My final aspect to clear both the underworld and the surface on 40 fear was Melinoe's very first weapon: her aspect for Descura. Circe removed the Vow of Frenzy, and it felt like enemies were in slow motion, making this final run a breeze.

Surface is wayyy harder than Underworld, yeah. If I were to rank the difficulty of each region on a 1-5 scale, the Underworld would be 1-4 and Surface would be 2-5 (well okay, surface difficulty peaks at Prometheus and the summit is more of a victory lap/DPS check)

yeah surface is much harder then underworld for many reasons. enemies are just tankier and nastier, bosses are harder, arenas are smaller

just for comparison, zone 3 of underworld is Fields. Giant open zones with tons of space to kite and train the enemies

I know that they can't hit him often due to hit box jank, but it hadn't occurred that giving them my revenge boons would be so effective. The prerequisite is a Zeus core boon, and from Hera its engagement ring or born gain or nexus rush

Only Zeus can give it, and it takes all your Hera boons and throws them away in exchange for +4 levels per Hera boon

55 Fear with Momus. The keepsakes were actually identical to an any fear run: god keepsake (hera) -> fig leaf -> gorgon amulet -> white antler. Had to use hecuba instead of gale for a more consistent erebus, kept losing to timer with gale/athena start.

The steam game recording caused me tons of lag when I had garbage wifi, then miraculously didn't lag anymore when I upgraded to good wifi. 4K 60 fps takes up about 4 gigs of space with the compression that Steam game recording does, and you can even delete the file once you upload it to youtube or something. It's definitely less quality than if you record with other stuff, but the lag issue seals the deal for me.

Kind of. You go in the steam app and it's pretty easy to set up the recording, I have it set to turn on the recording with cmd + option + K when I'm in a game (you can also have it automatically record when you're in a game). Then, use steam to launch the game and start recording. It saves to a designated location on your computer, but you do need to be connected to wifi for everything steam-related to work properly.

in fresh file, any source of additional damage is good no matter how small it is. beach ball is an aoe nuke in terms of fresh file damage that can very quickly deal with rooms and guardians signficiantly faster

I finally cleared the surface on 50 fear! Doesn't feel real, mainly because Possessed Array can do so much damage I no longer needed to worry about taking any damage myself. But whatever gets you across the line, I suppose?
I'd been attempting 50 fear for four days, mainly using Aspect of Nyx, Aspect of Thanatos, or Aspect of Medea. But when I saw Possessed Array on offer in the very first room, I decided, "Why not?" and switched from Medea to Persephone. And it worked out.

just beat typhon so hard he phase changed to the second set of eggs as soon as his stun finished from zeus coming down. sadly medal decided to screen cap the idle game i had running in the background, and not hades 2 so i dont have a recording of it. basics of the builds were hapheastus special (2 second cooldown) demeter attack, riposte knives, and the demeter/hapheastus and demeter/zeus duos.

Decided to use Hera's keepsake in Olympus to try and upgrade my commons to rares, but picked up heroic Extended Family instead. I know it doesn't affect Scorch, sadly. But it helped my common, level one Blitz out. Circe also did me a solid by removing the Vow of Grit (foes have +30% health).

50 fear Surface clear #4! My fastest so far. Also the cleanest, which was shocking as I didn't receive Arctic Ring or Mint Condition until Olympus. But this build's damage was nuts. Phased Prometheus during Mint Condition, then in phase two and three I downed him before his massive fire circle could actually launch. Then on the Summit, I killed the Spawn of Typhon during Mint Condition, though didn't quite manage that feat with the Tail. TLDR: Trick Knives.

I didn't dare purchase hidden boons, as my build would be ruined if I got another Hera or Demeter boon. But it proved to be enough to finally tick off another weapon. Staff is next.

hey, uhm, does anyone know what the world record for damage from a single source is cause......... i've never seen anyone get this high 😭 here i was just trying to beat 32 surface after a truly exhaustive number of attempts and happened to stumble on miss possessed array in chamber one. i decided to just focus everything i had on getting a massive amount of max magic and epic born gain but i can't believe how stacked it got. tbh, incandescent aura and righteous pike were fun acquisitions at the end, and fine line helped a LOT, but i really think i could have done with just possessed array+that juicy nova strike+born again and that 420 magic bar. jeez.

40 fear, the afk build for fighting Typhon is almost ready. But I can't decide if I should take Zeus' Keepsake for his revenge, or take Odysseus' Keepsake for extra damage resistance. I'm pretty sure that the light smite alone won't be enough just in time for Typhon to kill himself.

By the way, afk Typhon is so annoying. He pushes you to the edge of the arena and then doesn't hit you with anything but laser. Which makes revenge effects too rare.

Typhon, with Grit 3, has 84500 hp.
This means it would take 845 procs to kill him. Assuming 1 proc a second(which is far too generous), it would take 14.08 minutes to kill Typhon, ignoring adds.

I found a strange bug. If you stand afk with the interface disabled (happens automatically when you are afk long enough) at the moment when Typhon dies, the counters of the current amount of boons, grasp and fear will not appear on the final victory screen.... this is how it looks

And yes this is an afk Typhon with 32 fear (pain and speed at max).

Normally these counters are moved from the upper right corner of the screen to the correct boxes, but if the interface is disabled before the victory, there is nothing to move.

124 attempts later, I finally got my 50 fear Surface clear #8. @slate matrix
This was really challenging. Normally the Aspect of Charon feels incredibly powerful, but at 50 fear on the surface, I was really struggling due to having to stand still so much.
A lot of things went my way this run. A chaos room appeared in location 1, shaving off some time. I didn't need to reroll any doors to get the four Olympians I needed. I got epic Trusty Shield in Ephyra, and epic Mint Condition in Olympus. I got Snow Queen in the shop before Polyphemus, and epic Local Climate early in Thessaly. Experimental Hammer gave me Giga Cleaver. But with no Medea, Circe, Icarus, or fountain chambers, the timer was still quite close (until the summit).
Keepsakes used: Fig Leaf, Gorgon Amulet, Experimental Hammer, White Antler.

Ridiculous luck on this artemis 50F UW run

This is the most Heroic boons I have been able to get in a single run. A total of 12 boons plus the Black Fleece. (surface run, no skulls)

50 fear Surface clear #11, using Aspect of Circe with Mirrored Thrasher and Incandescent Aura. Was pretty fun. Would have liked Fine Line, Explosive Intent, or even Brave Face, just to be able to spend magick faster to fuel the combo of Serenity with Incandescent Aura, but alas. @slate matrix

I ended up with two completely separate builds. The first one focuses on attack burn and freezing burn, while the second one revolves around Hestia’s Legendary and Slow Cooker. And yes, those 100,000 damage numbers from dashing - that’s actually Hestia’s Legendary at work. It really does scale with Slow Cooker. Either the devs once again failed at properly describing how the boons works, or the Legendary’s damage is coded as attack/special attack damage in the backend
Unfortunately, the Legendary doesn't trigger on dashes - it only works while sprinting, making it practically useless in torch combat.

After getting it, only played through sprint. Easiest win on Typhon, by the way. I just burned his whole chin ))
