After this run, I'm pretty confident Anubis aetheric moonburst (Supergiant I'm begging you don't even think about cutting or nerfing this) with Hitch will be one of the first aspect/hammer combos to complete max fear: obviously by someone much better than me who didn't need to rely on Renewed Faith at the Summit

Also side note why is Eminence on Total Eclipse actually good, I thought it was gonna be trash since they removed all impervious effects and replaced with armor but I guess I was wrong

By far my most successful attempt at a facetank Nergal build. Prom and Heracles were a little rough, but by the time I got to Typhon, I didn’t need to even try to avoid getting hit. I totally forgot to keep dashing into him to keep him Weak even, and it was fine. Between Dodge and Daze, I was taking like 1 in 3 hits maybe, and then I got to be impervious almost every time because my Defensive Posture CD was quite low

Also, I think this is my personal record on Infusions—all of them active and actually contributing

Another try with Supay Aspect and I tried Ares Rush this time. It worked FLAWLESSLY. The biggest pro is its scaling with levels! Zeus Rush adds funny 2 or 3 dmg each lvl, while Ares almost tripled dmg with 9 lvls. And Ares Duos with Apollo and Hephaistos are pretty easy to get.

But yeah I'm still kinda dissapointed with this weapon. The nerfs didn't really do anything to the meta I feel, it more just nerfed everything that wasn't viable even further. I was so excited when I was first saw the concept of this weapon since I thought it would enable us to tap into a whole new world of rush builds: issue is all the rush boons are pretty bad dps and scaling-wise except Zeus. Poseidon Beach Ball and Ares Double Duo kinda works, but they're pretty clunky without Dash Attacks and Greatest Reflex (Stutter Step could never), and so can Air Quality Demeter but at that point the bonus doesn't matter.

So here's to hoping that the other rush boons get the buffs they need but until then I'll gladly keep running Zeus on it

Heat Rush flop outdone by Heph blasts, I thought early in the run I'd underestimated it but nope: definitely awful scaling

I've now beaten Surface and Underworld 50F w/ Staff (Anubis Aetheric Moonburst for Surface and Circe God Cast Build for Underworld) and Torches (Supay, Zeus Rush + froth + Thermal Dynamics for Underworld and this for Surface), so 8 more successful 50F runs with the remaining weapons and then I'm turning off frenzy and going back to Strength my beloved for good

Out of all the skull aspects, I didn't expect to do it with Hel: it's my least favorite aspect out of the four. But when chaos, duos and Athena Renewed Faith right before Chronos bless you I guess anything is possible

And yes I was about to throw the run away the second Heph showed up, never even got static shock for Master Conductor and instead he really tried to offer me the Apollo duo with an 11 second cooldown 💀

I’m confused about the comment about Heat Rush having awful scaling because it narrowly lost out to Heph blasts. You had a very strong setup for the blasts, with near-guaranteed Chain Reaction double-hits on the lowest possible cooldown, and increased blast radius (and damage) for more Hitch-propagation. The comparison doesn’t seem like a serious ding against Heat Rush, which only has the advantage of the 50% aspect buff.

Am I missing something? Were you being sarcastic?

Heat Rush has a lot of issues on high heat surface which made the run impossible without the optimized Heph blasts:

1. It's completely separate from Hestia's stronger kit of scorch, so no duos or secondaries benefit it. If you try to do Scorch still, Denial already puts you behind and time will likely be an issue bc of reliance on DoT (even if you get Freezer Burn)

2. A lot of the dmg you see there comes from early in the run when I lacked other dps sources so it got to kill all the enemies: either regular encounters in Ephyra, Rift and maybe Olympus + Poly. It struggles vs Eris, Prom/Heracles and especially Typhon bc it requires them to continually stay in & completely be covered in fire. You do this by staying on top of them & sprinting through for complete coverage, but that just doesn't work w/ them, especially on Frenzy. Eris and Prom/Heracles don't stand still and restrict the ground you can cover, while you can't sprint behind Typhon. Plus constantly staying in melee range will likely get you killed bc it's impossible to dash through some multi-hit attacks without hits. Thus its damage falls off hard late-surface

3. I had to phial it and get lucky w poms bc that was the only way it scaled, but poms are pretty hard to get early on the Surface. Plus after 2 poms or so the dps increases fall to 3 and then 2. Did it for several runs and failed. Then I saw Heph and went for Bridal Glow: that was what made guardian fights actually possible. I suppose you can argue Heat Rush enabled Chain Reaction, but I'd def rather have gotten it thru scorch.

