Yeah, I wouldn't say Montiplier's a must-invest right now, but nothing you've got atm is gonna do super well in W13 otherwise, and unless you pick up someone better Monty's your best screener.
Generally you want a couple of units with good AA.
You can farm for Isuzu in chapter 7-3, she has a retrofit that makes her very good at shooting down planes(squishy though)

I’m only just finishing off W9 atm as I’ve been doing nothing but event grinding and opsi
So I’m not so sure I need to run into committing to Mont if I may have better options come along in the next couple weeks

Yeah, if you pick up a Sandy or an equivalent, then Montiplier becomes significantly less useful comparatively.
I mostly just recommend her because she's an SSR Cleveland CL, which means good stats and MGM+1 and you lack better options.
I'd still check up on world 7-3 for Isuzu though, as she comes close to Sandy as far as an AA carry goes and is a Rare, so her drop shouldn't take too long

I’m even more starved for purple bulins right now. Feels weird putting them into a rare ship when I could be mlb’ing USS ships for fleet tech to get one step closer to Anchorage 😂

100% fair, though as I said, she's a Rare so you can also just get multiple copies if you're lucky.
This isn't necessarily super urgent though, as you only start really needing AA come world 12, it's 13 where it becomes crucial to fleet build specifically for that chapter

Ah alright. I appreciate the ideas. She’s definitely on my radar now and yeah rares are easy. God knows how many Northampton I’ve gotten the past couple weeks in this event 😂

You can pick up a San Diego from the Medal shop, but obviously that's dependent on the Month

Most of the medal BBs are "good" but generally are niche or want specific fleet comps to do things, so not really recommended
