Beat Hecate oceania is smacking my butt rn

#

Same, second try but Oceanus too hard, died against a fish respawning again and again

#

2nd run, had a great build but I died to the 2nd boss fight. also, I love the 2nd boss fight already, it's perfect
(my build was water special, fireball omega special, fast mana regen for minus health, and soot sprint)

soot sprint, the boon that freezes enemies and some poseidon stuff

just beat Hecate for the first time! Have a super nice build going with moon ray, Demeter special, and used a dress from Arachne for the mana recharges

#

hey hey people, I'm a long time fan, so I've already beaten hecate on my 2d or 3d run, should I lose for some time in order to get all of the dialogue or I can proceed at my own pace? Cause I distinctly remember the time I started replaying hades and I think I've missed lots of dialogue cause I've been beating the bosses consistently

yeah you beat me, but I'm immortal soooo I'll be here again

umbral elk
#

This is still just EA, not full story, so

fluid quest
#

yeah the real ending won't be revealed until 1.0

sage saddle
#

but the difficulty is much harder than last game, that was awesome. although max difficulty hades boss fight was also good

sage saddle
fluid quest
#

how is chronos vs. em4? about the same?

sage saddle
#

but this EA is much much bigger than it was on the first Hades, I remember only having meg or the hydra on epic games

soft aurora
sage saddle
fluid quest
#

extreme measures hades

#

where he has three health bars and throws his spear

sage saddle
#

hard to say, I remember that I struggled with em4, but there were so many options of beating him consistently too. This, Chronos, another animal entirely, I did have erins 20% damage on me debuff too, that surely contributed. I say that Chronos is harder, much harder or no-I cant say cause I havent played the first iteration in a long long time

#

but this base chronos is already harder than em4 hades, if they bring extreme measures into this game as well, idk

soft aurora
#

how many runs did it take you to get to Chronos?

sage saddle
#

idk, I got to the 3d zone pretty fast, since I've got good muscle memory on first hades

#

a new player or someone who struggles with the game will have a hard time reaching him without the right build or a god mode

soft aurora
#

iv eonly gotten that far once but im on escape like 5 so its just gonna be a grind, but a great one

sage saddle
#

for sure, it's simply awesome

GODS NO

errant condor
soft aurora
fluid quest
#

is that the new heat system?

sage saddle
#

YES IT IS

soft aurora
#

DEAR GODS

sage saddle
#

and the other thing that I feared, some characters do not give the Chronos defeat lines if you have done something else related to them, Odysseus wasnt at home and Nemesis was talking about the fact that we saw each other on the trail

#

so, I guess its best to try and farm some deaths before the dialogue runs out and then progress

haughty raptor
tight violet
#

I made it to the end of region 3 in 7 nights. I dont think I will be back there anytime soon tho. The dash thing with Hephaestus carried a lot. The dual blade thing with the hammer that buffed the attack + Aphrodite atk was pretty strong on the last hit.

The boss of the region 3 felt super tanky tho. Almost like I wasnt meant to be here yet. But I probably just played bad

tough gale
sage saddle
upper venture

Is approval process back

sage saddle
woven kite
#

Oh my... The blade's distance attack boosted with the hammer is just insane. Add it to a couple of powers (i went for Hesta/Zeus comb) and you just feel reaaaaally powerfull. Reached the boss of the 3rd arena practically just smashing Y and B

soft aurora
tight violet
#

Well there is probably a lot of meta progression to go... But yeah ... As someone who only did heat 32 once and could do 18-26 consistently. There is moments of .... Oh wow.... This feels much harder then no heat hades

haughty raptor
#

most hades runs for later heat have an aspect unlocked though

tight violet
#

At the siren fight was just me on the second attempt panicking and screaming whats the hell is going on. And somehow clutch it. I got 2 dd in reserve I wasnt noticing

sage saddle
#

lmao, that was me on Chronos

sage saddle
#

this is definitely a step in the right direction, since at some point the first game was becoming much much easier

#

I dont how chronos can become easy, this will come down to pure luck, skill, his attack patterns and a good build

#

whereas full heat hades only needed a bit of skill and a good build

dull helm
#

Just got murdered by boss 3, what have they done Cry_StrongFeels_Pepe

fluid quest
#

i guess it's called fear instead of heat this time

haughty raptor
#

i still havent 32 heat hades yet, maybe ill do that tomorrow

tight violet
#

I feel this game has layers of depths and build strategies and applications that will really help set it appart from hades 1 and in application too

dull helm
#

I had like

#

oops thought I was in story spoilers chat, still

dull helm
tight violet
#

Death to Chronos

sage saddle
#

so who had the first kill on Chronos? can I see a leaderboard anywhere?

#

I'm sure some mega youtuber gamer will beat me on time pretty easily as time passes, but I'm just curious

tight violet
#

Maybe some streamer or someone out here. When I was trying to figure out how much content it had in ea.

I saw two good streamer probably stuck on boss 2 or maybe 3 ... I didnt want to see too much

#

That was after the game was released. So maybe someone did it. Aside you

sage saddle
#

@patent kettle hey, did you kill Chronos on your attempt? Our time is different but maybe you've had the overall first kill and I've had the best result

tight violet
#

I never though I was beating the 2 first bosses on their second tries... I dunno of I underate myself but I didn't felt like I learned the fights that much yet

sage saddle
#

I don't know if I'm up for another run tonight though lol, that was exhausting

tight violet
#

Yeah but I cant tell if it was more my skills at making a build and cheese mash or my skills.

