Porty, phoenix, helena, leander, laffey all good vanguards you can work on
Leander after retrofit is a pretty decent ship, laffey post retro is good and so is porty

#

For mainfleet you can follow what everyone's mentioned so far

Btw also remember since you're new, levels make a difference so if you had like lv40 laffey and lv10 helena, you keep laffey offtank and helena mid

Yeah, and when you multi fleet can make emden tank in other fleet if you don't have any other tanks raised
If she's using DD guns setup she's tanky enough for early/mid worlds

The purple triple 406mm mk6 is the best BB gun for general purpose outside of research AP guns and the second best HE gun outside of an event rainbow gun.

The purple twin 150 tbtsk goes to Helena

Purple single 127mm on Emden

Slap a random light cruiser gun on Emden secondary slot to activate her skill

For now overlevel is your best friend. Any early game content that kills you can be solved by having more levels.

Ideally you replace it with a purple F4U corsair, the best purple fighter, which you can farm in chapter 3-4
