how?
in the first few days (7+ days), you are to set your catch up to pr2 for now, pick DRs if you want. Unlock monarch/saint louis. Then buy 10 bps per day on the one you unlocked for 3k coins. This will persist for 35 days, last day costing 150 coins. So total 102,150 coins. A lot but investing it daily is no issue as you make more than 8k coin per day.
Then once monarch/saint louis is D30, set catch up to her and convert all of into protocore, dont use it on FS
getting 300 bps of catch up should take 2 months, do your other pr research while waiting.
so after all this, you get 3 gears worth of protocore and few more which is a cheap bargain as only ship bps can get discounts, gears are still subject to the harder grind and more expensive grind (plates arent cheap early, especially when you want to max your gear).

This strat will last for 3-4 months so make sure while doing this is to convert the time save thingies into protocore as well and buy the gear you need monthly. So by the time this protocore rolls out, you aint overflowing and getting gear consistently.

Should I use catch up PR1 Blueprints on the ship or should I convert to protocore?

TLDR: If you want short term and fast ship gain, use it.
However, If you want to be a business man and invest in late game stonk, there is a method to convert all the blueprints to protocore.

How does this work?

in the first few days (7+ days), you are to:

• Set your catch up to pr2 for now, pick DRs if you want.
• Unlock monarch/saint louis. Then buy 10 bps per day on the one you unlocked for 3k coins. This will persist for 35 days, last day costing 150 coins. So total 102,150 coins. This might seem like a lot of coins, but by investing it daily it's not a huge burden as you make more than 8k coins per day.
• Once monarch/saint louis is D30, set catch up to her and convert all of the blueprints into protocore. **Don't use these blueprints for Fate Simulation (FS). If you are unable to convert into protocore, check your settings and disable "Save for Fate Simulation."

**Notes: **

• Getting 300 bps of catch up should take 2 months, so do your other pr research while waiting.
• After all this, you get slightly more than 3 gears worth of protocore. This is a cheap bargain as only ship bps can get discounts, gears are still subject to the harder grind and more expensive grind (plates aren't cheap early, especially when you want to max your gear).
• This strategy will last for 3-4 months so make sure while doing this to convert the Combat Data Packs (for both Season 1 and Season 2) into protocore as well to buy more gear. Since the shop has a monthly limit to the number of prints you can buy, spending the combat data packs early means that by the time protocore from the catchup rolls out, you aren't overflowing.