4. Top 3 rushes don't have these issues. Poseidon and Ares scale thru duos and allow you to deal chunk damage then get out, while Zeus both scales through duos/secondaries and allows you to stand anywhere around the enemy, dealing max dmg as long as you're close enough.

Heat Rush Supay is fine for low heat and maybe high heat Underworld since those guardians can be circled, but I'd stay away from it for high heat surace

The way I almost gave up right then and there when Experimental Hammer gave me Heaven Splitter, idk what Supergiant was thinking with this one besides making a parallel to Hell Splitter The run definitely would've been screwed if I didn't already have rapid slash

Nergal 46 fear r4f2s3 clear - back to back with the previous one. I actually ran out of time farming Last Gasp in this run, but Mutual destruction + Last Gasp + Hearty Appetite + Frosty Veneer really helped me to trade with Chronos. Don't like Dashing Heave on this weapon actually at all, I am so terrible at Dash Attacking for some reason.

Nergal now has to face one of Pain, Grit, Hordes, Wards, or Onion. I think the runs get a lot harder from here. Methinks for Nergal I will go Hordes and Grit first and then Wards last after Onion.

Thought the display would be the same at the crossroads. First success on Vow's of Rival Typhon, couldn't pass him, looked for ideas on the most braindead build I could do. This was just "mash the buttons till it dies". Aphro+Poseidon duo combined with Glamour Gain is fun, with Nervous Wreck it's stupid... and then you throw all the duo boons after... Ended up not taking more than ~10-15 per hit with 400HP to spare... I am almost miffed, cause I know next run without that cheese build is going to be hard.

Here's an amazing power surge run that came together and melted typhon in seconds.

Thermal dynamics, an epic pyrotehcnique and success rate were the cherry in top so everything melted really. This is 1 of the luckiest runs I've had and I've played a ton

THe only sad thing is power surge is pretty crap outside of a couple of niche cases like mirrored thrasher due to low damage when using Ω moves even with torches.

This is exactly what I use for aspects that use both omegas and I just activate furies instead of night for the rest. (I play on ~35 fear)

It can work. I do want to note of the top right corner, since usually that isn’t taken. Lovers (or Artificer for Underworld) is often taken over Eternity (though Eternity is a strong choice for Charon Axe), and Furies is often taken over Night. It’s not to say this build is awful or anything, just wanted to say that for aspects that don’t use Omegas as much (such as Medea Skull, or Mel Staff), this isn’t a perfect setup.

I think this setup is probably best with Selene Coat, since you want to quickly start the Godsent hex, though in that setup, I don’t know as to if OAttack is used as much over OSpecial, meaning that Night could be replaced.

Ephyra’s city area is all major rewards, so you’ll get more use out of Lovers if you take hits. In contrast, Erebus could leave you dry if you take vows like the onion, denial, and debt.

You’re basically set for a build in Ephyra, and get additions in Thessaly and Olympus. In contrast, the boosts are spread out in Underworld, which hurts when you’re also on the clock.

46 fear Pan Underworld Clear at Rivals 4. Yet another run where saving Artificer for Trick Knives farming ends up paying off. Trick+Dancing+Hera was actually insane this run at clearing Tartarus Rooms, and Weak + Daze + Dodge does such a good job at stretching the EHP that you get from Spiritual Affirmation (feat. two Chaos Souls), while Mutual Destruction + Grievous Blow amp the damage up tremendously.

This will be such an interesting one to watch scale because I think it really struggles early on in runs but this thing just absolutely destroys Chronos. Immune to time bubbles, blasts only need one attack to connect, and the sprouted special deals incredible damage. As usual, big HP pool and mutual destruction makes for lots of big numbers, I believe I hit Chronos with a Heph Blast that dealt 4000 damage at one point.

