I honestly don’t really know what to do, when I go into a mission I use fleet 2 till they run out of ammo or get low

theyre healers and will help you alot on mobs

definitely level up port, shes a good tank especially after retrofit and youll need her at lvl100 anyway to finish the newbie missions and get a free SR

Prinz doesn’t do good damage and as an offtank she is kinda deadweight

tbh though id personally just get shouhou and then grab like helena or maybe cleveland from the purple oen
if you like uni better that works too
Uni and shouhou are basically gonna perform the same at this time, and it doesnt really matter for you rn what their differences are since they both have the same heal skill
and btw helena/cleveland are good choices to grab from the purple one if you can

cuz helena is the best boss debuffer (something that isnt a huge concern rn but she has good dps, albeit a bit weak)
and cleveland is just an all rounder cl who is decent

you mean uni/shouhou? you should only grab one of them rn tbh
but theyre healers, so you use them on your mobbing fleet
aka the one which fights stuff before boss

ye for fleet 2 id rec swapping out both avrora and prinz
and putting in pheonix or port as the front (when theyre leveled more) and maybe adding Z23 in there
as for backline again, id swap out zui for the healer you got

Are there options besides Phoenix? Or should i use her, Portland and Pola?

pheonix is one of the unqiue ships which can self heal a significant amount
thats why shes useful on mobs
but if you dont wanna use her thats fine
portland and pola are good sure

What about Indy, Portland, and Pola?

pola isnt a tank per se
but port is one, and pheonix is specifically a mob tank
ie dont try to boss tank with pheonix

Yes. Phoenix should be in the fleet you use to fight normal enemies. Portland should be used to fight bosses. Pola can work but she should ideally be in the opposite position to the tank at the back of the frontline.

It’s okay I watch as Atago survives exercises with over half her hp as my entire fleet is obliterated by a single enterprise airstrike

Why is Portland on my mob fleet?

When leveled

Also you need to level portland for the beginner missions
Same with your starter

I was thinking Phoenix, Pola, and Jeanne for my mob fleet
Or I guess I could use Phoenix, Jeanne, and Sirius for 3 CL on my mob fleet
And Portland, Atago, Pola for my boss fleet

Thing is port and atago are redundant
You want them in diff fleets
And since port is lower level she's in mob
Sirius is only in boss cause she's mainly a carrier buffer and you got majority carriers in boss with akaga

I mean is the campaign on normal hard enough that I can’t use my favorite ships instead of the best possible fleet.

Idk it’s hard to see Atago as a tank when she also hits harder than anything else I have

well that's cause lvl modifier
And lb status
The higher your level than the enemy the more damage you do
So since shes ur highest lvl ship makes sense shes also highest damaging
But in the grand scheme of things her damage is meh
You also probably gave her your best gear as well which also affects it

Reason i say this is cause u can overlevel a lot to compensate for the difficulty up until around here
