Im my non professional opinion, I feel as though you might outright need better ships. Tho, some in their can do strongholds in my experience. Like sandy and sara for instance

They will be. You should be at least lvl 120 at a bare minimum. But again, im not a expert, just speaking from my experience

Do you have Essex's retrofit item? If so, she's your next bet to put resources on as of right now. If you don't, then get Yat Sen's retrofit just to have seeing as she's already one of your higher leveled ships anyway.
But honestly for right now, just max limit break your ships like Shinano and Essex (who's honestly good even without her retro), and other decent ships to consider are Yat Sen retro, Bois Belleau, Janus, and Chapayev (with her augment), just as additional choices if you need them.

Yat Sen is pretty tanky for a light cruiser so she can definitely be in the front position

Hakuhou can work well with Shinano but it's honestly up to you if you want to try to get her

Also once you do get Yat Sen's retrofit in order, get her umbrella auxiliary item from the core data shop, it helps even more with her tankiness and survivability

Honestly your first fleet ships minus Unicorn are good enough options for a boss fleet, I'd switch Unicorn and Saratoga as Unicorn is better suited for mobbing

Even if you dont have the bullins. Idea suggest getting her just to hold onto her. She absolutelt evicerates heavy armor

This because sara should be ran on boss? She tends to treat me well on mobs when I use her in strongholds. She does suprisingly well and has solid aoe because of the dual bombers. Then again, Essex has a preload

I know Sara can do both but I think it's better for her to be in boss in this case since there's not too many other options in the ships

I can see Hood, Unicorn and Bois Belleau working in the ships you have for the backline
And Yat Sen, Tai Yuan and Chang Chun for the vanguard seeing there's really not many ships I can list out that are decent enough 😅 But the Dragon Empery sync should help each of those three out well
Unironically might be a silly yet goated mob fleet now that I think about it, with the Unicorn preload, the Bois Belleau fast loads, Dragon Empery doing their "murder everything" shenanigans
