I dont know which server you are on, but you could look at "Building" -> "Exchange" and if there is a decent ship available buy the ssr ship for 80 tokens (yes its worth to retire blue and purple ships as long as you keep 1 copy of each)

that might give you a decent ship which will do alot for you

#

javelin is sadly the worst starter of the 3, so you could also restart, if you dont mind that.
(that will only make a difference at the start, as you will eventually get all of them anyways)

z23 is more main gun based, laffey is a mix of torp and gun.
