#Research PR8 vs PR6/3 ?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
why you would do Pr3 at all is beyond me
camp gun rot
and PR6 is a very dubious choice
it was mainly based on the guide to priortize chappygun and Flandre gun for a few months speedrun
my thoughts are laid out here in simple and easy tor read bullet points
https://suchiguma.github.io/miniguides/research-focus
Makes a recommendation to new players for how to set their Research Focus. Lists the pros and cons of focusing on each research season.
look at the top and read the title
before ch13, there is little to no requirement/incentive to use AP guns and by the time you reach ch13 you will DEFINITELY get enough protocore to buy AP guns
if you want to clarify something in the guide then ask away
since the gear airplane cant not research able so, better use protocore on it right?
what
i kinda had the Chappy/Flandre gun by now
let me put it like this
1 is use for BB kotori and 1 is for BB maryland
yeah and it's worse than 406 mk6 before ch13
research is the most time consuming and least efficient way to get prints for ships and gear

you don't want to do it unless there's no other option(s) available
I mean if the UR in december were proven to be powercreep them, so it is better to prepare gear for them
instead of toward for more PR/DR then would eventually get powercreep
you use 6 ships per fleet and you often use 2 feets
just look at the multiplier difference of AP vs HE and light is the most prevalent enemy under ch13
what does a new ship being introduced change
you'll still use the ships from PR7 and 8 even if they do get powercrept out of the top slot
powercreep happens when a ship does exactly the same thing better than another ship
but that does not mean the powercreeped ship is shit
that just means there's someone that can be better
and I have the luxury of being that picky because I have every ship in the game
you do not
also the rainbow gun in pr8 is the fattest incentive to go for pr8
well even under chapter 13 you have some moderately dangerous heavy armor mobs but the boss nodes are primarily light yes
its better than the other guns for med/heavy with the exception of 1 limited 1/1 gun in medium and allows people to reach 4 salvo runs in META without oathing
i think you guys are getting ragebaited so im just here with popcorn
"moderately dangerous" are the same ones that die to 1 salvo of mk6 anyway
okay okay
let assume i still PR8 for like 12 months straight. after i got a character, i still need to have exp farm for them, but since i dont have the fleet tech for exp farm, how can it be solve?
if u dont have enough stuff to get the ship after 12 months you are doing something else wholly wrong
just depends on your levels, lower chapters can get overwhelmed by level difference so it's kind of unfair comparison
I would say you're not playing the game if that happens
cheeky remember to breathe

Fleet tech after you get to w12 and get yourself established does not take that long to farm up assuming you don't already have it
And farming the xp takes less than a week
but what if those old char from Rare flech tech are not getting rerun like some in FFNF MNF RN etc etc
most top UR PR/DR nowadays are consist in them
There's plenty of ships you can farm and get from shops to fill the gap
yeah i was refer to this
nvm this is only for Flandre
i might not get PR2 that soon for a PR6 ship

but yeah as i preparing for ship it would possibly take 1 year for them to fill up
flandre is beyond shit btw
Uhh
Why the fuck would it take a bloody year
Of preo
so techically PR8 is easiest to tech ?
It doesn't matter because you'll need about 7 months just for them to be usable
If you can't get the tech requirements done in w12 before then
You're just not playing the game at that point
And a reminder
You can't use bullins on PR ships
You have to use blueprints
yeah, i just bought the Blueprint from event yesterday, i realize they cant be convert into protocore (unless if i dev 30 one... which only happen in future)
I basically gated myself after spend all to buy those Blueprint 💀
I could just buyy some cat and some gold/ oil / Augment upgrade to fasten up the speed to develop my SR team
The blue print is sitting in home like watching me buying bitcoin and hope it would help me become milionare 1 day
And the latest seasons don't have coining
ok now for my actual answer
lets give a conservative estimate of 5 months to get enough bps for a pr8 ship like mecklenburg for example, in that 5 months you could have built roon, and probably also fdg, and by simply playing the game you probably have enough points for mecklenburg maybe 3 months in, another conservative estimate of 3 weeks to actually construct her, giving you 2 months to raise her to 120/5 and by then she will be dev30 and usable for hard content
in these 5 months if you absolutely speedrun the hell out of the game you probably will be finishing w13 and on w14, mecklenburg will sub in very nicely to help you with 14-4 and be a good pick for w15 soon
in those 5 months you'll also complete fdg, anchorage, maybe plymouth, hakuryuu etc, all of them good ships to use in hard content that you're speedrunning for
you will also run into at least 2 UR events including guam/laff2 rerun, securing you 2 of the best vanguards for w15, and a modern UR first run that will likely be pretty good
now if you went for pr3/6 for whatever reason, you lose out on getting mecklenburg in the future, but lets say you get everything else, critically you will be missing a UR BB for w14 and w15, which while you could (and should) get musashi for, you will still need a boss BB for w15 unless you're absolutely goated at the game
instead youll be getting i dunno old gear thats obtainable already, that is easily obtainable if you minmax the hell out of the existing stuff, and critically missing a mecklenburg and also mecklenburg quad 305 gun that's very good

so a UR with a purple gun is better than SR with rainbow gun in long term investment
i see, i will look forward for them 2 UR rerun too
more like 2 URs is better than an SR
thanks for roasting guidance me
as for the gear you think you're missing out, here's how that goes
itll take you 3 months minimum to get to w13 solely on commander level requirements
itll also take you time to farm opsi gear which is unlocked only at lv60 when you unlock opsi to do w14
your speedrun is gated by time and gear which you cant obtain in a short timeframe, notably triple 155 kai for w14
protocore is also easy to get with catchups, to coin pr1, 2, 3 and then use catchup for 300 bps, exchanging them for 1500 protocore
you can also do the same with DRs, and get fdg 15 days later in exchange for 3000 protocore
azuma and drake are also there for an additional 6000 protocore
to put it in simple terms
there's no ship or gear that'll give you an automatic win
it's all about stacking bocks/cards in your favour
also not to mention the gobs of protocore you get from missions related to research in that top left tab
the more blocks/cards you stack, the better things will go in the long run
more like 8 for new probs
5 months is rather fast for a non cuber
what cheeky is saying is that azur lane endgame is not winnable by one ship or one piece of gear, its by alot of good things stacked together over a long time
speedrunning is fine, however you need to accept that speedrunning strategy is different from general enjoyment which is what gph recommends
if you specifically want to do speedrunning strategies, specify it to gph, and somebody will help you with that, for example me that cleared 14-4 in 7 months and 15-4 in 11.5 months since starting
i didnt think i would able to reach that far for w13 w14, but i will see how it will progress
btw it is all f2p related right?
theres even better speedrunners in the game like abdou (now quit) that cleared 15-4 in 6 months or aurora (also quit) that cleared 15-4 in 52 days, but for good reason we do not recommend such strategies and they also had very good timing with UR events which carried hard
theres also that chinese guy that did 15-4 in 26 days or something
