Yeah. Just the leveled dupes I meant. There’s a nosh and Boise that I leveled when I was first starting.
Ah
Penn, Unicorn, Shangri La,Roon, starter, Noshiro Muse
Stick to that one fleet for the time being, until W9 or so
And I don’t use nj or shin until they’re mlb, correct?
Yes
And another tip
Early game fleet building is as much about economics as it is building a good fleet performance wise
Mhm... here is an example of what is meant by specific solutions to specific problems
I’m at world 7 with no signs of slowing down with the current crappy fleets I threw together.
One day you will want to stuff your fleets full of SRs/URs
Right now, though, that is simply unfeasible
Yes
I believe that
The problem is you will hit a road block
At World 7, you are powering through by sheer level advantage
Yeah. And that’s what I’m trying to prepare for
Which is why I’m here now before we’re in too deep
It's not as if they can't be fixed even if you were in deeper
It'd just be much more of a hassle
Does anything change if I can max Cheshire? I really like her 🤣
But I think she shares a role with Roon, right?
Only as a tank
Other than that, they are vastly different
She'll be used for the second fleet
Nice. Okay. I’ll hold on that thought.
Right now just focus on the one fleet though
Note, incidentally, that the reason you don't want to use two fleets until at least W9 is oil cap makes training a second fleet much, much, much more economical
That is part of it yeah
So do I just remove the second fleet and run 1 fleet through the whole stage?
Yes
Until 9?
yep
How much of a dmg drop off is there for fleets out of ammo?
Honestly, you can stack your URs in the second fleet, just don't actually use them in battle...
Cross-fleet and all...
Also max limit break your Shangri la
I was using her, and I just saw the tier list today mark her pretty freaking high.
She was def not a prio for me though. Guess that’s changing lol
Don't be too enthralled by the tier lists... they can be... how do you put it...
Somewhat dangerous to take without further clarifications
Yep
Well that’s very different than I’m used to.
This game is very different than my normal game.
I genuinely don't know how it is for other games ngl... but after a certain point, I stopped reading the tier lists altogether
At some point, you're just better off reading in-depth written descriptions of ships, especially complex ones, and over time you'll come to be able to understand the strengths and weaknesses of a ship by just looking at her stats and skills
That is why it's not a bad thing to want to practice fleetbuilding
So if you want, taking the fleet you've put together, it is worth making sure you really understand why each is in the fleet and what role each serves
And think about what ships you have that could serve as substitutes if you needed it (even if you don't actually swap them)
Thinking about it this way, you will slowly but surely get the hang of fleetbuilding
Thank you both! This was extremely helpful!
@visual flicker @foggy forge last question! Can I load random things I want to level into fleet 2? Or do I totally remove it? Right now I loaded that NPC Shinano I’m completing the quest for perm unlock, my URs, Chesh, Dido, and SF.
Uh, right now, while you're only clearing with one fleet, you can stuff whatever you want into fleet 2 because you won't actually be using it
I would suggest stuffing your URs in there just so they can give a little bit of support with their cross-fleet skills
It can also help you meet ACV requirements, although early world requirements are low enough that your fleet 1 with two CV/Ls should make it without help tbf
This is new fleet, per the recommendations.
penny will be flag btw, the shiny stage or in this image leftmost ship
you'd usually want your bb/bc to be flag for coverage against suicide boats
Ah!