50F Medea, all I've got left for both side 50F across all 6 weapons is daggers surface and coat both

But yeah Medea is definitely the best weapon across the board (beginner, speed and high fear) and there's pretty large gap between it and basically all of the weapons minus three or four aspects. Like I was playing this run so lazily and should've 100% died but never got close

Whether that's an issue of Medea needing a nerf or other aspects needing a buff, I'm not sure. But I tend to lean more towards the latter. Medea's dmg bonus is definitely a little overtuned but it just feels good bc of special basically acting as a double dash. I've been pretty disappointed with the sprint system at high fear so far since it definitely seems like SG didn't change their enemy design from H1 to match the differences of H2. A lot of these weapons just feel like they don't have the proper tools to respond to everything high fear throws at you like Medea does

But I kinda don't have faith that'll be fixed atp if 1.0 is next. After my dagger surface and coat runs, I'm prob turning off high fear permanently. Idek if I'll play much of 1.0 outside of the story

This was a pretty wild run - took Aromatic Phial for Nimble Limbs expecting to be a Huntress weapon and instead I ended up winning with Night Bloom + Howling Soul Storm Ring. Very interesting run with lots of close calls.

Final testament complete! Shoutout to this satyr who managed to survive all three phases of Unrivaled Chronos, and in the process got Allies into my top five damage sources even though I got Sun Worshiper literally in the final shop lol

Tried the new duo boons and accidentally got a lot of accomulative critical % and other nice synergies:

For Crit: Raki 8% thanks to Circe, Mel torches 14% and and Vitals Signs for 80% first hit. I was tempted to grab the special % boon but didnt want to prime magik. Basically everything was getting destroyed first hit, antler for massive over kill and Hex Moonwater Saturation for 100% crit on the omega cast, the only thing missing was Heph legendary.

Self Healing, Apollo infusion (thanks Hera) and Blood Spree made antler possible and basically immortal.

Ripple Effect made me spam fine lines on top of the poseidon with arterial spray and success rate and Seismic Servo helped flood gain and Smithy Rush, altough I didnt really noticed it. Flood gain is underrated for sure.

On a side note had Ares cast heroic and nail coffin that helped, but wasnt the focus. Extended Family and Martial Art boosted damage and Poseidon legendary was the cherry on top.

So finally tried the Trick + Reaper knives combo which beat max fear seeded and uh . . . yeah, I can see why it did now. Trick knives already feels super great with the aspect as opposed to how terrible omega special spam feels, but once you get reaper knives? It literally looked I was just throwing 3 javelins

With this out of the way, only the coat (my least fav weapon) left for 50F runs. And after this patch, I am reconsidering turning down fear since it def reinvigorated how I feel about the game. At the very least I won't go below 40F. I may even consider trying to go for higher fear . . . but I truly just hate the lame vows like Pain, Scars 3, and Void (dream change would be to replace them all with something more interesting or rework but I know that'll never happen)

Sudden Burst + Sorceress + epic channel speed from Chaos is enough for constant Ω attacks and it melts through bosses hilariously fast, but then also it's 24 magick per use, more than once a second, and it sure does melt through the magick bar lol, I primed out vs. Scylla and was scared of doing it again lol

So here's the list of boons I had for my cast alone that got me to this point! Couldn't have done it without this too.

• Arctic ring on epic (Demeter cast boon)
• Winners circle on epic (forgot if its hephaestus or Hermes, but you cast your cast faster and it expires faster)
• Glowing coal (Hestia boon that allows you to throw your cast)
• Freezer burn is a duo with Demeter and Hestia (increases scorch damafe by 200% and gets rid of scorch)

Honorable mentions:

• Highly flammable (Hestia: +200 damage the first time a foe gets scorched)
• Air Quality (Zeus: minimum damage is 50 if you have 5 wind thingies)
• Tough gain (Hephaestus: shrug off 2 damage)
• Addled favor (chaos: +68% chance to have a rare boon)
• Steady Growth (Demeter: increases rarity of a boon every 5 encounters)

Anyways, that was an absolutely insane run! It was so much fun, and I just wanted to share how lucky I got and maybe pass said luck around?

This build is really only missing Lethal Snare but the combo of Flutter Strike + Spiritual Affirmation + Mutual Destruction + Last Gasp + Extra Dose + Heaven Splitter + Rapid Slash is basically exactly what this build looks for, and hooo boy did it deliver.

Shoutouts to Excellence for enabling Aromatic Phial to hit Mutual Destruction and also rarifying Success Rate, Spiritual Affirmation, Flutter Strike, etc. Very, very strong showing for the card.

This is a pretty straightforward version of what I think one of the best ways to play Charon is: Geyser Spout + Hostile Environment + Mutual Destruction lead to massive amounts of damage, and Tranquil Gain usually triggers while Melinoe is channeling her hex.