#

Im exhausted too.

sage saddle
#

oh wow, it seems like Eris is an artificial difficulty enforcer for people who advance too fast lol

patent kettle
tight violet
#

Also in region 3 i got hit with a debuff that make ennemis do more dmg starting at +20% and the debuff get stronger per chambers... I was really piss at that one lol

tight violet
#

So my hunch was right lmao

soft aurora
#

dang they thought ahead lmao

sage saddle
sage saddle
tight violet
sage saddle
# soft aurora dang they thought ahead lmao

not really, I love them with all my heart but they really need to develop a way for people to see all of the dialogue even if it means ending some runs prematurely, The text is so good at times, it's a crime to miss it

tight violet
#

I know that I got there in less runs then peoples who are way more skill then me at these games. (Im not implying im better)

#

My build was pretty good against the second boss. Probably not good for optimal speedruning and if there is a heat timer.

tight violet
sage saddle
#

I've had 3 death defiances on chronos with the 20% damage buff for enemies from erin, and he struck me 2 times for full health

#

so, yeah, that is very siginificant

#

that's the card you unlock with his essence btw

tough gale
#

Oh that's funny

tight violet
#

I had a boon that made my hp limit go to 174hp. If I could manage to heal. I probably would probably reach Chronos and failed

sage saddle
#

not much help, when lots of bosses attacks are one shots lol, but they did help nonetheless

tight violet
#

Me too. Well mine was 3. For like 35 or 25 ?

sage saddle
#

yeah, if you upgrade it, you can get more charges and heal amount

tight violet
#

Mana regen build will go crazy stupid and creative

sage saddle
#

I actually tried to minimize mana dependence, cause this card is mad helpful

tight violet
#

this is what I got so far

sage saddle
#

I would recommend replacing the 6th card with the one i presented, the 3d

#

the 6th gives more damage only in your casts

#

and the buff is like 20%. While you can have pretty much permanent damage with the 3d card and more %

tight violet
#

dosent that like .. remove my many. I wanna experiement with it

sage saddle
tight violet
#

Yeah I think it might come down to playstyle and weapons. Because having mana and some mana regen boons can make the the moon lady hex proc more often. I had so many dash attacks that dealth 300dmg it was hilarious

#

And you if you have the heal hex. It more easier to get heal mid fight

#

Honestly im surprised how very familiar yet different the game is so far

sage saddle
#

they've done a great job, they always have, I've acquainted myself with supergiant on Pyre and then devoured everything else, when the earliest beta in epic games was announced for hades, my love for greek mythology practically forced my hand, they've never disappointed since

Im noticing that boons are damn near optional in this game. Most of the time you just want stat boosts for more HP or hard damage increases. my two winning runs both had Apollo and Hermes sprint speed buff, my strategy for when the little stuff spawned was to run away from chronos and deal with the smaller enemies first

Got my first win, worked realllly hard for it, that 'one last run' at 2 am became my winner. Axe is my fav weapon now, went hard into the Omega Special, Aspect of Charon goes crazy with it, was dealing so much damage. I really f'd up by not getting a boon to improve my magic regen but I won despite it thankfully.

For Damage:
Essentially, attack damage increase boon combined with weed killer, which increases omega attack damage, combined with silver streak, which also increases attack damage after dashing/sprinting. This lets me use a super powerful omega attack right after dodging or sprinting to deal massive damage, and since I was running the witch's staff, I could do plenty of damage at a distance with decent AOE

For Defense/Longevity: Started with the silken sash keepsake to keep armor up for as long as possible, picked up the trusty shield boon, which adds a set amount of armor to you every encounter, and finally got coarse grit right before the final boss, which limits the maximum damage you can take per hit to 15

As you can see from my screenshot, I still had full health and armor to spare after everything, and my omega attack really carried me for damage

First run with skull, first win with skull. That omega special was crazy, but I feel like the attack could use more help from auto-aim. I narrowly missed stationary enemies multiple times. Also I procced a 10% dodge chance when I was stuck in a time bubble during Chronos's instakill attack so that was neat.

#

I DID IT!!!
I got heph's armor and arachne's channel boost dress, THEN Demeter gave me the boon that made boon to common, and best part: everytime it upgrade Heavy Metal, it REAPPLIES it!! By the time I reached Chronos I still have 90 armor. From there, I just abuse Light Smite, the Earth infusion that make the max damage you can receive is 15 and Selene's necromancy and let my servant tanking damage and repel it again and again.

Still have 3 death defiances, mwehehehehe

Absolutely buzzing. Argent skull is insane. Cast, attack (I had 5 and did passive damage on the floor every 2.5 seconds, which wasn't fun for level 3 boss) and Demeter boon buff. What a run, what a game

unreal thistle
#

Solar Ring + Howling Soul is really good, probably 85% of the damage I did to Chronos.

ok maybe i kinda like the skulls actually that single target dmg is ridiculous

i do wish the knockback from firing them was gone though

First victory at 23 hours lol. I spent a long time on the surface and after finally beating the second biome, my first run back down was a victory. Everything seemed so easy, or maybe it was the build? Steam is a really good combo

What started as a run just to complete a testament turned into my first 4 Fear run. Hera on attack/special, hammer for omega special that hits to one side, hammer for omega special that returns. Nice area clear and decent single target damage too. Fills up Dark Side nicely. Stand in Apollo casts to regen twice per Dark Side with +3 duration. Dark Side attacks used my attack boon and I had a few boosts to attack damage. I would have facerolled Grampa if I hadn't used the "auto fill up magic 3 seconds after use" keepsake in the previous area just so I could figure out what it actually did.
