So for main fleet
"Only" spot that really matters is flag, since most BB's barrages are dependent on their position, in this case Hood
And also BBs are mostly tankier than CVs so you want them to be in that position since if Flag dies you lose

Vanguard Positioning is easy. Just watch them. You'll see the left ship leads the other two around the fight. They idiotically run into the most bullets so are the "tank" the right ship gets dragged around last and idiotically eats the second most bullets. So they are the "off tank". The middle ship only gets hit by bullets the two idiots didn't run into or eat so they are the safest or "middle" ship

So that's the thing
You get the Threat Level to Safe
And that makes it way easier to carry lower level ships
What I did atleast was, use a high level vanguard (110+) and carry 3 Iron Blood shitters that were leveled with books (Lv 70~90)
That is the basics of CDC grinding for PR ships

300 BPs for all PR ships of each season and 150 BPs for each DR in each season
You wanna use FdG's catchup and get 150 BPs

There, in this case FdG's were from catchup even though it was a PR4 Agir Face research
Once you are done with FdG's 150/150
You can either start with Agir's or Anchorage's
But with Anchorage's catchup you can decide to get her asap or delay her catchup and use it after she's Fs5, then convert 300 bps in 1500 protocore, this is min maxing and it's not needed but greatly rewarded 
But you will probably want to do this with PR1~PR3 since they are not really high prio unlike Anchorage

-farm 12-1 to lower threat level
-switch to iron blood 3 main ship fleet to farm for FdG
-analyze my exp chips to get blueprints
-after FdG go for...anchorage?
-while doing all this i use the research selection catch up to get blueprints to mlb them

Add to the last part you should be buying 10 BPs each day for FdG with takes 7200 coins and for Anchorage 10~15 3000~8250
Yeah coining and research is really expensive, that's why we recommend to start focusing on it when ppl reach W12 to keep up with the coin spending

For someone like Saratoga Retro + Augment or Independence Retro
Indep has more uses than Sara in later Stages but both are pretty solid replacements

If you're dumping 20k oil per week (weekly income is more than 28k) no more than two weeks with qualified ships. Problem is you have no qualified ships and creating them will set your overall progress back by two weeks.

Idk if someone answered already but focus on Hood and Shangri's first then Laffey and Z23's
You will probably not end up using the latter two for later stages (W14+) but they are good to have regardless maybe get one of them for now since they are 20k each

Because she's the best SR tank, also PR4 as a whole is a really good season terms on ships
You use 4/5 of them in many comps
Also good in gear, good CB gun, Best Fighter against Medium armor, decent general use AA, Saiun TB which is used for timing and Tenrai which is the best general use DB
