#1 day old beginner help.

Thanks for the advice. ๐ I know everyone was saying to focus on one fleet for now, but out of my list of ships, is there anything else worth throwing into a second fleet? https://imgur.com/a/IPpD7PY
btw, did you do the tutorial roll/build?
what I see atm, you could have a decent grouping with Portland / Laffey / London in front (left - right)
ports currently in the main fleet already
Yes, I did do the tutorial roll. Don't think I got anything amazing iirc.
LB2 Laffey for that torpedo pre-load
This is going to be my main fleet for now, Portland to take Laffey's place when she gets a few more levels.
something you want to grind early is multiple repair kits if you don't get them from gear boxes
Repair kits? What are those and how do I grind them?
You can get th repair kits from 3-4
they're aux gear that gives extra HP + level of HP regen
And I'll make a note to grab Cleveland and Phoenix on the next refresh.
Aka fox mine aka rip-oil-grinding-thm-foxes
even in high-level they're still essential gear for DDs
Now that I think about it, would Cleveland & Phoenix replace anyone in my main fleet? Or just give me actual options for the second fleet?
very good for low level ships trying to grind xp
though personally would still say London for 1st fleet since Portland is a gunboat and Laffey is gun focused destroyer, makes good use of London's artillery boost
ah rip.
london will go in the 1st fleet later once we start working on the 2nd fleet
cleve and phoenix helps with that
don't necessarily need amazing pulls to make good use. I had Tai Yuan in my fleet until she got to 100
later on looking at something like
Penny YKTN Uni - Phoenix Laffey London
Nelson - Port Helena Cleve
just needing to get 2 more good backliners
3-4, any t2/t3 tech (blue), any t3/t4 tech (purple)
btw, Saratoga pops up in chap 4 rite?
must admit I'm biased. Levelled Lex to 120 and still use in my mobbing group
so yea, Lexington grind is fine if you haven't finished up until chapter 3
I'm already on 4-1. XD
used both sisters for my Georgia exp run
I'll also recommend Souryuu and Hiryuu as a paired carrier group
nice. then I will recommend to also farm Sara.
indeed, the bunny sister carriers are also mighty fine.
but then, oathed Souryuu, so again biased lol
So what is my next recommended course of action? Farm 4-1 for Sara, then 3-3 for the sisters, then 3-4 for some repair kits?
I would say go after the earlier stages to get needed gear and earn xp at the same time for front fleet
uh it's 3-2 not 3-3
So 3-2 for the bunny sisters first then.
To craft a repair kit,u need 10 repair kits design. A little heads up for you
you can get the bunny sisters from 3-1, 2 or 3
btw, if you plan to lose or already lost your f2p virginity, strike that, a free Sara will be given to you once you make your first gem purchase
best dive bomber in the game pretty much
Lol, I'll probably lose that in a week or so.
yus
Mmhmm it is
It's a good idea to get those quick, especially if you use Sara or Lex, as they both have 2x dive bomber slots
Is there anything I should know for equipment? Think I understand most of the stats, but don't really know much in terms of crafting/upgrading.
something else you'll get from 3-4 grind alongside repair kits is the F4U corsair, which is another high-quality aircraft you can get early. Very good fighter
purple corsairs and helldivers are pretty much the best early-game carrier planes
I'll definitely keep an out for those. Just been using whatever I've been getting my hands on for now.
Though on a side note, should I be doing daily heavy crafts since we have the rate up? Or just stick to daily lights and save for the event at the end of the month?
Light is enuf i guess cuz they only use 1 cube
technically, daily craft is just 1 ship per day for the mission, so the 1 cube for light is all you have to do
Also, rmbr to do your daily raids
ship build mission for each day gives you back 1 cube and 800 coin, so literally what you put into a light build
Got it, so I'll ignore the rate up event for now then.
And don't believe I have access to them yet, but I'll keep an eye open for them.
rate up is just a thing for those specific KMS ships before they're added to the permanent heavy pool
well, Bismarck is going into the heavy pool, the others probably to light and special depending on which one
Ah, I see.
Also, who in my main fleet should I lb? Already lb2'd Laffey & Helena, which back line ships should I lb? Or just hold off on them in case they get replaced in the future?
you'll always have a use for Unicorn. She's a good mobbing support carrier for long, grinding rounds where you have to go through multiple fleets
๐ I'll lb her as well then and save the rest of my bullens for later.
Uni is in W5 right?
No clue, redeemed her from the guild shop. ๐
Lucky you
ponders if Graf Spee would be a worthwhile grab for early game from the guild shop
That's the advice I was given last night. Grabbed Helena, Uni, Shouhou, Penny. Then spent skill books on Helena to carry me through to stage 3.
makes sense. All three backliners have some form of heal skill
And double checked my dock. Think my tutorial craft was Gridley.
nah graf spee wouldn't be a better option over the rest
also pondering if Arizona is worth it. I got her carrying my early fleet until chapter 5 when I can get better gold BBs
wouldn't know. I kinda just forced my way through with 2x Carrier one BB fleets most of the game. Hiryuu/Souryuu pretty much carried me along
Repulse and Rodney have been my only really used BB/BCs even up until now
Oh, one other question. Which ship should I focus on skill training first? Laffey's been in class for obvious reasons, who's a good second candidate?
Unicorn, perhaps? Support carrier training?
My early game pretty much consisted of Souryuu/Hiryuu training second carrier division
apart from the skill training you need to do for the rewards from the training thing
yea unicorn
Makes sense. So I guess my current goal in the game is to farm ships and gear for a bit, rather than continue pushing. Farm 3-2 for the sisters, then 3-4 for repair kits. What should I do when I get both sisters? Shove them into fleet two alongside Nelson?
yes
๐
Oh, just unlocked the labs. Should I just ignore them for now?
research lab? or the shipyard as well?
Research lab.
well, as long as you can fuel it, research assignments are like commissions, they just happen in the background and give you decent prizes depending on which one
you need coins, cubes or other materials depending what it asks for, some just take time outright
So do the cheap ones for now I guess?
in the bottom left you'll see like focus or something
set your research season to pr3 and catchup to like seattle or who you like
Oh, and the shipyard/meta lab was unlocked as well.
Don't have enough ships in my library yet.
And don't quite understand what focus does. My lab research gets a bonus towards it, but what is pr3, and why can't I see any ships in it? I also have tabs for pr1 & pr2, but then the info box says that the bps from pr2 are limited.
the lab bonus gives you extra blueprints toward the selected ship with each project you complete
the number on it is how many BPs you can get in total for that series
so for PR1 that total is across all 6 ships
How about pr2? Is that also across all 6 ships even though 2 are dr? Not that I have any clue what dr is.
depending on participation in war archives and the like, Roon might be a quick one for requirements (7 as opposed to 20 for vanguard)
also no, that's across the 4 ships for PR2, then 150
DR is seperate and you get 150 each
(300 for the PR) (150 for DR)
I'm just going to nod my head for now. Still have no clue what pr & dr stand for. ๐
yea don't worry about it for now
the PR are basically gold rare ships
