#Fleet help

unicorn is a must use for mobs due to the powerful heal, you also want a BB or BC on flag, hood would work decent. since the bomb boats are in the middle, she should still be able to intercept them. the main threat here on mobs are the BB nodes that have nagato-class enemies that shell your main fleet and can set them on fire. to mitigate this, couple things you could do, play manual and erase the bullets with an airstrike, or equip a fire extinguisher on the flagship (hood in this case)
I’ve been using saratoga, hood, unicorn, portland, laffey, and Helena
I had no problem beating all the mobs and getting to the boss.. I just ran out of time against the boss with all 6 ships still alive
u didn't show all ur ships so one can't see how to make another fleet to make it tank 2 ammo for the main fleet to do the rest
this issue might be cleared also with just gearing properly the ships
u are actually very underestimating the upgrade mechanic of the gear
so you want to use some battleships equipped with those triple 406mm guns you have
one of the main dps ships has her gear at +0
well unfortunately since he doesn't have more than one set of boats leveled yet he will have to basically do everything with the one fleet unless he goes level and limit break some more
Uhh I showed the ones I have leveled
I can show everything I have but not all useful
here is what i would recommend
The reason my gear is +0 is cause I dont know if I have any gear worth investing in permanently just yet. Been just trying to get buy without having to just yet
hood with twin 410mm (good), twin 127mm, any AA, SG radar, fire control radar
unicorn with f4u corsair, barracuda (gold, it's good), any AA, steam catapults/oil tanks
saratoga with hellcat, helldiver (very good), suisei, steam catapults/oil tanks
portland with twin 203mm SKC (gold, good), twin 127mm, any AA, toolbox, naval camo/rudder
laffey with twin 120mm, 533mm improved (gold, best torps for auto), any AA, 2x toolbox
helena with twin 150mm tbtsk (good), twin 127mm, any AA, toolbox, naval camo/rudder
you can +10 everything i mentioned as good immediately
you can +6 some of the other stuff
mainly, i would say:
the corsair/hellcat, the twin 120mm, and the purple toolboxes. it also should be cheap to +7 naval camo/rudder anyways
this should do right
?
oh he has a BTD, i didn't notice
hm hood with the 120mm instead of laffey is something i thought about but whether it makes the difference or not is all or nothing
yeah what left is knowing how to spread the resources to enhance the parts
otherwise i feel hood should have a 127mm and laffey the 120mm
the single 127mm technically has decent paper dps but... it's rather inaccurate
and yea he has the tbtsk for helena
which is def the better choice
i think helena can take the naval camo or second toolbox instead of SG and let hood have the SG for more accuracy
also since hood damage is literally all on her barrage, twin 410mm is very justified, especially against a DD boss that kinda moves around quite a bit
aand that trend of DD bosses will continue throughout world 9
basically the bomb boats on world 9 come down the middle so DD guns can hit them. whether 120mm is better than 127mm is down to if it could hit both of them
which would be dependent on shell speed/reload
it's possible that it could make the difference, though i would also expect for at least one of the bomb boats to be destroyed by vanguard
leaving one to be taken care of
but well i guess he said he didn't have problems reaching the boss despite the gear issue
so if he enhances a bunch and goes at it, shouldn't be too difficult
The gear changes did the trick thanks 🥰
I followed your first set of instructions

saratoga has a good retrofit and will serve you well up to and including world 13 at least so you can do that
also conditional on getting her unique augment
What is her augment /how do I augment?
when a ship is MLB they can equip an augment
the rightmost circular slot
if you click there you will see a list of augments, when you see one augment that is gold, that is a ship-exclusive augment
Should I retrofit Helena?
you can, though her retrofit is just for a bit of stats and the ability to adjust when the first activation of her skill occurs, which while a bit important, it's not super crucial right now
