Hi guys. Loving the game. Im currently trying out the aspect of Persephony and i have NO idea how to activate the "sprouted" affect. I seem to be doing it at complete random. I thought I just had to get a boon from a god to make it last longer but that doesn't seem to work?? Please someone explain it to me better than the game can!

So, for example, Heph Blasts, Poseidon Waves, Hestia Scorch and Controlled Burn/the cast fireball, Static Shock or Blitz, Cast damage charge the Sprouted counter

The idea is getting a build that allows some consistent Olympian damage that allows you to make long Omega Specials

I think Demeter cast does not count as Olympian damage? I admit the line of what is and what is not Olympian damage feels sketchy at times lol

Iirc dem cast does count as Olympian damage. But you're right that what does qualify feel inconsistent.

Generally speaking, any Boon damage that is a static number is Olympian damage

Ex: Vicious Strike's Wounds +50 power is Olympian damage, but the +30% dmg increase is not.

Which strike boon is best for a blade attack build, Zeus or Hestia or Aphorodite (or something else)?
Blitz and Scorch are curses so I believe they're better for triggering Origination, which I think is better than pure damage from Aphrodite?

Of the two I'd pick Scorch over Blitz since blades attack can stack it very quickly, and you can throw Blitz on the special to spread it around easily. Aphro attack doesn't have a status curse, but Aphrodite also has Glamour Gain which is one of the most free ways to proc Origination

Hmm that's true. I'm planning out my keepsakes for my blade build, and I've been picking Hestia for the first keepsake because I like Scorch and Cardio Gain a lot, Snuffed Candle and Flash Fry are situational but pretty decent too.

I guess Zeus is better for a Mirrored Thrasher staff build - big damage, decently quick attacks, attacks use magick so Power Surge is trigger all the time (just beat the surface for the first time and first tried the final boss for the first time with it yesterday).

I will say, it was designed for Patch 11, but I have tried to update it a bit with 1.0 info. I’d say the new changes now are that Lucid Gain really wants a rarity / Pom, and if you don’t take Hera’s Special or Cast, her Sprint is now actually useful to apply Hitch. Geyser Spout though is still one of the best mid-late game boons for Charon, and Lucid Gain is still probably the best Gain boon

Your prime can exceed your max, it just says zero max mana, no boons that prime mana actually care if you do this

but that priming amount doesn't get truncated by zeroing out, if you go into -20 prime and get a mana tonic, you only go back to 10

as a fellow axe lover who did the entire story with just axe aspects, all other weapons are still very fun and a more than a bit broken. i have really enjoyed hestia attack/zeus special on the 3 main staff aspects for thermal dynamics, aspect of anubis is just absurd and never stops being funny, as well as most other weapons being able to lean into hestia for damage

skulls in particular surprised me, esp with possessed array. medea is super strong and i found hel super fun. i would def recommend those because they play so much differently and it's very cool

I don't know what it is but sometimes I get insanely bad boon rolls, where I only get 1 or 2 options for a boon, and they're both usually replacing my already established boons e.g. on my main attack or gain boon. In my current run I only have 2 Demeter boons but the only option is to replace my gain boon even when I have no attack or cast boon. It doesn't change even with rerolls, sometimes I've had an option to just receive money instead but I don't even have that

For those in post game, there is an optional boss fight with ||zagerious||
In most of the fights I've been able to win, but learned quickly he hits for alot* and makes me less likely to want to stay near him for long.

However, there are some nocturnal weapons that don't have any ranged attack moves, and usually you encounter this fight before a real build starts to take hold.

Any suggestions on how you even beat him with no ranged attacks? After their first death defiance, they like to spam their wide 360 attack move every second, and aside of tagging them once inbetween and running around, I can't find a solid opening. Yet that 1 and out strat is risky and would make the fight take 5-10 minutes I fear.

I guess if you have no ranged attacks you need to save mana/hex or what ever to nuke them down at that stage because trying to beat them through hit and runs doesn't seem viable.

he is manageable in p1 and p2 but p3 is tough. you need to "wait for your turn" to attack because he will go berserk sometimes and spam dash strikes and you cannot really touch him at that point. but imo he is more manageable than R4 Typhon. It is very difficult to dodge during typhon fight after the second egg phase

To be fair, Servitude is the main reason to take Night Bloom, because any gain or Moon arcana can easily spawn a boosted enemy for you per encounter.

But Servitude doesn’t always show up, so if you can’t get it, but do get some more hex node options, Eruption is an option to spam enemy spawns

I divide circe into two styles.

1. "cast damage over time" = zeus or hestia cast, avoid winner's circle since it'll make those casts do less damage per use, no need for strong magic regen but stuff like gusts and super nova can be fun.
2. "Ω cast burst damage" = aim for winner's circle, get a cast which does high damage in a single hit (or anvil ring), and stack Ω cast effects. Geyser Spout is the best one, but meat grinder, prominence flare, and local climate (is that the name?) are also good
   #2 needs good magic regen to fuel the constant Ω casts and is harder to get going but VERY strong. I like Apollo, Poseidon, and Hera casts with it the most but others can work

I'd say avoid it, yeah. It makes the cast disappear early and stop doing lightning damage

for anvil ring you always do 3 hits of damage, but for the other DoT casts (aphrodite, zeus, hestia, demeter) the cast deals damage at a fixed rate until it disappears

mostly it comes down to decision making

Stuff like going to the midshop even if you don't have the money, taking rooms that are more likely than others to be skips, taking chaos whenever possible, etc.

If you're never going higher than 32 fear you can go timer 3 and learn the decisions you have to make and then you don't have to have that good execution

But with all things it takes practice

all options are fine, just grab hex upgrades when you can but you'll want normal boons too

Black coat with Poseidon -> legendary/zeus on attack and hope you get the dash strike hammer. Then just spam dash strike into them. Demeter also helps with the dmg reduction
