Oh it's absolutely not a perfect system; in part I'm willing to make a small sacrifice to convenience (namely needing to shift arcana around when shifting aspects) because there's something satisfying to me about the 6 sets lining up perfectly with the 6 weapon types and it makes my brain happy

Taking this in good faith, the main things with Poseidon for me are:

• his boons tend to be flat damage boosts, which are much stronger with fast attacking aspects, such as Mel Blades/Coat, than something slow and heavy, like Axe, that might prefer % damage boosts instead (such as Aphro/Apollo/Hera)
• he has a lot of good duos/legendaries that can drastically boost damage (his Legendary does quite a bit, for example)
• good support for a lot of omega-centric builds between stuff like Flood Gain, Geyser Spout, or Ocean Swell
• very nice general income boons like Sea Star and Buried Treasure

I managed to get my 32 Fear run on my 2nd attempt actually, and in that run the biggest source of damage was actually Poseidon waves (in part because they were largely accentuated by his legendary and his Ares duo), so they can absolutely put in a ton of work

I love how that Boon's prerequisites can just be Fine Line and Ocean Swell, it's so nice for jamming it into a build that already has one of the two and a filled god pool

• Underworld: ||Zagreus does his "Oh I'm gonna give him another chance, surprise! Thing, but that doesn't instantly convert Chronos. Then you fight him a few more times, talking to Zag and maybe linking back with the past to experience some of growing up with Chronos as you whittle away both his and Mel's resistance to it, ending with Mel having the final discussion and convincing Chronos to change.||
• Surface: ||The final spear should go into his mouth and stab him deep inside so you then cut your way out the way that Odysseus hinted would make a great story. Otherwise whatever, it's still gonna be time split shenanigans on Olympus so that's fine||

I may be wrong but my impression is that her legendary only works when weak is applied to an enemy who isn't already weak
similarly to how (afaik) medea's harm for the afflicted will only proc off of scorch if the enemy runs out of scorch stacks and is then hit with the curse, not just when additional stacks are added

and the requirements are 1. have a wound effect from ares, 2. have any core zeus boon, 3. have any revenge boon

the main difference is that you need a wound effect to trigger it so you need that from ares specifically, but that also makes it (imo) a lot more fun to use since you can trigger it rapidly against groups of enemies and have control over the trigger rather than it just being a passive thing

I think a lot of h2 duos just have a more specific effect...?
like a lot of h1 duos could afford to be flexible since the effect was very general (i.e. "get crit when X"), and because gods mainly only did 1-2 things.
there are some duos with more specific effects in hades 1 too, notably the ones that affect specific cast boons. like, duos that work with doom vs blade rifts need a boon that does that, same with trippy shot and demeter cast duos, or demeter zeus where you need a specific tier 2 zeus boon to get offered it at all

yeah I think the fact most gods have a weird two-tier status to their boons makes duo's really tricky to use. Like Zeus/Hestia has blitz apply scorch, but zeus has 2 blitz causing abilities (attack/special), and then it requires HESTIA'S attack/special/cast. So your kit is very jammed if you're trying to get the duo

Since zeus has a weird mix of chain lightning, lightning strikes, AND blitz, and none of them really overlap

but I like that gods specialize in so many niche effects in h2, so two zeus runs can feel very different as opposed to everything being chain lightning, or almost every aphro boon being about weakness
