nice
ok on the db front your're fine
you're lacking in fighters
so the F4U pirate with the AA skill is a good idea
but it depends what u were wanting in the first place
also torpedo bomber front, the barracudas is fine as well
As far as what I want goes, I can't give a very clear answer. I don't think I have the knowledge needed to properly judge what makes this or that plane better
In truth, I want to replace those purple plane fillers I slapped onto my Taihou. But it's at this point I probably need to show what I have on her in the first place
ic fair enough, so taihou is who u want to equip rn?
the SB2C helldiver is still one of the goat Dbs, that's fine
if u can, try get another barracuda
^^ I have loads for a reason lol
lemme just check gear lab quickly
ik u havent got operation siren unlocked yet
okay so you know what the wyvern is right?
I notice that Swordfish is a dive bomber, at least judging by the description the game has for it. Seeing as I have SB2C Hellcat on Taihou, and that is confirmed to be good, I should probably try to replace either her fighter or her torpedo bomber for now
Those, I do not know if they are any good, in terms of what I have on her currently. What kind of plane is the F4U?
despite the description, it's actually a torpedo bomber (sorted for Tbs only)
kinda dumb ik but ^^
np it's an easy mistake to make
about that
it is good because it has the slow
but it has a slightly longer loading time and idk how much u will benefit from slows rn
That slow should be useful. It will make it easier for my VG's torpedos to hit, I reckon
My Vanguard still packs a punch at my current spot in the game, at least relatively speaking. I don't know if that's merely an indicator for how poorly my back line is built, but there you have it
ic yeah fair enough
i think u can make do with your current fighter but I personally really like the core data one
was the former BiS fighter
Then now I know the Swordfish's usefulness comes from its slow. Even still, I want to know more about the F4U
the F4U has a skill that buffs the whole fleet's AA
dw ive played the game for 3 years
that's why I have a lot of gear and luxury to choose whatever I want
here are the fighter stats
sea fury worth anything?
might craft one cuz looks coool
it's a side grade to the sea fang
Well then, I now know what both F4U and Swordfish do. Now comes the question, will either of these have long term value? Or do they, at best, serve as merely a short term improvement over what my Taihou currently has?
yes
Will I easily find gear that's better for her than these two?
both have long term value
and yes you can fairly easily but u probably will have more CVs u want to equip
Fair enough
that's why I also have this 3rd option if u want to go long term
the blackburn firebrand is not as good a torpedo bomber as the barracuda
but you can use it to upgrade into a wyvern later down the line
with all plates refunded and 25% of the gold cost
wyvern = torp + fighter
(gold refund is what i remember off the top of my head, I could be wrong)
So basically, you can use gears to craft more powerful gears
no other plane really does what the 818 does
we need a better refund system desperately
most of the time yeah
Down the line, I think I will definitely want to pay close attention to that. But for now, I think having a Swordfish should bring the greatest payoff
For now, I just wanna spend these 800 data cores on something worthwhile. I feel like I'm just hoarding them for nothing, and while I'm at it, I get to make a ship I really like better
sounds good
ngl, u have lots of good options so as long as you made an informed choice you're happy with I don't think you can go too far wrong
Thank you for your help. It not only helped me choose the best option in this situation for my Taihou, it also, oddly enough, taught me that gears can have passives of their own. Other than the auxiliary ones, I mean
This is the first time I've seen a plane or an AA or anything like that that's usually on the right side of the gears UI having a passive
That means there's more to choosing the right one than just damage and raw stats
