as for the current event, if you can clear t3 it will be a good place to farm as it has oil cap, and getting zuihou. but you will need to push main story anyway so your choice about how to spend your oil.

would also use the triple magnetic torps(purple) instead of quintuple(purple) on laffey but its already upgraded to +6 so ig it doesn't really matter

could stop at 12k points and then try pushing campaign too
T3 is a good place to level your ships for now as it has oilcap (which unlocks in campaign from W9 onwards)
wouldn't be too late to clear campaign when your ships are stronger
