Well “high fear” changes definition a lot by who you ask

Like as somebody who has like 25 separate clears on different aspects at 40 fear I’d consider “high fear” to be like 45+

But obviously early on I’d considered 20 to be “high”

So increases it to effectively 19.5% damage on each of them

If you get hereditary bane with a good roll and Poms you can get that a lot higher

I think the bonuses of Poms falls off after like the first 3 levels

That the 3 levels are a 10% buff, rarities are 5%, and then every Pom after 4th level is another 5% I think

So at best you could instantly send Prometheus into his first invincibility with like a level 16 heroic or something

Unless I’m wrong and the % increase doesn’t reduce after a certain level, I know a lot of boons do that where their bonuses reduce at higher levels

the first few times I fought Prom & Herc I reduced their hp bars evenly, for no particular reason, I just attacked who was closer and had hitch I think
it's only later I figured out focusing Herc is the play
not a brag, but I haven't lost to them yet, maybe because I really grinded Prom after I lost to him 3 times in a row in my early runs, that really pissed me off

there's a hammer that gives 20 power to knives, if you get that then % damage buff becomes viable but i wouldnt count on it.
trick knives is the hammer that throws 3 specials out on dash strikes, it's argubly the best hammer in the game (my knives record is win with it, lose without it)

There’s a hammer that gives 30p attack speed buff to axe and it makes a huge difference. Also worth messing around with an ares plasma build for the axe (1% faster attack speed per plasma charge, it adds up)

He’s okay in Ephyra though since you can just sit on the boon screen until he jumps away

Also fun fact, Artemis can only show up in heart, tonic or Selene rooms in ephyra

So it makes those a potential time save and having some extra health to tank hits is always nice

Back when I started playing I thought Typhon was harder, then I switched to Chronos being harder, but now that I play on Pain 3 sometimes and the LEAST Typhon can hit you for is like 60 damage, Typhon is harder again lol (not Rivals)

Each weapon has one. I am not sure if that applies to all of them, but i think to unlock some of them you need to fully upgrade a non-secret aspect of the same weapon, i dont think a specific aspect though

the Nergal run sucked, no psychic whirlwind, only got 1 hammer and took heaven strike which was probably a mistake, but whatever, I had heroic flutter strike and a chaos boon that gave me +82% special damage, so I spammed the special too (wound flourish), took life tax from daddy for insurance, but didn't need it in the end as it was a 0 fear run and Chronos was very easy even with such a limited moveset
now it's Shiva and Supay, and I dread the Supay run even more
someone on reddit said that playing Supay is like pulling multiple wisdom teeth without general anesthesia and that's an apt description IMO

Hestia, Hera if you don't have other sources of Hitch, Apollo as a utility instead of a damage

You could probably make Ares work

do you have to attack the boss to beat it? yes, it's just Zeus will show up and stun him when he's at half health, and you mash the tongue for a bit

then the fight continues with more projectiles and some extra moves

Ohhh so in order to progress the fight you do, i was wondering since you cant sense his life force

If there is another.. lets say intermission (like when zeus shows up) dont tell me because i didnt get to it last time

tbh, Typhon is a stationary boss, and if you can beat Prometheus then your build is at least decent, so you can just unload all your nukes on Typhon and cycle through all his phases pretty quickly

just don't get hit by any of the big attacks

and get the Lovers arcana if you don't have it yet, it protects you from 3 hits in all boss fights

Soo unluckily for me, it was my first time getting to the big boy.. so i had no idea what his moves were or the timing on dodging it which means i took a lottttt of hits because i messed up my dash

But that was only my second run of the surface on this play through so i still got a lot to do

the big thing is the tongue laser attack hits twice in the last phase, so you need to dash it two times

the follow up is very quick, so you need to be ready to dash again

the rest is just spacing though, you'll get it I'm sure

Surprisingly i lost all my death defiances to the normal laser xD again i was still learning the timing.. i managed to react quick enough to the follow up and got that one quickly

Its the slight delay to the first one that gets me every time

yeah the timing is not very intuitive, but it's very consistent once you learn it

anyway, as some encouragement, once you beat Typhon, something very very cool will happen, your jaw will probably drop to the floor, so work for it

Then after that i think i took 1 or 2 huts from the uhh… bouncing balls, then maybe 1 frock the jellyfish looking things because i was being dumb

though it can take longer if you do too many mirror scenes without having beaten Typhon even once

I think this is my uhh third play through.. my last one was before zagreus’ room was released so i always stopped playing after i beat chronos a few times

Aka i never made it to typhon in my other play throughs

So despite knowing everyone and their fights.. typhons is completely new to me

Typhon is much easier than Chronos so you should be good after a few runs

I also still havent run into Ares yet, so im missing an entire god.. ANDD i dont have the fountains set up yet

I have a lot that will just make me glide through if in already making it to him

the healing fountains after bosses? those are pretty important

as for Ares, he's easily the worst god in the game, so you're not missing out on much

his core boons are all terrible

only the pseudo-crit one is good, but it's not worth gambling for it IMO

He has grevious and mutual destruction tho which are good

basically his attack/special boons give you +50 power on the intial hit, but then you have to wait 3 sec until the next power boost, and the base damage of his boons is not very good

it's kind of like a scuffed Hephaestus blast

blitz is insane if you can proc it enough, Hitch is great for clearing rooms and freeze just makes things safer

Demeter is low tier due to freeze not working on bosses and her boons having low damage boost otherwise similar to Ares, she has some other nice boons though like Snow Queen

if you have Apollo and Zeus in your god pool build towards henious affront and watch the bad guys melt in seconds. But yeah he needs general grievous to keep pace with like, common Apollo lol

you're not picking Demeter for damage, or likely first at all. she's good 2nd for the freeze on cast (or attack/special depending on build)

If i'm looking for damage, depending on the build i'm looking at Zeus, Hera, Aphro or Apollo

Generally you wish to start out with higher damage but it isn't horrible

if your damage output is low, the battles will be drawn out and you'll need to dodge a lot more and it's likely you will take more damage

sometimes you just get overwhelmed if your DPS is bad, like the Olympus/Summit rooms with all the spammy enemies shooting at you

especially if it's an Icarus room and he decides to start WW3 lol

Typhon is just a big punching bag, you unload everything, dodge a bit and the fight's already over

just play on 0 fear if you're really struggling, no shame in that

It took me a bit, but you need to quickly dash out of the way, while dealing as much damage as possible
Hexes help massively, nearly all of them can shred him with the right set up

Normal Typhon is a knowledge check since most of his abilities are super easy to dodge once you know the cues

So yeah it’s satisfying to get down the dodging or just face tank him

Normal typhon was super difficult for me at least the first few times, but some time after beating him the first time i've gotten so much better at the fight that that typhon feels as if he has less HP

You just gotta do a lot of damage and that’s it

If you really struggle on him then grab old grudge and knuckle bones
