except this has 2k upvotes, and the POINT of the meme is to say uvh is below average.
reddit is the king of bandwagoning on bad takes is my point
i didnt want to cloud the channel?
isnt a thread hidden from the general chat
Sure
yeah i'm not sure a thread was necessary and honestly, all i'll say is that the only serious discussion on the azur lane sub takes place in their daily q&a megathreads
and in that thread
But it has to be on topic
i personally consider anything outside of the daily q&a on that sub to be useless shitposting and fan service
and more people give her the opposite on reddit
well, at that point your nitpicking no?
my point is you're basically comparing general to gph in this discord
admittedly sometimes gph approaches general levels
but mostly the advice is good
same goes for reddit
except their "general" is even worse
point is people say dumb shit on all platforms
and all platforms conversely have a place with sound advice
my point is, when comparing the amount of attention something will get, reddit clearly shows they bandwagon onto the bad takes as opposed to going to the qna thread
every community is like this, its just reddit in particular
yea i don't disagree that reddit bandwagons a lot
if someone here asks for meta advice, theyll be redirected to gameplay help right?
as long as it stays out of q&a it's whatever to me though
in reddit, theyll just see the hot post
i dunno about that honestly
right, for you, and im sure others. but the general reddit audience? its all about the hot posts
they arent going to find a good discussion on a ship, thell see a watered down meme of an opinion
i don't know what people on reddit do so i can't really argue
maybe people look at the q&a's, maybe they don't
i feel like most people on a sub like this can recognize shitposting when they see it
and look for further info
if not, oh well
anyways, my original objection was to the dude who said his friend has been reading too much reddit
implying that reddit offers inherently bad information
which isn't true
it does
it offers as much bad information as gph
its a terrible platform for discussion
except you will have to find the thread and scroll to the comment about your exact topic. here, you will just be redirected to a channel where you can get multiple perspectives immediately
reddit is not built for discussion
i mean i guess if you put a stupid amount of effort into it you can make reddit work but, honestly imo reddit should just be memes
you don't have to find the thread, it's always stickied at the top of the sub
i think reddit and discord both have their ups and downs
for discussion
reddit makes it easier to write up more detailed responses to things
and have a slower paced discussion
which can be beneficial
discord obv allows for more immediate back and forth
ive gone thru 10 top comments and none of this are actual discussion posts on that thread
while yoir points are true, its all based on if you can even find a discussion
hence, imo, reddit is not a good platform for discussion
but it's all in the daily q&a thread really, which is always stickied at the top of the subreddit
there isn't really any gameplay discussion outside of that thread
if you make one, most likely you will be discussing for one or two people, and even woth the other benefits, a low amount of perspectives is so bad
looking at the qna thread, any given question has like 2 answers. not very detailed. so low perspectives low detail vs many perspectives low detail the latter still wins out imo
meh, some questions get few responses, some get many - some with minimal detail, some with great detail
i think both platforms have value
it's ultimately up to the user to filter out the useful info from the garbage
and honestly the best way to do that is to use multiple platforms and consider answers from each one
at that point just learn chinese and go to cn threads
nah im just kidding
lol
i didnt mean to be rude anout this its just from my experience
anytime reddit tries tk be serious they are so bad at it
yeah all good
i don't think we really disagree overall anyway
reddit is a lot of shitposting
but there is good info in the appropriate place
i think i might have ptsd from leagueofmemes
the shitposts about metas there
arent ironic at all
yea understandable
