for bossing the obvious picks are helena,enty,ark royal and warspite, while unicorn, shouhou, phoenix are more geared towards mobbing. od you want me to build u a mob and boss fleet as an example and tell you why for each ship?

a mob fleet u can build rn would be pennsylvania,unicorn,fill in waht u want + portland,laffey,phoenix for example

she doesnt have preference its just more that with time DD's become squishier and could get instagibbed in later boss fights with high burst

as others said u can supplement yourself with ectl tierlist to help u identify certain strenghts or preffered uses of ships but it should be purely used for reference

they help sure but ships like portland want their retros way more

Is Portland actually that good late game? Cause everyone says so but I stoped using her cause I got Sandy. Now that I’m doing two fleets though I’ll probably use her again

well there is an obvious anwser of monarch for boss bb flaship slot, there is Roon if u specifically want a tank that can be used for mob or boss but she kinda got powercrept by newer additions, Ibuki is also a safe bet because she has her nieche in comparison to all other pr1's that doesnt have competition as she is a tankiest torpmeme member

and as for monarch vs warspite its more of warspite is better vs dd's and cl bosses as these tend to have a lot of eva and high accuracy helps there

while monarch has an AP barrage with slow thats good against medium and heavy armour opponents and also helping rest of your backline

Option 2. These small portraits in the left upper corner show the chibi version of the ship thats the boss of the map so... just learn all chibis

also for late game OP SI is a thing and there u want to have focused fleets of triple BB. triple cv etc but thats a topic for much later i think

neptune is a zombie mob tank like hyperpower phoenix but she kinda got most powercrept out of all pr1's unfortunetly

while louis is a dps CA that wants to use HE guns and can be used as a mob tank because of blue skill
