speedscumming would only make sense if bad, but fast planes were a lot faster than normal planes

they're only slightly faster
the damage you get from doing damage is much omre valuable

purple ones are fine, but purple F4U corsair is better
and since you have plenty of those, you can use those instead
your gold hellcat is already attached to hiryuu anyway, who you are using
I'm only telling you to yoink equipment from units you aren't using atm
like in unicorn's case, you can yoink enterprise's +7 purple catapult and drop it into the slot where unicorn had a +5 blue one

the rate of fire and range of AA guns is averaged across all AA guns in your fleet, but they do individual damage
they all fire at the same time based on that average rate of fire though

So on main with low aa stat I just put fast guns

fast and/or high range. AA efficiency matters more than AA stat as well

ships that don't have high AA output won't be contributing much anyway, so you give them guns that improve your AA circle characteristics. fast guns with solid range. these are called Accelerators
roomba is a high-damage AA gun so you want it to go on the ships you have in the fleet with the best AA output

minnie is a bit of a weird case but denver definitely has the best AA output in the fleet

it's generally not worth it IMO to raise an aa carry instead of just good full-team AA
in minnie's case, her per-shot AA output is not amazing (only 250 stat or so and 125% efficiency) but she is allowed to cheat cause her reload stat is so stupid high
that's basically what it is with her

also AA guns on main fleet ships still fire from the vanguard
which is weird
but all six AA guns fire from the center of your vanguard's AA circle at planes in range
even if the ships they're equipped to are in the main fleet

Its a weird mechanic over all
but essentially;
ships with lower AA stats get fast guns/bigger area
ships with high AA stats/skills get guns with higher damage.
