger
And crazy to think ive realized theres a lot of people who now like.. Were simply not there for the bastion and transistor years
I dont think theres been a SGG games that wasnt a hit.. Just.. Increasingly bigger hits
Except maybe pyre? I dont hear of it as much but that could be bias
yeah they have just been growing, but hades was definitely pretty huge
It’s both weird and exhilarating to witness “those weird little guys who just make an increasingly diverse set of bangers”
Like, we got any Vanillaware fans in chat?
pyre was kinda unpopular I think
just looking at steam reviews:
Bastion: 17.4k reviews
Transistor: 16k reviews
Pyre: 5.4k reviews
Hades: 132kreviews
and maybe the reason they launched hades EA so soon after pyre
Ans theres a 5 year gap & covid iirc?
I feel like theres been an exponential increase in game interest between transistor and hades which helps hades
Vanillaware is Japanese SGG without a Hades II equivalent
I can’t imagine what it must have been like for the SGG oldheads to suddenly get all the eyes on their goats after all this time
Let alone what their FIRST SEQUEL EVER would mean to them
I mean, both studios are responsible for two of the best games you can buy on the Switch- 13 Sentinels and Hades
Bro I live in the east coast and 12 pm is pain because I have class
real
Me and my friend are big fan's of hades, play it together a lot. We going to do a Hades 2 night next Friday. Can't wait!
Don't sleep on unicorn overlord either that game is peak
not sure if i should drop silksong for hades 2 lmao
do it
i don't even know what is going to win game of the year this year
I think the 3 contenders this year are Clair Obscur, Hades 2, and Silksong.
i don't even think hades 2 gets a nod this year is insanely packed
Well those are the only three I know.
hades 2 will absolutely get a nod
we have been playing EA for a while so it’s less new to us, but like as a game hades 2 is new and awesome
If The Last of Us 2 swept because of sequel prestige Hades 2 better get at least a nod.
even though it wasn’t that good
It only swept because of sequel prestige.
The Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, FF7R.
Part 2 had no business getting the press it did.
agreed
Oh yeah and The Ghost of Yotei next month.
we got clair obscur silksong donkey kong DS2 borderlands 4 is getting massive praise now kingdom come split fiction ghost of yotei hades 2
i didn't even mention ninja gaiden 4 that's coming out next month and doom the dark ages and monster hunter and south of midnight
this is the deepest year for gaming we've seen in a good minute
It really is, honestly.
so unless hades 2 is a massive success that can beat out those games i think it doesn't get into the game of the year convo
we also got deltarune chapters 3 and 4
(which I don’t think will be goty just saying good year for gaming)
I think it will be a massive success. most people who played the first will probably play the second
i think it's coming down to clair obscur and silksong
yeah expedition 33 according to some of my friends is like The Perfect Game
it would not surprise me if it won
and silksong is the perfect sequel to a perfect metroidvania
clair obscur is the perfect debut game
I wouldn't say silksong is a perfect sequel since it kinda doesn't do the stuff that I love about the original like the nonlinear exploration paths. Still great game but since h2 directly improves on what I loved about the original I think I like it more
And also because Sony's the main sponsor for the show, IIRC
TLoU2 took a lot of awards from a lot of publications, not just the VGAs.
Expedition 33 does the impossible and makes the French look somewhat cool
I love how the arcana is self built like each arcana is unique and you can build your own unique style
the innocence here is so cute.
just wait until lategame where ||you have like 22/30 grasp all preselected cause the others suck||
why is hades 2 not releasing on ps5?
because its not releasing for ps5
they're a small size team, they focused on pc and nintendo for the ea
While we haven't ruled out bringing Hades II to any other platforms, our current focus is only on the versions listed above.
historically, it comes to other platforms after like 6~ months
ahhh gotcha! appreciate the response
expect it to release next year probably late spring or summer
of course game could theroetically giga flop and they don't port
ah yes the 1% chance we do need to consider it of course ahahaha
not happening 🗿
Question for hades 2 players, just finished 1 including the epilogue and I was wondering if It would be better to wait for next Thursday before playing 2
may as well wait till then yeah
just 5 days left anyway
That's true, I'm just very excited to try it so my resolve to wait is slipping a bit.
