#Help going from collector to player

gimmie a sec and i'll go through it
while I go through it @queen juniper, could you list how far in the campaign you are/how deep are you into opsi
Campaign, I am about halfway through I believe 8-3, and working my way through the event rn. As for Opsi, I was on hiatus from the game when it came out, so I only just started, so like, the very very beginning.
in terms of what you should generally do, i would look at the guides for fleet making and chapter walkthrough by the ECTL: https://slaimuda.github.io/ectl/#/newbguide
Oh, well this is certainly a thing. Thanks, I'll def give it a full read soon.
Have you dipped your toes into PR at all?
PR is the general term for research ships
I have Saint Louis, and am working on Ibuki. I don't have the stuff for really anyone else to be unlocked
Still wasn't sure the fastest or really, any way, to unlock the points to get them started
For PR1, it's simply just having a certain volume of ships. For the rest of them, you have to have Fleet Tech points for certain factions (obtainable from obtaining ships, max limit breaking, and getting ships to level 120)
For general researching for gold ships, I would recommend:
- Monarch - Good backliner, fairly easy to obtain (this event can get you some Royal Navy main fleet ships if you need them)
- Seattle - Very solid light cruiser
- Kitakaze - Very good destroyer
- Mainz - Top light cruiser
- Odin - Great backliner, very good on mob fleets
- Anchorage - One of the best tanks in the game
- August von Parseval - good CV
Have you rolled the current event banner at all?
Beyond that I assume is delving into specific ships that fit into the niche roles I need
A few times, but as you maybe saw above, didn't get any event ships yet.
ok. I would try to get at least Vanguard as she's very good
Not necessarily, but I generally consider the above the main highlights for the gold ships. The DR ships (rainbow rarity research ships) take significantly more time to get to a workable state
That's the new UR?
Yes
Ahhh, I honestly didn't notice there was UR and SRR, I assumed they had to be retrofitted somehow similar to Sandiego and Warspite
But I understand. So the main story is good to go through to unlock the maps to farm gear and resources, while what is the specific boon of Opsi?
As in, should there be a one I prioritize to finish first, or kina go both
OpSi is mainly for gear lab materials. Main campaign is mostly for gold/exp farming. Research is where you obtain a good chunk of relevant gear.
In general, farm opsi when your fleet's morale is low
Gotcha. Gear lab feels like a back burner investment right now
For campaign, farm W9+ maps, though W11+ is preferable. This is because of oil cap/clearing rewards
Gotcha. I've had 0 trouble on chapter 8, so unless the difficulty spikes hard, I think I can get up there within like a day or two
For fleetbuilding, just make sure your ships are leveled and have gear. You only need to hyperfixate on it for W13 and W14 imo (the campaign walkthrough I linked above has good notes on what you need to focus on), and to a certain extent W12 (mostly making sure your AA is good enough). For W10/11, make sure you have a BB to take care of suicide boats
For the research laboratory, make sure your focus is on PR3/PR4, since:
A: you can use coins to upgrade your PR1/PR2 gold ships, as long as you don't have any remaining blueprints for them in your depot
B: A lot of the better gear is in PR3/4
Alright, since I got sidetracked a bit, on your dock:
- Limit break your ships with dupes, mostly to free some room. If they're fully limit broken, use them for retrofits/retire them if they're Rare or higher, or use them for enhancement fodder if they're common
- Raise Unicorn and retrofit her. Since you don't have Perseus, she'll act as a mob fleet healer
- Retrofit your starter and Portland for the rookie missions, since it doesn't seem like you've done so already. Portland is a solid tank
- Get independence from the core data shop and retrofit her once you get some other items first. Very good CV
Gotcha
Alright, what does your gear situation look like? When you post screenshots, turn the option to see equiped gear to "on"
Ahh, that's a hot mess and a half
