It does not help that 7-4 hard wants me to use two cl and I only have helena and galissonerie at a decent level... and one of them always dies

I've been told Eugen Muse is supposed to be reasonably good, but I haven't used her so I can't really verify
Probably in terms of training a second fleet, I would go something like...
Hood/Independence/Saratoga/Helena/Roon/last slot can be anything that strikes your fancy, or maybe another good ship you get in future

When their levels are more equal, I'd shuffle Enty off to fleet 2 (boss) and use Independence in the mob fleet

Uhhhh... she's not bad at least, as far as I can tell
Not earth-shattering or game breaking, but she's solid enough, all things considered

Some people have been downplaying her a bit bc their bar is way too high
And, in fairness, Friedrich Carl from the event before this one is better than her, through and through

You can try and farm more in SP5 if you want
It's a good place to train your low-level ships, actually... probably around equal to Ch9, and the levels are lower too

Sara is uh...
It's kinda two-part imo, she needs her retrofit AND her augment, and that is an expensive investment
Although "not good" is a real stretch... she's maybe not sitting at the table with the URs, but she isn't bad by any means

Should I start caring about gear now? Ive been slapping gold gear on the ships without knowing, except for enty who has helldiver because someone said it was good here

Definitely
You should have started caring about gear from day 1 👀
But definitely by this point you will want to have an idea of what gear is good, what is bad, and especially what gold gear is bad despite the shine

Helldiver is cheap and most generally use Dive Bomber.

you will do fine with just Helldiver - Barracuda for most content until W13.

Vanguard only usually needs the Repair Toolkit and Improved Hydraulic Rudder.

If you don’t have the Hydraulic then just use another toolkit or Naval Camouflage as cheaper alternatives.