But I want the full experience so probably better to wait
i would wait.
Gameplay wise its basically a full game already
but to make a hades1 comparison you instantly die after fighting dad
no meeting mom or any story consequences that come from that etc
Thanks for the comparison, Yeah I'll wait then
I’m scared to unveil it
it's not really a spoiler you can go ahead
Nah I wanna go blind
very valid
The illusion of choice
the only choice you make is do you choose the artificer or the lovers... 😔
free thinkers run max vow of void so they don't have to think
no, if you ACTUALLY dont want to think you run Approval Process 🤭
let the game do the thinking for you!
Hello everyone! This might be a stupid question but are there plans for dlc? I want to buy hades 2 at launch, but if there will be more content, I'd rather wait til it's all out! I don't want to google too much due to spoilers 🙂
There are no known plans for DLC, and its not really a thing sgg tends to do.
but they also didnt tend to make sequels either yet here we are
Haha yeah, that's what I thought also, but there's a first for everything!
they may or may not, but as far as we know this is the final content update, barring any bug/minor balance change patches that come after 1.0 similar to h1
all we know is that this is the 1.0 update and this is not a live service game
assume we may get a patch updating some stuff when its ported to consoles but past that who knows, doubt its anything more than balance though
Okay, that makes me feel better about getting it on launch then!
woah I'm sure <@&456908176877551658> would enjoy the money
So true bestie
Me af
damn, cant believe I missed out on completely free money
how do i support the devs now
bruh
I lost to the || Scylla || three times in a row
when she was one hit away from death
delete your steam account
make a new one
buy Hades II again
make sure it's not on sale
But i didn't get the free money
isn’t this the no spoiler channel
anything beyond the first zone
buy another copy to gift to your friends
Yall missed the joke
I meant how am I gonna support the devs without the free money from the scam message
refund h2 and buy it again
delete your friends steam account, create a new one for them, then buy it for them again
....
mortgage your house to buy more Hades II
continue to buy until you run out of money and go into considerable debt
put it on Klarna
oh
didn’t think that would be a spoiler
mb
ok
You think the hades two ost will be in Apple Music like hades one
i would guess it would since that’s one of the largest music streaming platforms
they should let me use the songs on instagram so i can be annoying to my friends about it
🤔
Hades 2 soundtrack has been on Spotify for a bit so probably will come to other platforms
looking forward to h2 soundtrack all on one album presumably with additional tracks we do not currently have (like how before h1 released we didn't have "on the coast" or "in the blood" bc those were story gated)
Also didn't have the third Asphodel or Elysium theme
ooh I didn't know that (started playing h1 just 2 months ago)
Ok as hades 2 is release on 25 September and first of all I have never played original hades and hades 2 popped on my feed and the game play I see is really good so do I need to play the first part or I can directly jump in hades 2 . And no spoilers pls
you can jump directly into the second game but playing h1 first would improve the experience
cause you'll already know some of the characters and everything at stake
honestly there might be even more content added to where you need to play h1 first, we don’t know yet
imo you should play h1 first
I want to play but I have been playing silksong I am at the end game but it will take we some more time to finish and then if I start the hades one ( I heard it is a long game , I love long games but I will have to wait for hades 2 a lot more)
But I think I will try hades original first
you can just jump in its designed to not really care if you have h1 knowledge or not
experiencing h1 lets you enjoy h2 more though with callbacks, revisiting locations etc
H1 is a long game but its only long if you want to 100% which is a lot of collecting stuff
or repeating slightly harder challenge levels
just getting the "plot" for h2 is winning 10 times ovearll
Ok bro thanks
Hey guys. With the console launch approaching, if I want to play the game on both Switch 1 and 2, I have to buy the Sw1 version and get the free upgrade?
i believe switch 2 edition will work on switch 1 too
