Excellence is better when you have fewer options and need to make the most out of all of them because it makes each individual boon better. It also works better on boons that can't be pommed ||but you would take those less often anyways because the boons competing with them are level 4 now. You could still take excellence on Pers runs for heph blast but as the world's #1 excellence believer it's sort of dead rn||

She's offering to buff Gale to 12% for those, or shrink me for +10% faster and +10% dodge. That second one is just straight up better, right? There's no hidden math I'm not getting here?

For nergal you just need Apollo attack, hestia cast, Aphrodite mana regen, pick heph too for extra defensive boons. Try to get the hestia Aphrodite duo and just bonk with the attack. No omega moves just spam attack with nergal

I was doing that until I got bored of it, now I’ll start off with the keepsake of whatever god I plan to do my build around. Apollo for huge aoe, aphrodite for up close big hits, and so on :))

Starting off with a fig leaf can also be nice, since it’s effect stays for the whole run even when switching off of it. The lil piggy bank keepsake is nice as a starting one too, but very RNG.

Yeah I’ll sometimes do that too, but the later floors are usually easier than the starting ones, so I prefer to skip a starting floor instead

Also I’ve been playing around with some builds. For the Morrigan aspect, I know many people like to use Poseidon or Zeus boons because it’s a multi-hit weapon. But I decided to try an Omega Attack focused build. Got a crazy level 23 heroic Apollo attack boon for like +350% attack damage. AND the Daedalus hammer upgrade for +400% damage on my omega attacks. Also ran the artemis keepsake for 25% crit chance on the final floor, and 0 death defiances for the +20% damage arcana card… Ended up doing close to 4k per omega attack, then throwing out 1 special attack with a Hephaestus boon to activate that + blood triad for a quick 1.4k pop

So from 1 quick attack cycle I got 5.4k damage

at some point with gusts they require 2 or 3 lvs to increase dmg by 1

but otherwise nah

cuz i had a triple pom on gust one time and it only increased dmg by 2

Oh yeah tbh i rarely take those duo's might give it a try, been trying to see how high i can stack main attack damage buffs across the board

So far with than axe i was usually hitting around 600 per swing if i get a decent set up, apollo backstab, origination etc

On a different note anyone got links to good threads for speedrunning tips, i've hit a wall at around avg. 10-11 minutes my best being 10:03 in the underworld, been really trying to crack that 10 minutes but just barely keep coming up short

Blitz is weird because it basically scales with your ability to deal its prerequired damage. So it scales with your ability to deal damage. Which is obviously very good!

Usually it is better for blitz to be on whatever of the attack or special you don’t plan on using as much, but it works just fine as a primary too

Excellence probably isn’t the play - either Lovers or Artificer or Boatman might give you more value.

I actually got my first clear using the duo boon, but isn't it bad for the torches coz ur only able to consistently apply weak with the gain which requires u to be close?

My first clear was on axe with hestia cast and aphro gain with duo, on axe I'm always melee range so the scorch was always up

Even if you have gaps in-between the applications of weak, the weak essentially just stops the scorch from going down, so as long as it's somewhat consistent, you'll always have high scorch numbers

Hestia is a good choice for casts in general imo. I had an enormous Circe run with Demeter on the cast, but it prolly could be anything if you manage all the omega cast boons in one run.
