For boss backline, replace illust with Sara if you're willing to retrofit her. Don't make it a priority, since even sara will get replaced by someone like Ark royal

I think Hood to Monarch would be an upgrade but also synergy with Spitekai with slow going off and making it even more likely to hit everything

So here's the deal. For most of the game you'll see that BBs tend to perform better than CVs for campaign bosses.
Most bosses before w11 have light armor, so running HE on a BB absolutely shreds.
W12/13 is an AA hell and enemies have med/heavy armor so raw numbers wise CVs should do more. But there's this mechanic called AA resist where ships take less damage from planes depending on their AA stat. Bosses in w12/13 have really high AA, so BBs hit harder

w14 is more mixed because enemy armor varies and AA resist isn't that high
but there's a really long time before you get to w14

which means my roadmap for the next few months is likely, while pushing to w9+ for coins and grinding event ships: get Kron to LB2 and Kiev levelled, retrofit spite, portland, saratoga and london, then use those fleets to run until I can get monarch and gascogne up, swapping out saratoga and hood.
