Holy smokes... That was the hardest thing in this game. The Great Chaos Above. It was literally the last thing left to beat in the game, and it took me over a week. I only reached Typhon twice before and I was almost dead both times. This time I was ready to roll when we started. I had such bad combinations of vows, boons and keepsakes that sometimes I died on the first boss... Btw I learned more about some weapons and enemies than over 150hrs of playing before I started trying to beat this. Time to take a break I guess 😄

Well there were some aspects that I did in one full try (such as Nergal, or Selene), and others that took a lot of tries before I got good / found good RNG (such as Medea or Thanatos).

Idk if I can say “This aspect was the hardest / easiest for me” and have that be useful, so instead I’ll say that the best aspect and worst aspect for High Fear in my opinion, right now is the first (Mel Staff best), and last (Shiva) aspects you get.

(Similar one for example is that Medea is third, Circe is second, Mel Staff is first. Also weird and a coincidence that the best three aspects in the game for high fear are the original weapons of the witch characters.)

Interesting I got my first 62 yesterday and my next goal is to beat 62 with at least 1 aspect per weapon. Morrigan seems stronger to me on paper, but I feel like the gain boon requirement make it harder to get a run going. Also going for Omegas gets me hit quite often.

What axe would you rate highest? I enjoy the play style, but they all feel a bit rng depended on 50+ fear.

If it doesn't have an enemy to bounce to, it just disappears, which is just horrendous design imo. The bounce range is also based on the range of the special, and since Morrigan's is abyssmally short compared to the normal aspects, it almost never bounces.

If the enemies are that close, you'll be hitting them all anyways, multiple times as well.

Look, here’s my perspective of Mel Blades after doing Surface. The reason why I rate it high, but not extremely high like Eos or Mel Staff, is because the +100% backstab bonus is a way to easily clear the early game. That allows you to then get a busted combo later on (e.g. Blasts, or scorch pyro technique, or blitz, or TK RK.)

The problem with Mel Blades then, is you have to hit that good combo at the end. And although it is possible, it doesn’t always happen. And also some combos then don’t interact as much with the +100% backstab damage (TK RK and Blitz do, but Scorch or Blasts don’t)

It’s why I still maintain it is on par with Morrigan, in that it has often times a better early game, but a worse late game depending on RNG

This run only won because of the special chargeup reduction hammer early on, and a racing thoughts. I feel this is a problem a lot of aspects suffer from (cough, morrigan) but when the gimmick revolves around omega moves and said omega moves take ages to startup and immobilizes you? Yeah. That's bad.

It is a sleeper hit in 1.0 (EA was slightly weaker). I still prefer Medea, but Persephone can rock with wider range of builds. You could try running a Heph Keepsake for Location 1 and you'd be surprised by the early boost. You can be way less picky with rarities too and it opens up different choices since a particular boon might poms to feel good.

I just did it slowly over the course of the past week and a half or so! Most of the aspects actually only took 1-2 tries, just didn't do too many runs in general each day

Also I made it harder on myself by only picking grave thirst weapons, hence starting on Surface runs whenever thirst landed on a weapon I'd already done all four aspects UW for lmao

This run was crazy. Moros torches, with zeus special and all the attack speed (see second image). Typhon's first phase ended before he had the chance to attack, one of his later phases too (the one right after zeus attacks him). The only big things I think I was missing were arc flash and king's ransom, but with jeweled pom the second isn't as necessary

kinda wish I did it in the other order, 15 aspects rivals 4 frenzy 2 underworld has been a LOT of good practice

I defeated unrivaled Chronos at my first attempt! The second phase went badly but the third was somehow the easiest. I was careful, ran far away and just threw my cast and special until I won.

This run had multiple first time stuff for me, 15 min run at 62 fear, 0 DDs lost, no armor, Sweeping Ambush with no Magicka Gain (was running Unseen, never stood still for Tranquil, forgot about it instantly after picking it up).
