i use laffey 2 as tank but i dont have ara to protect but idr if she dies so just test it out if gumo survives till ur last airstrike with laffey

if aegir at least d25 then u can lvl and use aegir in fleet 2 or fleet 4

actually maybe owari in mob and nelson in fleet 4 if u go with howe to activate her
air raid assistance basicly all ships possessing that skill e.g kazagumo and kear
and send ur bb fleets first
cv fleet should finish it off
due to the anti shelling mod on low hp
Also I've been using this fleet for the guild boss but never got close to beating it:
- Sovetsky Soyuz - Soyuz gun
- Independence - Wyvern, Flapjack
- Enterprise - Wyvern, Tenrai, Hellcat
- Jintsuu Meta - Chappy gun, 533mm Quintuple Torpedo Mount Mk IX
- Shimakaze - 76mm blue gun, 533mm Quadruple Homing Torpedo Mount
- Unzen - Unzen gun, 533mm Quadruple Homing Torpedo Mount

All the gear is +10 so wondering if I need to focus on fleet improvements, gear improvements, or both to beat the guild boss
From my understanding, Wyverns and Unzen gun are suboptimal for the heavy armor boss?
well i mean its not something i would focus on since rewards are independant of your score
but ig its not smth that deviates from opsi either
converging are preferred
especially against compiler who has stop timings usually matching cv rld quite nicely so they can land it all withotu slows

Thanks, I just realized this week why PR4 is recommended besides Tenrai and the ships. Finally have a use case for the rocket fighters. Thanks so much for implementing the fleet displayer as well!
If I have 5 UR bulins in reserve, should I max limit break UVH (4 UR bulins needed) or Kronstadt first (3 UR bulins needed)?
Generally it seems like prioritizing the main fleet is recommended. I have 2 backline URs (Soyuz, FDG) which are both BBs and 3 frontline URs (Guam, Laffey II, Unzen) already max limit broken. Agir is dev level 24 so she might also be almost ready to use.
I could also hold onto the bulins for when I get Shinano or New Jersey. I think I should have 3 more bulins by the time of the Chinese anniversary for the new UR.

There are better tanks than Kron who are decently easy to get
And damage is true, upgrading from anchorage to Kron damage is less than a third of the upgrade from a gold BB to a UvH

Are there any other fleet compositions I could use for farming 13-4 hard more consistently (for S rank)? My plan is to upgrade gear as well once I have more gold.
These are the two compositions that I have been able to clear with inconsistently so far:

Independence, Enterprise, and San Diego are in both fleets
Soyuz, Guam, Anchorage - Usually at least one ship in the Vanguard dies but sometimes one of the main fleet ships dies as well. Have been leaning towards anti-air mode (Guam or Anchorage as tank) but have been able to clear double line mode as well (Guam as tank).
Saratoga, Laffey II, Sirius - Tried experimenting with this fleet with some success (barely finished before 1 min remaining mark); vanguard survivability is still inconsistent
Support barrage - Unzen + Shimakaze/Guam
Candidates:
- Impero - Might be more consistent than Independence but I haven't tested since I haven't leveled her skills yet; Would there be enough damage if she replaced Enterprise?
- Helena - haven't tested whether there would be enough AA if she replaced San Diego or enough survivability if she replaced Guam/Sirius but my hypothesis is that she would speed up the fight which would help
- Jeanne d'Arc - not sure if I would have enough AA and damage due to the other hard mode requirements (CA or DD depending on fleet so can't pair with both Guam and Laffey II); Is there a composition that I'm missing?
- Illustrious - would help with Vanguard survivability but not sure if fleet will deal enough damage to clear in time
- Kazagumo - had trouble with survivability
- Cheshire - my understanding is that she is strictly worse than Guam; but maybe her AA will help with survivability over Anchorage? - would need to invest cog arrays to test

That's the fleet that I started with but it has been inconsistent. The confirmation is helpful. Sounds like it might be a gear issue instead of a fleet issue?

Guam or Ancho usually -whichever one was in front (rarely Sandy or Independence or Soyuz once)
Did you run double line?
I have enough UR plates for one of the rainbow DD guns. Is there another gun that is good for Heavy armor?
I'll try again tomorrow. Double line with Guam in front was relatively more consistent for vanguard survivability but that was when Independence would die or the fleet might not beat Taihou by the 1 minute mark
I've been using circular more recently because I thought it would be better for clear times and more consistent but maybe that was the wrong approach
If indep dies try soyuz sara enty and move indep to the other for crossfleet

I was worried Saratoga wouldn't have enough AA but I guess with double line, that might not be as much of a concern
Should I move Soyuz off of the flag position for Guam's skill 3 buff? Or does it not make a difference since Soyuz will fire before Taihou spawns?

Not much you can do but improve or enhance gear all around
Thanks again for the help. I upgraded Soyuz's gear to +13 (Chappy gun, white shell, HPFCR) and San Diego's quad mag torp to +12 before running out of gold and the fleet is consistently clearing now.
