Pushing through w14 at the moment while no event on and the fleets are struggling. So I'm looking for what I should do to proceed (pics incoming)

Problem is Shima dies around the fourth or fifth match even while in the middle, and the rest of the 0ammo fights take much longer (had to wait till safe to get 3* on 14-1)

Is it just a matter of getting shima to 120/125? Or should I look to redesign the whole fleet?

bad gear but some of the ship choices don't help either

#

shim has 3 out of 6 correct gear, and 5 levels from 120 means 10% worse survival and using oxytorp is another 14%

#

illustrious seems terrible when you have a level 125 aquila available

Shimanto is very good at making your main fleet not burn to death

Lusty was to keep the whole fleet alive, I didn't think aquila would compare to having the three ship shield, but I can try (assuming aquila heal mode)
And you're right, shima is least well equipped of the fleet as she is relatively new.

Both main fleets rarely get low, it's the vanguard that get decimated (on auto)

Also a Quad Mags if you are not gonna be doing manual torping

random tips

  1. never pick up flares
  2. get lighthouse quickly
  3. stagger all main fleet damage, they should not be attacking at the same time
  4. 14-3 and 14-4 have enemy submarines in reconnaissance nodes

i never liked triple DD

they're too fast and ram into enemies, losing a lot of hp

@mild rose ignore the enhancement levels And ship affinity, if you don't have enough flapjacks the replace with tigercat=seahornet>hellcat. If not enough roombas replace with twin 90 or sextuple

10 hit is almost always better than 15 fp for BBs

implacable almost never uses a dive bomber, but she's the only CV and campaign wants some splash damage so tenrai is best

Cool, also, is converging tops just bad in w14? They seem to go in random directions (as with HVAR) is common torps better?

So I cleaned out the fleets when I went to take pics of the box and uhhh... forgot to redo the sub fleet.

Should I use IX's or standard subs here?

So far so good, autos on 14-1 fine, barely a scratch and 14-2 full map with 75% hp remaining on both fleets.

14-3 is where things get hard because you have to bring asw, decreasing vanguard survival, and the enemy nodes are also built different

IXs explode in chapter 14+ and arbiters

but level 125 royal fortune works in chapter 14, at least better than level 110 subs
