So drop the cast circle on the boss, and watch that health bar melt

If you take damage during normal rooms, that thing will drain fast, if you take no damage in normal rooms it does nothing, and if that is the case then it means that it will happen after a boss which Especially if you are doing surface runs or fighting a rival boss, it will drain after 1 boss basically

I think it would be better if it just healed you 3 whenever you extited a room as opposed to the Initial big heal that depletes over time

also completley unrelated to Arcana, but last run I did was the first time I picked up the Morph moon hex, and dear god it is amazing at dealing with small enemies and minions from bosses

I never picked it up before hand because I prefer things that melt bosses and the elite enemies (you know the ones for certain boon rooms), but wow it is good at dealing with the small fry

Even when I am not using the Sister Blades, I mainly use weapons that require me to get atleast somewhat close

One that dissapoints me is Dark Side unfortunately

Becoming Invulnerable is good, but the damage is awful

Also even if you have stuff that automatically charges your Hex, taking 110 mana means that you charge something super slow that gives you mediocre damage

The best use I have gotten out of this mediorce hex is against the non rival versions of the region one boss to just be able to be close to them as the attacks constantly hit them

But that is about it

And it kinda helped me against Phase 2 chronos like once, but the damage was still lacking even after upgrades

The hex is probably still really bad against bosses, but certain bosses is where I got the most value out of this mediocre thing

And the fact that it can help with Chronos phase 2 aka the final boss of Underworld runs - ehh bottom 3 Hex at best

I crank the bosses up to max, because I've had better luck with them than the mobs. But rival Cerberus always kicks my ass.

I'm sure there's some reason for the fact that it doesn't exist, but I would love if there was some kind of endgame freeplay mode where you could mix and match boons. There are so many combinations that I come so close to getting, and can never get close to again.

He throws eggs at like 80 percent, Zeus blasts him at 60 percent, he throws second wave of eggs at like 30- 40 percent (my numbers are approximations and someone correct me if I’m wrong). If you whoop Prometheus’s ass, you can beat typhon (if it’s a close win over promo, no guarantees)

Most of Dionysus' boons are unfortunately considered inferior, but Bounce Back (After encounter: 80% of received DMG this encounter) ignores Vow of Scars, Grape Juice works well under the right circumstances, &... the alcohol mortar boon deals pretty heavy DMG.

Hephaestus legendary is genuinely valid to go for because it's the only way to increase the Blood Triad damage outside of hammers

if i may just throw in some criticism
the secret fight in this game (not sure if spoiler or not) kinda sucks.
if you have any sort of range (which almost all weapons do) you just run and shoot. its attacks are far from threatening if you do this.
the reward doesnt feel that worth it either. its just a few more items in the run.
only reason i'd go for it tbh is to see the dialogue

at least the unseen ones theme is back but it doesnt have the same effect if the fight is this underwhelming

The child phase and last phase of Typhon are stressful in a good way. You know you could die and lose the whole run, but you also know Typhon only needs a few more hits to die. It makes it fun.

Not saying I hate Rivals Chronos though. I just think Phase 3 is meh.

With Circe, you scan start with Zeus to get his cast. Can also start with Apollo to lock him in since he has a lot of cast boons.

For Persephone, Hephaestus attack is really good at filling up the sprouted bar. Besides him, Hestia and Zeus attack are also good.

Could also start with Aphrodite or Hera to get their special.

in practice I’d go Hera over dite attack, with origination it evens out pretty neatly
