Check your depot there could be a couple of gold boxes, try opening them for gold gear. Do not buy them in any shop, just open them if you have in your inventory

If we were to simplify, yes, CA's might not need a lot of AP guns, but it wouldnt hurt to have one or two. In most cases CA's use HE, but if alternative would be purble, i consider it a waste of resources to +10 purple gear when you +10 gold gear afterwards
