Looking for fleet composition tips to improve from!

you should use nelson instead of one of the common BBs

you should use unicorn instead of shouhou

you should retrofit z23, hiryuu, and souryuu

get helena and pheonix from guild shop and replace the two common dds with them

thats basically it for now

What makes Unicorn better?

retrofit has 1 more plane than shouhou

also has higher damage

and better healing

so literally better in every way possible

not to mention preload

Cassin and Downes were recommended to me because they use less oil, they are in my mob fleet

replacing shouhou isn't as high priority compared to everything else though

so no need to worry yet

oil savings isn't worth

better to get the exp on stuff thats good that you intend to use for harder content

especially as a new player

if you want to save oil, just use fewer ships

Oklahoma and Nevada were recommended because they're reasonably good for new players to start with, I suppose I should replace them with something better now that I'm lvl 70?

also on a side note, you should do operation siren for repulse META, cause she would be a vast improvement over everything you got

stop trying to do cassin/downes 0lb oil memes, it's not worth it. put phoenix in instead of one of them, move kagerou in from your boss fleet as the other replacement
replace okla with nelson, replace nelson with pennsylvania next guild shop reset
the bunnies are a tad too slow to sync properly with helena (desyncs after 2, maybe less given your levels and unretro), so id rather grab a london from guild instead and put her in your boss fleet replacing kagerou
bench u96 for now, grab albacore from merit shop instead

probably also improvements to be made by grabbing other ships from merit/medal but that depends on what's in rotation

helena at least has brooklyn class damage out of the gate

subs are very low priority as well

theyre a big boy, im sure they can use exp packs and speed her along when i dont see any other cruisers that need retro

Yeah that's what everyone tells me, a lot of the guides don't really bother with subs

you can focus on subs once your main 2 fleets are setup

considering that alba is merit id say the purchase cost is ok

ill let them judge that, but when their boss fleet doesnt sync properly i wouldnt recommend they raise a helena for now

id rather be slightly suboptimal now to be optimal in the future, since early game is easy enough anyway

I'm normally not sure what to buy in the merit shop, I don't know what ships are actually good yet beyond what I've been told in beginners guides lol

luckily enough theres 3 slots that need replacing in the vanguard, so can just use all 3

most ships there are bad

unironically best ship generally is gold bulin, but duke of york and albacore are also fine if you need them

total stats is a bad way to judge ship/fleet worth

they could definitely get a helena replacing the kagerou as a standby so that they have her raised when they do get boss mainfleets that would work with her, but id prioritise raising london first obviously

also only spend cubes on rateup banners and don't roll event once you have all the rateup ships

yes

don't spend cubes on research

thats only if you have a lot a lot (400+) and if you know what you are doing

only spend cubes if research is 30 minutes long or less, and if you feel comfortable doing so
